Here's how Jubilee and the X-Men met in the original comics:
Jubilee in a mall one day, she saw Rogue, Storm, and Psylocke shopping and decided to follow them. She followed them through a portal which led her to a remote area where the X-Men stayed hidden (at the time everyone thought the X-Men were dead). She stayed in that remote town for days without anyone knowing she was there. She one day saw Wolverine getting tortured by a ruthless gang, she saved his life and from there it began.
i love jubilation lee ,srsly x-fans & writers may venerate kitty pryde (i never understood why! she was only good in evolution & under warren ellis, the rest was overglorifying her) but to me jubilee was a far better character with human failings & an admirable optimism ! a touching character since tragedy harmed her but she always fought back with colorful plasma & a smile on her face.she humanised logan even more with their father/daughter relation
@saidi7975 If you say that Kitty Pryde was good in Evolution, you don't know who she is. I read the comics. I know who she REALLY is. She started out in the X-Men when she was only 14. Evolution had EVERYONE wrong. Rogue is my favorite character of all time, and in Evolution she was a whiny brat. Rogue is supposed to be a spunky countryside girl. Kitty Pryde is supposed to just be a girl from the city, like Jubilee.
@rogernator5000 It's the 90's made for tv Generation X movie. It's not officially available, but you can watch it here on YouTube or, since Ebay doesn't really allow this sort of stuff anymore, you might possibly find it at a place called Sell.com if you want a dvd copy. *Innocent whistling*
@rogernator5000 Looks like there's one titled Generation X (1996) Part 1. That should get you there. Warning: The movie is not that great. But it's kinda cool to see some of the characters in action, what little of it there was. XD
@Cistar7 Jubilee has the untapped potential to detonate matter at a sub-atomic level, which in theory is the equivalent of a fusion bomb. Emma Frost stated that Jubilee had unlimited potential and was one of the most powerful mutants she had ever encountered.
@CzechChen thank god someone who realizes she isn't just some girl who shot fireworks outta her fingertips. Actually there is a number of mutants that have incredible potential but you never see it because the either lack the confidence or the will to advance their abilities.
@CzechChen Not fusion, fission. Fission is the seperation of an atom, resulting in the expulsion of radtion. Fusion is what happens when two atoms fuse, creating a heavier molecule. In the process, radiation is released.
@CzechChen Too bad, she was stripped of those powers and she is now a fucking vampire. Sheesh. I swear I want to know who made that fucking decision and punch them. Jubilee was awesome as she was.
@CzechChen which is entirely untrue. She has the power to shoot firework like bombs which are nothing more than fireworks. She isen't all that powerful YET. There is nothing to suggest she WILL be super powerful seeing as how they have all but ignored her in the xmen universe
@gildrop Emma Frost stated, that Jubilee is one of the most powerful mutant she has ever met, but if you don´t believe to her, in one issue Jubilee destroyed house, so she is quiet powerful. OK, she was, when she was mutant :D
@gildrop Its true Jubilee's power is the ability to detonate matter at a sub-atomic level. Which means shes a one girl/women army. She fears her powers so she never realized her true potential before she lost her powers. Thats why she only used small explosions and played with her powers like fireworks.
@gildrop Jubilee once could generate multi-colored globules of energy plasma she calls "fireworks." She could vary their power and intensity, from a multitude of sparkles capable of temporarily blinding others to a powerful detonation capable of much destruction, and could also absorb the energy back into her body without harm to herself. Jubilee had the potential to detonate matter on a molecular level.
Totally Awesome... Jubilation Lee is one of the kewlest characters and doesnt get the spotlight she deserves.. I love this video! but that's kinda part of her character too :D
I really wish there had been more time with Jubilee. The relationship between her and Wolverine was really great. He always did have a soft spot for kids, and they were buddies!
the ability to generate explosive energy blasts, as well as the ability to detonate matter on a sub-atomic level, but she does, if you wanna know more check out comicvine. com
what's the name of that song? and jubilee rocks! she was my favorite character though I never understand why they never showed her in the rest of the xmen series =[
Jubilee has been in the following non-animated films:
Generation X (tv movie)- Main Character with tons of dialogue and three or four power scenes.
X-Men- classroom scenes and dialogue in deleted scenes.
X-Men 2- captured student, dialogue in Xavier's class at the end, and deleted scenes with power at the museum and when Nightcrawler teleports the kids.
haha yeah the sad part is though this is basically everytime jubillee actually did something useful with her powers in the x-men animated series. whether or not her powers have 'limitless' potential or not is kind of a moot point, because she simply didn't use them to that extent. If you have the genius of lex luthor and spend all day mimicing monkeys, well, you suck. which is pretty much how jubilee has it, lol. that, and yeah, you can't really 'threaten' with explosions. which is all fox allow
Emma Frost in the comics stated that Jubilee's powers were among the most powerful she had ever seen, and had limitless potential, she just was very reluctant to use them on living beings.
And people say Jubes' powers are lame. Truth is, you can't show people getting blown up to fuck in a cartoon that kids'll be watching, and in any case, Jubes wouldn't do that. Hell, in the 90s cartoon, all Wolverine did is snarl, pop his claws, threaten people and scream Jean's name, yet almost everyone has their head up his ass.
indigopeach, they did but its so minor and they are mostly deleted scenes that you wouldn't notice. She was in all 3. first film, a few cameo scenes in both Professor Xavier's and Storm's classrooms. in a deleted scene, in which she talks to both Kitty Pryde and Rogue. X2, appears in a deleted version of the museum scene in X-Men: The Last Stand is limited; she appears within the first ten minutes of the film, and can be seen sitting in the classroom.
actually she was in x2 and x3 the movie but she was just a student and appeared for a split second in a classroom. you can go wiki jubilee and see where she appeared in
she looses her powers on M-DAY because of Scarlet Witch. she wanted to recreate her child be altering reality, but instead de-powered millions of mutants.
she has since REGAINEDs her power through technology in less than two years.
it was in the House of M (8 issues), and one of the major events was the decimation of millions of mutants. published in June 2005. i don't think there is a episode or movie on in, because it was a recent event.
I don't know what episode that clip is from, but the show is X-Men Evolution. :) It ran on the WB for a few years and has since finished. i think it had about four seasons?
Jubilee actually appeared in all three movies of the X-Men Trilogy. But I was disappointed to see how minor her role was in all three of the movies. In 0:04-0:14 is like the only time they show us a glimpse of her ability and that was a cut scene in "X2: X-Men United"! O and I appreciate you showing that part.
It never even registered to me when I was watching the movie that the character I was looking at was Jubilee. I mean, there's an Asian girl, but am I supposed to know it's her. She could have at least wore a yellow coat or her iconic shades.
I know this is getting kind of technical but she actually shoots them from her fingertips and she can charge objects with explosive energy; kind of like Gambit's kinetic energy though she never used it in the animated series!
I don't think she was ever telepathic. From memory she had a odd natural resistance to telepathy. Telepaths couldn't scan her out and I believe she hid from sentinal scanners in the same way at some point. It wasn't explained fully before she was depowered, so I suppose it never will be.
I LOVED so much the 90's X-Men cartoon! Man... I really, REALLY miss Jubes' paffs or "ability to explode matter at a sub-atomic level". She is my favorite Marvel character by far and even if she is being portrayed amazingly in the New Warriors, I really, really want her powers to come back, and for crying out loud! Let the girl use them as we know she can!!
They really screwed up the way the X-men had been in the past in the movies. They didn't put Jubilee or Gambit in the movies as permanent characters, and where the hell did Nightcrawler go after X-2?! They didn't even give Rogue super strength and the ability to fly! They forgot to add so many ppl, that it really is disappointing. I love these tribute vids of them, cuz it makes me believe that they may still exist at least in the minds of their fans...and the cartoon rox, they NEED to air it again!
I agree with most of your post, except what you said about Rogue. While it's true they screwed her character up, the problem does not lie in her powers. The only reason she could fly or have super strength in the first place is because she absorbed permanently from another mutant, killing them. In the movies that never happened, so it's right that she shouldn't have those powers.
Right, but that happened when Rogue was younger. She supposedly came to the x-men because she couldn't get Wonder Woman's personality out of her head after she absorbed her powers permanently. Also rogue never recognizes mystique as her "mother".

I did like the older and sexier Jubilee in the final 90s series season as shown after the 4:00 mark.
I couldn't notice her in Evolution because of Kitty. The "young girl" slot of the team has only room for one unfortunately.
And I love reading fan fiction where she's old enough to get romantic with Wolverine.

Even after having watched that I still think she's a boring character.

They (Marvel) should give Jubes the respect that she deserves. She's an awesome character!!

Let the girl use them as we know she can!!

i agree... the original X-men animated series really rocked. I could never get used to the kiddy-style graphics of the new animated series.

Yeah. Jubes was supposedly one of the most powerful mutants in the world before the events of M-Day.

What's that Jubilee shot and the 4 second mark? something from the movie?
Ieat6pies 3 years ago
It's a deleted scene from the 2nd x-men movie. If you have the dvd you should be able to find it in the extras.
