I just saw him @ Riviera Maya Jazz Festival,, infront of 4000 people at the beach. Didnt know who he was, like most of the people there,.. and he with his band, meda the difference that night, and not becouse of his technic, trust me. And when i findout how young he is,... well,... all my respects, defenetley a talent there. Thanks for such a lovley eveining Eldar Djangirov.
I went to high school with Eldar. Our high school had a fall concert and a spring concert. In addition, we had 3 separate concerts each year specifically for Eldar and his band.
A few years back I saw him at the NAMN convention informally checking out a Falzoni grand piano. I didn't know him at the time but was amazed by his technique and asked him who he was.
He told me he lives in San Diego & wanted to goto USC to study jazz,.
San Diego isn't know for a jazz city nor is USC know as a jazz school. He said that Jazz playing is easy once one learns a few scale runs. After getting used to it, one emb ellishes that run to spin off new sounds--a true technician.
This guy has already played with some of the top jazz legends even Herbie Hancock Roy Hargrove as well as others he has already come into his own, his talent is GOD given as well as young so that makes him very expressive, Yal leave him alone. PEACE
will someone please explain to me what i'm supposed to be getting from listening to this guy? i feel overly saturated by his excessive technique and intellectuality. i'm not hating, i'm just curious what his answer would be if i asked him why he was playing music, and what music's significance was in his life as well as it's purpose in helping his soul attain that eternal goal well all yearn for, past the obscenity of our gross and thick egos
I hear a lot of expression in that heavy vernacular of his... Its kinda like shakespeare... if you dont get the language... then it sound pretentious and wordy... but if you do... it is RICH. And this kid's playing is full of real epression and soulfulness to me. I think he's just kinda spunky and young, and as he gets older he'll settle in more.
I agree. This kid is more intrigued by piano tricks and runs more than making real music. He is just a cold playing technician. He'll impress everyone at first but people will soon tire of his souless playing.
@NHockerJazz what does theology have to do with it? The guy is a great player period. Those with technique use it in the service of the music they hear in their heads...some are just better at getting it out to our ears. the same for Oscar, Art, R. Rabello, Scotty Anderson, NHOP, and many others.
