Credit cards are basically a scam. People used to live quite happily without credit or store cards.

With regards to borrowing money for a house yes you need to lend it but some banks are more ethical than others.

@12risingmercury I would start with a Title Search at my local City Hall Of Records.

If you can get your title, you can probably track it with the help of a title company if you can't do it yourself.........

@12risingmercury Hi, I just went to MERS, it has a MERS for home owners click on that, they need the mortgage number, or your name & Soc Sec No or the physical address, it looks like it also has some other sites if you do not belong to them, but

on your court documents it should say too.

@12risingmercury Find your County Tax assessor office, you can find any document filed on your property with the legal description or APN number, they are very helpful and it is fun at least in LA, once you have your legal description which is map page and parcel number, it is easy then the documents are by year, you can get a cheap copy or just read, if you are going to use it in court, get a certified clerk copy about 12 bucks.
