In the English version it sounds like he's laughing at something funny. In the Japanese version, it sounds more like an evil laugh. Which one was he trying to do, is the question.

English version is definitely better because it gives the impression that he tried much harder to sound crazy and I always give an A+ to whoever gives the most effort.

And making it so squeaky is pretty creative too XD Light really doesn't sound like he's supposed to laugh in such a squeaky voice but that's just what makes this more awesome. And since he's much squeakier than normal, again, gives the impression of how much crazier he was in that moment.

Im in college and I live in a dorm room with my roommate. Right now, for my alarm, I have a normal ringing sound that wakes me up at 7 in the morning while he is still asleep, although it wakes him up to.

seriously i do hate some english dubs on the anime because the emotion that i see from the character is just so different from the voice. @Zangya its not a twist that decides the voice. Its the actor playing the voice. 90% of anime voices are acted based on different actors. People prefer english over japnese and visa versa myself i prefer japanes cause its uncut and they don't mess up the grammar and drama as enlish dubs do. My friend on other hand high disslikes the japanese voices and think the drama used in voice overs is to much for the animes she views. The battle of which is better simply based on the viewer.
