  • It depends what kinda of sex offender..I know that the Bible tells us to put rapists and murderers to death..There can be no salvation while in the flesh for them.

  • LETS SEE WE NEED TO PROSECUTE FIRSTS THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND PRIEST SEX OFFENDERS FIRST OVER THE PAST 1000 YEARS... then we can get to the current court list.

  • Apparently the shortest route to relevance in church ministry right now is for the pastor to talk about sex in garishly explicit terms during the Sunday morning service. If he can shock parishioners with crude words and sophomoric humor, so much the better. The defenders of this trend solemnly inform us that without such a strategy it is well-nigh impossible to connect with today's "culture." - John MacArthur

  • You stupid sick fucker

If god is just going to forgive you

WHAT IS THERE TO STOP YOU FROM DOING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?

You priests are all scum bags.

  • @pokerslut530

"If god is just going to forgive you

WHAT IS THERE TO STOP YOU FROM DOING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?"

What is there to stop you doing it on atheism? Absolutely nothing. There is no right or wrong, objectively, on atheism. No justice or help is EVER going to arrive, on atheism.

On Christian theism, however, somebody who is truly repentant can be forgiven. It has to be an honest admission of wrong-doing. Nobody who knows Christ can say "yea, well, I'll be forgiven" like a get-out.

  • jesus tap-dancing christ your god can condemn people like sex offenders and at the same time he can redeem them too? wow your god sucks. and you people say atheists have no morals? funny, really funny.

  • Well I say screw washington state because they have commited child abuse and neglect .. my son was Violated by Kayla Shoemaker in 2003 she gave my son a handjob at the bus stop.. He was made a level 3 sex offender and cannot live any where, even sleazy motels , Charles Dorendorf 509 545 2415 has Raped my son for six years he is a Washington state PO he is a liar and I hope he and his pay for this. my son cant even move or get a job ... and has spent 3 out of six years in jail for a Handjob

  • The bible does not say that a woman has no rights, in fact it's quite the opposite.

    Ephesians 5:25

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it"

    Ephesians 5:28

"So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself."

Essentially men should treat women as equals. Which means they have the same rights as men.

Which specific verse from Deuteronomy 22 did you draw your conclusion from?

  • Deuteronomy 22:28-29 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is ... rapes her and they are discovered... He must marry the girl, for he has violated her.

So a man can rape a girl as LONG as he marries her? I Timothy 2:11-12 A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness... do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

    Do you want more?

  • Firstly, in Deut 22:28-29 you misinterpreted. It isn't saying a man can rape a girl as long as he marries, it's say that IF a man rapes a woman it is his moral OBLIGATION to marry her, and not "put her away all his days"

I Timothy 2:11-12. You have to understand that at this time in history (biblical era) there was no hope of reform. Submission was a reality of the time. You can't apply that verse to today's society because God never decreed the secondary status of women for all-time, in fact...

  • ...Within the 10 commandments themselves it states, "Honor your father AND your mother, that your days may be prolonged..." Ex.20:12

Did Jesus Christ ever treat a woman as beneath him? Absolutely not, and it's his example that we follow.

"You are ALL sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus...There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, MALE NOR FEMALE, for you are ALL one in Christ Jesus." Gal. 3:26-29

Women were intended to have the same rights as man.

  • Actually until Christianity man and woman was very equal- however, this is an argument I cannot win. Therefore you may if you would like claim moral superiority over the poor atheist.

    ;)

  • You're an idiot.

And just so you know: I'm an atheist. And you're making us look like idiots.

First off, EVERY SINGLE VERSE you cited was from the Old Testament, which WAS BEFORE CHRISTIANITY.

And if you think that the genders were equal before Judaism (the Old Testament) then you haven't done the slightest amount of historical research.

  • You made two assumptions that are incorrect- I agree the OT was technically (at least according to some) written prior to Christianity your response neglects to remember that the OT is an integral part of the "christian faith" and is used frequently to back up their assertions- what is good for the goose and gander so to speak.

  • That's only one assumption, and I never said that the Old Testament wasn't integral, only that it came significantly before any Christ, and therefore Christianity.

You said "until Christianity man and woman was very equal", and every verse you cited was before Christianity.

And if you think that the Old Testament wasn't written prior to Christianity then you're impervious to logic and evidence and talking to you is a waste of time.

  • So if the Old Testament came before Christ (as you say), who formed the earth and all that is made according to John 1? Or who walked in the garden in Genesis 3vs.8? Or who was Abraham dickering with over the destruction of Sodom & Gomorah in Genesis Chapter 20?

  • FYI- The Old Testament speaks of christ throughout and therefore does not pre-date Christianity, but rather is as much Christian as is the New Testament. (Sorry, Not to make you appear like an "idiot").

  • You're fine.

And certainly there are parts of the Old Testament that reference a coming messiah, but in terms of who walked the garden in Genesis, etc., that would have been god the father, rather than god the son, or Christ. At least according to Lutheran teaching (it probably varies by denomination).

But the point is that Christianity as an institution did not exist until after the New Testament, because there had not yet been a Jesus to base it upon.

  • Again, I beg to differ. Jesus is the incarnate manifestation of God - existing from the beginning of time even before his physical birth into this world, (the trinity, "I and the Father are one",etc.) John 1:1- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." 1:3-"All things were made by Him...." 1:14-"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)..." Jesus is God made flesh!

  • Honestly, I'm really not interested in arguing doctrine. The point, again, is that Christianity (at least as an earthly institution) did not exist until the New Testament, and I don't think that's a point we disagree on. I never said (or, at least, never meant to say) that Jesus wasn't part of the triune god, according to Christian teaching.

  • Yes, We do disagree. You call Christianity "an earthly institution" and I believe it to be God's plan before creation began. So, I agree to disagree.

  • Again we hear the term sex offender being used without qualifying it.few offenders are what you picture. This guy is a good speaker and has the right idea.People should take Gods lead and try to forgive but they wont so I ask that you do a little research on what it takes to become a sex offender.Once you do you will be surprised at who is on there and why. Then ask youself if you or your family are more in danger of being assaulted or being trapped by the registry..its pretty obvious the registry

  • sexoffenderissues . blogspot . com

  • You know this guy seems like he knows what he is talking about. I mean yeah we dont like sex offenders but my rule of thumb is I forgive but I dont forget. I dont judge people because God didnt give me the right to do that. Man may judge people but it is only God who really judges you. It takes guts to forgive people and some people just wanna hold a grudge and make up stories about a sex offender. Some people will go out of their wawy to say a sex offender touched my child when he or she didnt.

  • Amen Bro! Understanding the depth of God's mercy requires realizing the magnitude of our need for it! Forgiveness can never be deserved(it is a gift), and forgiving others is a condition required by God for our own forgiveness! (see Mark 11:26 Kjv)

  • @deathboy13669 we are all sex offenders in gods eyes and its only thru him that we keep our minds stable and we proper! But i disagree when he says a sex offender is someone who has been caught, convicted, blah blah,,, There are many who have been falsley accused, and there are many who have done the same as the guilty and not been reported!
