I suspect that the race between the GT-R and the bullet train, the Veyron and the plane, as well as other various races between cars and public transportations are all fake. They are set up. They probably have crews to plan the routes well ahead of time before proceeding to the challenges. Everybody knows, but as long as its entertaining, oh well. Jeremy Clarkson on his blog claims that NONE of his races are fake. He claims that all the races on Top Gear are real.

Yeh, i just get tired when it gets silly....i mean, the daft races with campers and stuff does make me chuckle, but when its supposed to be believable.....i could be wrong but a lot just seems very set up and it sort of gets old......

@tyau1234 THEY ARE REAL. they are planned to be close but they let it play out from there. they do all of the filming on the way back after the race as their range rovers (their filming cars) are limited to about 100 mph;) They take about 3 days to film a race 1st day is the race it self with the in car cameras and some on the fly outside shots 2nd day is the beauty shots the flybys and what have you 3rd day is what ever they missed on the second. in the Bugatti race Ben collons

@tyau1234 I think the races are real. They definitely plan them out to be as close as possible, but I think they do the races for real. Things like this are definitely stunts that they plan out but honestly I don't care. I think they're really fun. Admittedly when I first started watching I was a little annoyed when I figured out they weren't all real (I think I was watching the episode where they blow up JC's evo with tanks) but since then I've learned to like it

@bidefordrfc Incorrect! Clarkson told Hammond and May he had help getting the cow onto the Camaro. That's a minor issue. These are hilarious. Paid actors are used. When Clarkson drove the Peel, there was a really short bloke sitting next to him in the meeting at BBC HQ. The same guy was Hammond's co driver in rally on Majorca.

TG is always looking for things about to be torn down and rebuilt. I bet the pool was restored after the RR went swimming, not before.
