sometimes when i do leg lifts, my hip flexor gets cramped up or i get a cramp in my quads from keeping my legs straight out. What can i do to help this?

i prefer to grab the ball with my hands and bring it past my head on the way down and then just keep switching from hands and feet having the ball. try that!
what if you were to take a 10 lb dumbell and hold it with your feet. keep your legs straight and do the same thing except no hand under your butt. is that bad for your back>?
Never trust the info of a weightlifter with skinny legs, kinda the same as never trust a skinny cook!
