Brilliant sketch but, much as I love Chapman, I don't think he was the best choice to play Saltzberg. I can't think of many examples of him playing that kind of scary authority figure. (RIDICULOUS authority figures, no problem!) I'd like to have seen him and Cleese exchange roles - in fact, I could jumble all 5 principals in a number of ways that'd make it funnier imo.

Also, shouldn't Saltzberg have been smoking the standard huge cigar instead of a mere cigarette?

My favorite MP sketch of all time; dead parrots, cheese shops, argument clinics and crunchy frogs in all glory, but sometimes, you just need something a little more conventional to make you smile. Like an absolutely wonderful Graham Chapman (he was so calm in his other roles, aside from in the Flying Lesson, as either an extreme authority figure, extremely silly or an extreme victim...seeing him so threatening was refreshing.) yelling at a table of cowering Pythons.
