  • Crytek, WHY YOU NOT IMPLEMENT!

  • @L1NK666XL1NK666 dmm doesn't get used in gta 4 and is just called dmm gta 4 uses fake dmm fake dmm let things break just with many parts evrytime the same way gta 4 uses euphoria thats when the npc or bots get bones and a sort of brain? i wish gta 4 had dmm than i could blow up things :(

  • I wish they would release just a game of messing around with the physics engine, I would love to throw R2D2 at plywood.

  • so,this was in 2008....

when will this be in games?

  • @AjarJunkman it is in acouple of games , it was in star wars and gta 4

  • The force unleashed was a work of art! All the concepts, drawings, ideas and plot really make this an awesome title. You just gotta look past it as a game and look at it whole, as art.

  • StarWars ADvert anyone?

  • it would be so cool if they ever put this in a game

  • i wish i could throw r2d2 at a wall

  • Somehow I could see this being very well applied to a game with massive destructible environments, or a horror game.

  • This is Havok and Euphoria combined...

  • Why would I buy a Starwars game to experience the sensation of breaking plywood?

  • Whould it break the same if you threw Threepio at it?

  • Future crysis game :)

  • yeah, the physics are awesome, they've used it in quite a few games now. the starwars game was basically a sandbox for it. remember all that shit you could throw around? completely un fucking necessary.

  • LEAVE R2 ALONE

  • is there anyway you could make this on css or hl2?

  • This isn't made by Lucasarts! Its name is Euphoria and it's used in GTA 4, too!

  • @Aticze Yeah way back when I first uploaded it I heard it was created by them, little did I know it was created for them (not specificly) for that pile of crap Dark Knight game or whatever it was. GTA4 made much better use of it though for sure. Thanks for the heads up ill change it :)

  • @L1NK666XL1NK666 this is digital molecular mater and it has been around for along time, Euphoria is an on the fly Character physics and AI engine.

GTA IV never had DMM but it did have euphoria which is only for character physics.

It does however have havok which is a physics engine used to create physics for more that one object at anyone time, this is also used in lucasarts' new engine for the force unleashed.

If by now you already new this, I am sorry to have wasted your time.

  • @Aticze You're wrong... Euphoria is the engine that's pretty much used to create animations on the fly. (Ex: When you grab someone using the force in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed the way that they go crazy swinging their body in crazy ways) Euphoria in no way has anything to do with this.

  • @Aticze

DMM was made by lucasarts duh, euphoria is a ragdoll engine, not a destruction engine.

  • @Aticze Actually thats DMM. LucasArts used Euphoria too, which was used in GTA4, you're right, but that's a character animation system. What this video shows is DMMm which is made by Pixelux

  • @Aticze here is the deal, the materials are made by havok/dmm some are havok others are dmm, ofc the humans moving naturally = euphoria

  • i agree with

    JayAre561

  • awesome engine, but they made it for suuuchh a shitty game!

  • @JayAre561 Yeah it was a shame, someones gotta make something good out of this!

  • @L1NK666XL1NK666 I know dude! I wanna see it in a fps/bad company style game. fallout new vegas as someone suggested below would be awesome too! the first time i saw these physics i was blown away, as it is nothing short of real life. I was sadly disappointed by the game as it had promising rpg elements. none the less I have not lost faith in that we will see this one day put to great use!

  • Screw the physics. I want an R2D2 Blaster

  • NEW(ISH) =)))))))))))

  • Haha... at first I thought the crazy physics engine was referring to the first one! :)

I was going to say that this must be an old video xD

  • Go get that wood, R2D2!

  • what game is that

  • It has been used for the new star wars game, the physics worked realy well but the overall game wasnt that great, but it wasnt too bad.

  • Its not Lucasarts engine its Havok

  • @Dylijn No. It's not. Havok just does mass physics, DMM can simulate real elements. A whole lot more impressive than Havok.

  • Put this in Fallout vegas!

  • poor r2... good vid :)

  • Hopefully in the future this can happen with water

  • this little demo area is better than the entire game

  • this is how force unleashed works.

    it's a fun game.

  • anal.

  • is this star wars game out? i have to get if for this

  • The DMM thing is way better than source engine and havok

  • lucasarts wernt the first people to create this kind of physics engine, its been around for a while now.

  • LucasArts didnt even make this, they licensed it from another company for use in their games then advertised it's ass off as if it were theirs lol

  • the secret is simply that you have to throw R2D2 at it, then it will break like that.

  • I took your comment seriously... Started thinking "what does he mean? What is R2D2? Is it some sort of engine? w00t?"

    then it hit me -.-... R2D2!! How could I forget = /...

  • math math math.... that's all I see!

  • amazing! havent seen anything like that yet on game physics:}

  • 0:52 - poor R2D2! lolz

  • Does Lucas arts have the exclusive rights for this? I hope not, they make some good games, but I'd prefer it to be in other, better games.

  • Crytek probably has this under wraps

  • the engine was made by Pixelux Entertainment, they own the rights.

  • is that software downloadabal ?

or can i atleast get the sorce code ?

  • Not likely... With such a program, you can expect it will range anywhere from 20.000$ to say, maybe 100.000$?

I couldn't picture anyone buying this for the sake of putting it on the internetz... So no, I doubt it's downloadababel.

  • i am very worried about R2 here!

  • artoo? lol

  • Awesome

  • I've been wanting to make an engine like this for a while, glad someone did it.

  • r2's screams :P xD

  • poor r2

  • I'm jealous of these guys : I wish I had the knowledge to write a physics engine (let alone that good of an engine).

  • You can create yourself such a demo with dmm plugin for maya...

  • Fix the description... DMM is not made by LucasArts. It's made by Pixelux Entertainment.

  • No, i prefer disinformation thanks.

  • Flagged.

  • FUCK! What am i gonna do now?

  • Comment removed

  • they should publish it as a game or somthing does any1 no if there is anything like this or somthing with dmm gor game like a little 3d person to rip off limbs and stuff that would be fun

  • Dmm Is not from lucasarts but from pixelux

  • omfg awsome

  • Where can i get That Demo

  • when that first thing hit the board at 0:53, my jaw just fucking dropped

  • Yeah its apparently a lot by better now aswell seeing as this video's a couple of years old now.

Oh well, its out tommorow so we'll see if its as well implemented as it looks :)

  • its a great system. I love it when playing.

  • nice but too bad theres no wood in that game.

  • I think i saw a video quite a while ago where the guy was smahing up trees in some forest or something, then again, i might just be crazy.

  • in the start there is but i hoped they would use much DMM like a biiiiiiig sandbox but no :(

but its a great game love it :)

  • its euphoria nub

  • No, Euphoria is an AI/Ragdoll physic engine, it can't make that, it just make human in game falling and using his and to protect him when he fall etc ...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA you go find out your self pal but euphoria is something completely different hahahaha so noobish!

  • uhh its nice and all but where is there any wood in star wars

  • , A new physics engine made by lucasarts, lol its not made by lucarts?

  • This game will be released on the Wii,DS,X360,PS3,and PS2 but not on PC and since PC's are usually the only ones with "Development Tools" on them i highly doubt there will be a sandbox thingy sorry :( ( basterds PC version always pwn)

  • will there bee are sandbox in the new star wars game where you can explore the physics like this?

  • Im pretty sure there should be, they'll want to show this stuff off. I have no idea where to get stuff like that though, my pc's to shit to run that kind of stuff anyway :)

  • thats nice physics

  • CryEngine 2 Better!

  • .... CryEngine doesn't even simulate that though. Does it?

  • cray engine sucks compared to dmm. were you not paying attention to the video. dmm simulates real world physics, cry engine has a swap out sheet for all their breakables. dmm doesnt need that because for the time being dmm is the best engine out there for environments. Havok is the best for multiple object movement and euphoria( not endorphin) is the best character simulation program.

  • It's called Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) there is also Euphoria, and Havok implemented into their new game SW: The Force Unleashed. Not angle, ya dunce.

  • How do I get that, I've been trying to get Extreme Loading, but that ain't working out so well. I already have Endorphin, and 3ds those are pretty fun.
