I extrected the components, ran the "run_ubuntu.bat" thing and nothing happened, just a blink of a command line window. Using Windows 7 x64. Any idea why it doesn't working? And since I pressed it, did it make any changes on my system anyway?
Are you trying to extract it like .zip / .rar / .7z file? The archive is designed to be a self-extracting archive. That is why it is an executable file (.exe). Just double-click the files and select where you wish to extract the files to.

So this is more convenient then the Wubi Installer (which still forces u to restart, or shutdown then turn back on, ur PC to switch between Windows and Ubuntu)?
Basically this portable ubuntu can be used with windows at the same time? 2 operating systems used at once?

I don't believe so, you can just try it normally and see if it bypasses the security settings but I'm not aware of a workaround, this is so new there's not even documentation yet.
@quesomanrulz ummmm...I doubt it. You have to run as admin so that means colleges will have you as a guest accout. That = no fun. Just boot from a REAL ubuntu
thats odd, i have it in mine. Do the same process except run the portable_ubuntu.bat file instead. It will do the same thing except instead of the cmd being in the tray it will be up. no big deal. If that doesn't work then you must have not downloaded the whole file or something strange like that.

when i right click on the "run_portable_ubuntu" and click run as admin. it says...
"cannot find trayrun.exe make sure you typed in the name correctly"
If any one has any idea on how to fix this i would appreciate it.
