  • One of favourite Python sketches

  • Here's my idea :

  • EEK

  • ... I like it, I like it!

  • I agree with them (points to commenters below me).

  • I'm just crazy about what the commenter below me liked.

  • My favourite line was what the commenter below me likes.

  • It's great!

  • So that's how the Star Wars prequels came into being...

  • Dislikers, eh!?

  • Graham's accent sounds like an Irish immigrant moved to Texas and has a cold.

  • One of the funniest moments in comedy ever .However it's tragic to think the actual message ,because this is exactly how this fucking unworthy world goes by.

  • THINK OF THE COLOURS!

  • pencil droppers, eh?

  • splunge for me too...

  • I think you should post the little animation before this video

  • That's my ex-boss to a tee.

  • Chapman's got a pretty good American accent!

  • I really like Terry Gilliam's acting in this skit.

  • @gietek

He probably found it extremely easy to do the accent as he is American!

  • @bernardcz92 Chapman was British. The American was Gilliam

  • @bbbalino

    I was referring to Gilliam.

  • One of my all time favorite exchanges in Python happens here. It's a mild joke but it makes me laugh every time.

    "Gentlemen I see snow....White snow!"

    "Think of the colors!!"

  • HALLELUJAH! XD

  • hahahahaha i LOVE hearing them do american accents! Monty Python is the most fantastic thing ever.

  • My favorite....

All the pythons gathered and their timing delivering their lines is fantastic.

Its mad, its so funny, its deep, its true monty style! :)

  • Brilliant sketch but, much as I love Chapman, I don't think he was the best choice to play Saltzberg. I can't think of many examples of him playing that kind of scary authority figure. (RIDICULOUS authority figures, no problem!) I'd like to have seen him and Cleese exchange roles - in fact, I could jumble all 5 principals in a number of ways that'd make it funnier imo.

Also, shouldn't Saltzberg have been smoking the standard huge cigar instead of a mere cigarette?

  • PINING FOR THE FJORDS!

  • This is too much funny !

    no its not

    am I bring indecisive ?

  • i... yo.... nes...perhaps. *runs off*

  • 208 yes-men, and 5 people who think this sketch is lousy

  • @gmmatthew1 Oh, and 37,786 people who think "splunge"

  • My mouth hurts from my constant grinning while watching this.

  • You're no fun anymore.

  • It's always nice to see Terry Gilliam appearing in sketches.

  • *Pencil* droppers, eh?!

  • Think of the colors!! Who else wants a giant picture of Graham Chapman wearing a cowboy hat?

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx I do.

  • splunge

  • The way John jumps up when Graham yells at him is hilarious. And how Terry freaks out when he asks him what he think xD

  • That massive black and white picture of Graham at the start always cracks me up lol

  • I bought the four full seasons yesterday. Best deal of my life.

  • love story! intercourse italian style! David Hemmings as a hippie gestapo officer!

  • Think of the colours!

  • Michael Palin is amazing in this, as always.

  • Damn it, what is the seventh guy's name? The guy with the mustache? I LOVE when he appears in the series. The second guy that leaves.

  • @DarkRubberDucky - Ian Davidson.

  • @DarkRubberDucky That would be Ian Davidson

  • @DarkRubberDucky Ian Davidson. Oxford friend of some of the group.

  • I think we need a new word. 'Genius' doesn't do them justice.

  • There's more!!!?? :)

  • "Splunge" should be added to the websters dictionary just like "pythonesque." It's only fair.

  • "Get out you goddamn pinko subversive" XD

  • Splunge! :-)

  • splooge

  • @Champion 17: The guy with the 'stache at the very end of the table is Ian Davidson, comedy writer & Friend of Python.

  • Beautiful. Just...

My favorite MP sketch of all time; dead parrots, cheese shops, argument clinics and crunchy frogs in all glory, but sometimes, you just need something a little more conventional to make you smile. Like an absolutely wonderful Graham Chapman (he was so calm in his other roles, aside from in the Flying Lesson, as either an extreme authority figure, extremely silly or an extreme victim...seeing him so threatening was refreshing.) yelling at a table of cowering Pythons.

  • Who's that guy at the very end? The first guy to leave.....Is that Neil Innes?

  • It's Terry Gilliam.

  • The first one to leave is Terry Gilliam.

  • "Think of the colors!"

One of my all time favorite lines ever.

  • Semprini

  • They're all absolutely FANTASTIC in this sketch, I could watch it forever XD

The way Michael says "I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!!" cracks me up everytime

    Graham deserved an award :-))))

  • Graham: I see... snow!

    (All except Graham clap)

    Graham: White snow!

    John: Think of the colors!

  • Graham makes a good job =)

    eric idle ;-)

  • "And then, when Dorris Day has kissed Rock Hudson, she says something funny! LIKE?!"

    "... Good evening?"

"DORRIS DAY IS A COMEDIENNE, NOT A NEWS READER! GET OUT!"

  • That's a good strategy for when you're put in a tense situation like Terry Jones' character was: Make up a word to express something you simply can;t, like "Splunge."

I like how John Cleese bounces up a bit when he is called on at 2:51.

  • A cameo by Michelle Malkin at 0:23...yay!

  • bhahahahahahahahahahah that was funny ;)

    so true, so true

  • One of the best Monty Python sketches ever made. 5 wacky brits Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, & one yank Terry Gilliam. thay all sound great as american writers and and their boss.

  • Comment removed

  • A rather splunge sketch indeed.

  • Comment removed

  • So true. :D

  • oh man I crack up everytime I see that huge picture of Graham at the beginning! and the American accents are hilarious! XD

  • "Pencildroppers, EH?!" XD

  • I want to hear more of their American accents! XD

  • Is that an american accent?!?! it's so weird..

  • "and she says something funny like..."

    "ah haha... splunge!"

"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard"

    LOL

  • xD

Here's my idea.. I LOVE IT! xD

I agree whit him. I agree whit him. I agree whit him. I agree whit him. I agree whit him. I agree whit him. what do you think?? I agree whit them xD

  • YES! NO! PERHAPS!

  • NES! YO! PERHAPS!

  • SPLUNGE!

  • I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

  • I like that!

  • I love Chapman's accent here. Graham Chapman may you rest in peace

  • @otakudude0851 I love the large portrait they have of him

  • michael palin sounds like one of the Flintstones in this. his accent is sooo cute!

  • You gotta love Michael`s ooh at 3:26 and his "I feel fine now!!" at 3:33...

    Graham is great too!! :)

  • What's a vole?

  • i was wondering the same thing, but a friend of mine told me it was a small mouse or something like that

  • its like a mole combined with a shrew

  • they're sort of like moles, except more destructive. they're the ones who actually chew up the roots of plants and stuff, and people blame it on moles.

  • some kind of desert rat, I think

  • splunge...

  • Siddown, siddown, siddown, siddown!

There'll be plenty of time for *that* later on!

  • I meant as a stereotype. Duh.

  • Graham Chapman sounds like Tony Curtis, doesn't he?

  • Gilliam is the perfect America here. :P

  • gilliam is american

  • i love this sketch, they all are brilliant in it.

i especially love 3:26, michael's litte "oooohh" is so cute.

  • cães de aluguel

    reservoir dogs

  • I can't take it anymore!!!

  • "White snow!"

    "Think of the colors!!"

  • "GET OUT!"

  • i love Graham Chapman's accent!

  • I love this sketch!

  • Terry Gilliam is too cool here...

  • Ian Davidson @ 1:51 rubbing his head in relief is such a funny little throwaway bit of verisimilitude.

    Mike @ 2:05:

"I like it! I like it! I *promise* I like it!" XD Hahahaha!!

  • "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who have heartattacks!"

xD I can safely say that I love these men to death.

  • this is one of those rare skits where terry gilliam has more than 1 line...

  • :D I love it when Gilliam's in them.

    ~God Bless.

  • I don't mean this as an insult, but is it just me or does Chapman sound like an Irish Texan? ;)

  • =P I concur he does,

then again the US southern accent comes from "Scot's Irish" right?

  • micahgee: Actually I'm not sure, but it's interesting to think about. ;)

  • Irish Texan isn't a bad description, but there seems to be a slight dash of "30s Chicago gangster" in there.

  • Yo! Nes! Perhaps! xD Hahahaha!

  • YO! NES! PERHAPS!

  • And OH MY GOD HE TALKES ABOUT ROCK HUDSON! It's been so long since I've seen this that I didn't know who Rock Hudson was! This is my new favorite sketch! *falls over and dies* ROCK HUDSON...

  • Graham+ Cowboy hat= Hillarious! lol. Splung!

  • oh man..great acting

  • Splunge! It means it's a great idea... but possibly lousy... and I'm not being indecisive!

  • Great Monty Skits. Lots of fun. I still haven't seen the one about an old man with a drooling bucket tied to his neck. It had to be the worst of all Monty Python.

    Great Work Keep it Going.

    Donald

  • splunge!!! i like it!!

  • Yay! Gilliam in live action!

  • hilarious xd

  • I really wish that portrait of Graham Chapman in a cowboy hat came in a poster!!!

  • I do too. The look on his face is hilarious xD.

  • they certainly pegged Hollywood, and alot of american film studios.

  • that picture of Graham in the cowboy hat is just hilarious!

  • Nice to see John Cleese as a non-authoritarian character. HAHA

  • Here's my idea... It's great!

    haha

  • Just shut up and die.

  • hm...I wonder what Terry Jones' real voice sounds like...

  • haha...I want that big picture of Graham in the background...

  • lmao !best sketch

  • YEAH!

    And i loved Michael Palin...

  • Heh heh... Graham does have the cutest accent in this...

  • i loove graham chapmans accent!

lol its so funny and so different from his regular voice! :-P

  • lol... yeah... it was a great idea

  • splunge.

  • haha i love monty python! this sketch is hilarious!

  • This is hilarious!! Thanx for posting!

  • Graham has a nice American accent in this one.

  • Michael's first line just cracks me up. xD He sounds like a drunken cowboy.

  • im confused. is michael the one closest to graham chapman? or is he the one with the glasses..

  • Michael is the one next to Graham, & Terry Jones is the one with glasses.

  • ok thanx, i watched some other videos and realize who was who, but thanx anyways

  • haha that's positively brilliant! lol :)

  • hahahaha 16 tons (from the self-defense from fruit, "if someone attacks you with a raspberry...")

  • "there'll be plenty of time for that later" lol

it's nice to see terry gilliam in a sketch for a change. he didn't appear in many did he?

chadner *raises a drink* good on you for uploading all this monty python stuff, thanks.

  • i don't know about the rest you but I just love the little gopher at the start. (it's not a vole because voles have pointy noses)

  • Yay! I found one of my personal favorite sketches (Don't ask me why it is. I think its because everyone's in it.) Even though I have this one on DVD.

  • They didn't even think about the 21st century back then.I'm glad most of them are still with us!

  • "I see snow, White snow!"

    "Think of the Colors!"

I'd say that's my favorite line in this one...XD

  • Intercourse, italian style!

  • Get out, if there's one thing I can't stand it's a yes-man!

  • My guessing is he said - "SPLUNGE"

  • Yeah, it's "splunge".

  • "did he say splonge?"
