Is it just me, or do you not hear the cows mooing even though they're there? In any case, Richard Hunt sounds amazing, and this certainly must have been a fun day of filming for Ozowa and the puppeteers.
It's slightly ironic that Ricahrd Hunt is singing this, as life was especially "gay" for him. Knowing that Jim Henson accepted all people, even gay people, makes me wish the world had more people like him.
I couldn't agree with you more. The stuff on tv today can't hold a candle to programs like this gem. And Im also finding though that even this show isn't as good as it used to be.
It was pretty nice when Seiji Ozawa shook Placido Flamingo's hand and by giving him a congratulatory pat on his beak after the song as of doing a great job and stuff, don't you think?
Instead of all those stupid cartoons the kids are watching today, they should be watching stuff like this. Atleast they would learn to use their imaginations!
Now they have their stupid Dora the explora, and about a million other cheap cartoons made entirely on computers. I miss stuff that would inspire me to imagine, and be a better person.

Richard's "Placido Flamingo" voice was basically the voice he used for Wayne on "The Muppet Show", with a Spanish accent.

@efil4own1
I agree. He does sound like Wayne.

That's why I love Seiji Ozawa!!!

Seiji Ozawa is ordinarily a very serious conductor, so he was indeed a good sport to participate here.

My uncle made this. Soo cool!

Notice that it seems that Placido is singing "Natalie" as opposed to "Napoli". Another case of appropriate censorship.

Richard Hunt truly could have been an opera singer.

the chickens are my favorite part

Since they used the Muppet Show's chickens, ducks, sheep, and frogs, was this after the final season?

Guess so, "Sesame Street" sort of had a limited number of all-purpose animal puppets as far as I know in those days.

"Even" gay people?
CD31088 2 years ago
Dont have a go at me, I'm gay myself. I just think that he was accepting in a way few were back then.
Crassygyrinus 2 years ago
Back then, 'gay' meant happy.

@tsjrlover I agree with you tsjrlover. Sesame Street is really degenerating towards being nothing more than Elmo Fest.

They call the composer a very good sport, because ordinarily he is very serious about composing, and here he's agreed to conduct animal muppets.
