First, call your local SPCA or animal shelter & ask them if they have a beagle. They can take your name & number and call you when one is rescued. This is a great way to find a certain breed dog. You don't have to get a puppy!

Second, call several vets in your area. Sometimes, a vet will try to find a dog a home.

I've heard you shouldn't buy pets from pet stores because they buy puppies from 'puppy mill's'.

We don't know how old Buster is! My father was at the camp and found him lost in the woods. He was very skinny and looked awful, poor baby! I took him to the vet and nursed him back to health. In just a few weeks he was beautiful!!! He's been part of the family for several years. My guess is that he's now about six years old. I hope you post a video of Toby!!!

@NintenHedgehog I think Buster was about 2 years old when he did this video. I don't know his exact age because I found him in the country at my Dad's camp. I think he had gotten lost because he was so underweight. I still have him, he is a great dog. He just loves everybody.

I used to own a 15" male beagle named Leo. When I came home, late, late at night, I would hear the thump, thump, thump of his tail hitting the floor in the next room. Late at night, he wouldn't greet me at the door. During the day, he would, with beagly elation. At night, he would remain on his carpet and make the supreme effort to greet me with a friendly thumping of his tail...period. He was an affectionate little guy.
