@easleystephens2 my predatorial bugs eat crickets, roaches, and larval forms of some beetles and moths. in nature they probably eat the same plus maybe some little lizards and frogs and maybe the occasional small rodent
i got tag'd but my regalis for no reason, i RARELY handle spiders, only once in a great while so that when i have to move them or retank it's not so stressful and so they're not so aggressive, i still have problems in my hand 5 years later, my hand sometimes stiffens up and ache's for a couple days, needless to say i've never handled this species since
Hey just the video and person im looking to ask questions!! the plastic kritter keeper is it ok to keep them in on for their life span? i was told by a t dealer its cool but i thought they liked it taller rather then floor space im thinking on getting one of these T and was gonna keep it in that what ya think??
you are very very very stupid! you are dolt! ;/ oh fuck! you must go to the doctror! ;/// spiders don't like be in your (and all people) hands. ;/ he(she) is very stressed!
i pray english is not your first language or you calling me a dolt is very ironic. it is not likely if that spider bit me that i would have to go to the doctor. i am a large and relatively healthy male ;)
she was sooo stressed she produced a viable eggsac a couple of weeks later =P
WOW Dude you are crazy. I would never recomend free handling this tarantula. A friend of mine got bit by his and he was sweating prefusly and his hand was sevearly cramping
this spider was quite communicative in its own way... she was always very clear when she didn't want to be handled. and i certainly respected that. but sometimes she would actually climb up her cage and ON to me... she was an awesome spider for handling.
the only time she got cranky was the week or two before molting :)
Awesome! I want one really bad. I'm raising 4 Lasiodora Parahybana (brazilian salmon pink birdeaters), I've got a pink toe, and a testy male rose hair who I dont' dare handle anymore.
I only hear horror stories about the ornamentals being so aggressive. Was she this dosile when you got her, or did you raise from a yearling?
my tarantula is a rose hair,it fell like three times, i dont treat it bad or anything,i luv it.but it just walks off stuff. two times out of the three i caught it.
I keep the dangerous of all animals...its called the one eyed snake. they can grow to a foot long, mines 27cm it can spit white liquid that if it gets in your eye it can blind you. it has the ability to fill with blood and become stiff doubling its size to scare off other challengers and attack its common prey the one eyed fish. When it attacks...
its very pritty and large at the same time till its kind of frightning! i mean if it bit you and you drp it would it die cause it would split open. I hear that tarrantulas do that if they droped from hight places!
i've never dropped a bug cuz it bit or stung me... nothing give instant pain and it is relatively simple to train yourself not to jerk from the pain of fangs.
just today a trapdoor latched onto my finger when i was moving it to a shipping container and i didn't move at all... and the freaking fangs got imbedded in my skin to the point i had to carefully pry them out
obviously some spiders need to be treated well in order for them to show you respect, they are very intelligent creatures so treat spiders with respect! ^_^
sorry, that is how some do behave. i have only ever put a bug in the fridge once...to transfer an insanely fast chinese true spider of unknown toxicity to a new home. that thing was lightning... i couldn't even track it when it moved.
it was probably ~60*F in my room when i was playing with that spider
where do you get tarantulas? especially one like that ive never seen that type. shes really pretty. what happens if you are bit? is it dangerous? I keep a brown recluse my parents dont want me to have a pet spider so hes a secret^-^ he's nice though
Wow, she's spectacular! really really pretty! I just got my first tarantula a couple of months ago but maybe I'll have one like her one day! Really gorgeous! ^___^
I'll stick to my stripe knee and rose hair!! lol. That spider was large, congrats on getting the balls up to hold her. Not me!! My husband has a vietnemese bird eater, and it is VICIOUS. She fly's out at you if you just open her cage!!
Wow!!! Ginny´s a beauty!!! Ill steal her from you!!!! XD Maybe not =P But thats a beautiful specimen you got there. Guys if you dont like tarantulas just dont watch =P
the eggsac got infected with mold and all but one of the eggs and nymphs died. the only survivor was a nymph i sent to someone as an experiment before the mold thing happened. iwould say the experiment was rather succesful, heh.
Australian goliath? As far as I know, the only goliath tarantula exists in South America - correct me if I'm wrong. Here in Australia, we do have sort of a tarantula called a whistling spider, otherwise known as a barking spider.
By the way, that's a nice looking tarantula you have there on your hand, Cacoseraph. I bet it has a nice soft touch.
i wouldn't hold just any giant ornamental tarantula... i have had ginny in my care for a while and took a real careful gauge of her typical reactions. when it seemed like she was going to be pretty sweet i took a chance. totally worth it :D
yea lol, im sure the bite of an indian ornamental tarantula would hurt much more, but today i got bit by a rose hair. It is the first time i have been bit by a tarantula, but i did nothing to provoke it.. hurt like hell lol.
rosehairs kill mice as fast or faster than IO's, surprisingly enough. rosies are good starters because they are double tough to kill... that's really about all. hardish to breed and some are crazy... and some ppl react rather poorly to their venom!
I have P. regalis baby but i want to know if it is male or female, tell me what can i do, she/he is little but brown like a male, a female can be like that?
babies don't really show different colors based on sex. males brown out on maturity or *possibly* one molt before maturity. it's probably too soon for you to tell if it is really little still.
hmm. it seems like some people react worse than others. people get body cramps, nausea, sweating, dizziness, local and general pain from poeci bites. i expect as long as your aren't particularily senstive a bit from one that small should be rather uneventful.
i was recently bit by a Psalmopoeus irminia about that size and i could barely feel the venom pain and the local swelling went away within an hour.
10-15 years, if i remember correctly. i think since arboreal can live in less harsh conditions they are used to growing all year round. tropical arboreals grow pretty dang fast.
holy shit i cant believe youre handling a p. regalis. thats intense.
i only have a few tarantulas..but i wont even try to hold my brachypelma smithi. most docile t's there are, and it still gives me shit whenever i open its enclosure.
No, despite what most think they are not generally aggressive. But they are Deadly Fast, combined with there potent venom, would equal an interesting bite.
put in on the ground and press your feet on the ground putting alot of pressure on land and see if it tries to bite you, not stepping on the spider but just stepping on the ground beside the spider
clap clap!!!! you just handles a tarantula species that is not recoomended to handle due to being aggressive???? i can handle my chile rose but no way would i even attempt to handle my Goliath, due to her unopredictabke aggressive nature and her size is too big to be on my hand anyway lol her abdomens the size of a potatoe! take a look at my slideshow.
Nice oen dude that was great footage of a really dangerous spider, I have an adult female just like that apart from yours has a bigger abdamom, i don't think i wanna hold mine tho, Nice footage!!
