Thats a nice one. Its been slow this year up here in the valley, lots of bait theft. I caught a 4 pounder this weekend, and the biggest ive heard is 6.6 pounds so far. My personal biggest is 10 pounds 3 ounces in long ice fishing, but its been 7 years since thats happened. Missed a lot of big salmon right at the hole since then. Regardless, thats a beautiful salmon you got there.

it looks exactly like the brown trout out of lake michigan. salmon more of a forked tail and brown trout have a more square tail like that fish and the colors and shape of the mouth way different from a salmon

the record on a tip up is alittle over 12 1/2 pounds. it was caught in this lake. we fish this lake year round. nice fish man. i fished the weekend too. no such luck.

8lb flurocarbon with a #8 hook. The fish is a landlocked salmon, not an Atlantic. It is a freshwater descendant of the Atlantic salmon that stays in freshwater year-round. The lake that this fish was caught holds the ice fishing world record for landlocked salmon. That salmon weighed in at over 14lbs. Thanks to Jeff we got this whole thing on video. Jeff, you're the man!

This 7lb 11oz female Landlock salmon won 1st place 2/4/08 in the 3rd annual Long Lake Finging Derby. 1st prize was $1000.00. Chris Leek caught the fish and Jeff Cox was cameraman ans witness.
