Jokes are not normally, are not maybe ever, totally innocent. I am of a particular race and like several kinds of music, but if someone made a similarly mild joke that I might suspect indicated having something against those two traits I hope I would only be amused. Actually I was amused and laughed a bit at being called what I was.
@TheFinlandnator I doubt that he was serious at all, hope that he was not, and don't attribute from his comments any thing negative about black guys who like euro disco. Maybe he is a white guy with no feelings whatsoever about euro disco, but likes to feel what Americans call "liberal". Or whatever. With so little provocation I would not like to think I made him feel bad.
