  • Grew up to this band!

  • How does one thank a man who does not want to be thanked..How does one admire a man who does not want to be admired. My son is a drummer and has watched every "lick" Mr Peart has ever sticked, over and over. I want to say thank you Mr. Peart for being an inspiration to my son ... I am a single mother so I hope you appreciate what that means.

  • bastante chingón, felicidades, se ve que ensayaste mucho!!

  • HOLY F.

  • Check out my Tom Sawyer cover + other covers.

  • Wow !!! I don't know that you play drums that well ! And although it's not my music style, but I can recognise your beat is very precise, and that at a quite complicated manoeuvre. Respect, respect !

And was it Roscoe who ran for cover ??? ** g **

  • I like the dog racing by -

    Is that your roadie

  • yo thats a tight kit

  • Sweet!

  • that set is ridiculous

  • that's a sick set you got man!

  • (CONTINEWED)....nice spelling eh?..f'd it up JUST FOR YOU this time

...more enticing activity than replying to a SEVEN MONTH OLD comment next saturday night.....

snyways , actually wnjoyed your clip, as peart always has been my fav musician , and one of my main 3 drumming inflewinses (lmao...enjoying the spelling errors enough?)..along w/ alex VH, and bonham...

    'cheers' back at ya

  • lol....up a bit late w nothing much to do friend?....ever heard of a typo?

and for someone who obviously has good timing, (and u DO play and keep time well), 7 months late is a bit off the metronome, dont ya think?

anyways , if i recall correct , the better half and myself were toking and drinking when we responded, and typing/spelling isnt always up to par when enjoying such....well, hopefuly u find a more enticing activity than replying to a SEVEN MONTH OLD comment

  • Nice job man!!!! That was pretty much exact IMO.

  • Wet suit? I just think he's trying to look like Neil with the tight-fitting shirts.

    Lol.

    Good job man, keep rockin'!

  • kool

  • Why does it sound wishy washy, like a flanger effect ??

  • muy bien

sounds great! you play really good.

nice drumset man i wish i had one half as cool as yours

  • Pretty good for playing in a wet suit!!!

  • good job, sounds great.

  • Nice job bro!

  • Good work. Don't forget to play with your dog too.

  • NICE! It's not easy copying Neil Pearth tunes. I didn't notice any flaws, but I'm no drumming expert.

I'm pretty sure the animal was a beagle or hound of some sort.

  • nice dog!

hey, great feel, and great drumming!@

how many cymbals can one guy have!

    too cool

    rokkitt

  • that is the biggest cat i've ever seen

  • whatever.

  • haha his cat goes running through at like 1:27.

  • I think its a dog

  • hard to tell.

  • It's my Hound Roscoe that was bouncing by.

    Cheers

  • Really nice work!Everything is perfect

  • yeah, tom sawyer's hard, innocencefaded2112 (nice name, btw) but the only hard part is the sixteenth notes, which are pretty fast, no doubt about that, but that shouldn't detur you from the song. A couple of hours bangin' it out on a pillow, and you'll be flyin'. Oh, and b8's only sound like shit if you can afford anything else. :p

  • i take that back, if you could get b8's for free, id take em, but i'd much rather accept some much nicer cymbals, like paragons (which Neil Peart invented and plays, btw)

  • I am no master drummer I am 17 with a set of brand new pearl exports! B8's sound like Shit! If i were you I would either go Zildjian or Sabian thats the 2 best you can go with in my oppinion for great acoustic and mic up show sound

  • Man, you are so fuckin' sick on the drums. Why didn't you use the fucking original version of Tom Sawyer though? Ruined the whole damn thing, man. Much respect though. You still kick huge ass regardless, man. Never stop drumming.

  • B8's ?! If youre actually a drummer...geez. No they do not.

  • hey do b8s sound good?

  • not at all

  • no kissfan, they sound like shit.

  • Great job dude

  • nice kit man!!!is that the s&m version of the ecstasy of gold i hear at the start??i love that song!!!and i hate tom sawyer!!!its too hard to play!!!!!:)nah excellent song!love it but prefer limelight and red barchetta...yes because theyre easier to play!?!

  • Great drumming job, too bad with the sound quality

  • nicely done dude.

  • Is that a dog I see at 1:27? if it is, AWESOME, also, good job on the playing.

  • nhrn, yeah that's my hound Roscoe. Thanx man.

  • I have to say, Roscoe is an cool name for a dog. Plus, your drum kit sounds good, what make/makes do you use?

  • nhrn, that was actually an old kit. I've since upgraded to a 7-piece Pearl Export kit which is rack-based.

  • Nice, I was going to get a pearl masters kit with 4 toms and about 5 paiste cymbals but my friend sold it before I could get the money to buy it off him.

  • Some friend...

  • Thats the biggest drum set I saw in my lifE!

  • Have you ever seen Rush play? Or Va drum? You can't think that is the biggest kit you've ever seen? Nice kit though illcitstill! But I've seen bigger!

  • wow olny wish this guy really playing this not like my step dad play this song by sound he can play any thing by sound

  • verrry nice job. the professor would be pleased. i have to take one star away for the poor audio quality. all the money you have invested in the kit, you should mike it better than this. excellent job, though. 4 out of 5.

  • tighten up your snare sound it sounds loose....close the hi hat more

  • it was good but no one can beet Neil Peart. Good job though

  • awesome!!! your rock dude

  • Good job man. Playing Neil Peart's songs is not easy, especially a song like Tom Sawyer that requires special coordination, control and those fills.. man... How long did it take you to learn how to play it? .. good job man...

  • ulirod1, I actually started playing it from day one when Moving Pictures came out; but it took quite a while to get in the ballpark.

  • I played that song for 3 hours every day until I got it. Key thing to learning Rush songs: Perseverence.

  • PRINGAO

  • that rocked! - I'm jealous!

  • man does that turtle neck ever cramp ur style

lmao fuckn great though nice set

  • amazing. nice job with the 7/4 time signature change. and back again to 4/4, then back to 7/4, then back again to 4/4

  • and nice job ATTEMPTING to appear knowledgable by pointing out tsimple time signitures

    LMAO

  • *signatures*

  • pretty good :)

  • Nice work friend:)

  • what are the 6 black circles?

  • EricCarrIsGod, Roland TD7 triggers.

  • he doesnt play a different symbol every fill, its good but your all about extra eqitment lay off a little bit

  • nice job brother, nice job!!!

  • Most percussionists go along with the flow and rhythm of the music, but not so in the case of Rush and Neil Peart. At times he (Peart) almost seems to go against the flow and rhythm of the music which makes his style of play incredibly difficult. You did a fabulous job and I like your kitty.

  • You're playing it wrong.

  • oh shut up

  • baller i see your point and agree with it in a way. But if you can come by a pro set why not use it?

  • not bad, but i prefer sheer skill on a smaller set over jamming with all those cymbals and electronics, but still great.

  • DOOD.I hope your in a band and not waistin that xtreem talent just for youtube and ur kitty.. KEEP ON ROCKIN DOOD. 5stars, 2thumbs up, 10 out 10, 100% :-)

  • smooth dude, you sure can tear it the fuck up.

  • Nice and smooth, Great job.

  • I like it when your cat walks past at 1.28 secs and you aren't even fazed-could Peart of handled that?

  • nice set

  • Niz-ice!

  • Hard to play Neil Peart lines, but you did very well!!! Nice!!!

  • Question: Are you using a DTXtreme module? Because those look like Yamaha pads around your ride cymbal. It's very Akira Jimbo, and I tried to replicate it, but I need to get those little pads. The big ones that come with the kit mistrigger no matter where I put the individual sensitivity settings (Or they have to be hammered to be triggered, i'm sure you dig). Please tell me how you work with those, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • It's a Roland TD7 kit with the expansion pack (aka all triggers). I used to only play this kit, however I went back to acoustic years later and use them for special effects mostly now.

As for triggers/sensitivity levels, these have been very nice in that regard. I never had any problems on that front or with chokes (triggers mapped to cymbals).

    Hope that helps.

  • Very nice job. Muffle ur snare a bit but ur form is great. Wish I could do as well.

  • I've seen a number of people try to pull off Neil Peart and you either pull it off or fail miserably. You're one of the best. Great job.

  • good job man

  • The Bassett Hound makes an appearance for Sawyer...bless the pooch.

  • yea ur snare kinda sounds like shit but ur amazing with the solo i personally cant get through that song without carpotunnel but im 15 and for the person below yea they only made 30 of the neil peart customs so they prolly tons of money. i love how the dog runs by in the middle of ur recording lol

  • ur cat jams too!!!! =)

  • I appreciate your form. Very fluid.

  • verry nice. this is a pretty hrad song.

  • if i had a better veiw i could say but .. that looks like that Neil hybrid set that was for sale at diff' music places.... "but i am not sure

  • From one drummer/musician to another .. very nice man solid .. i am a huuge rush fan .!!! Great dude ..rock on bro .. as you know neil is not an easy drummer to cover .. and you were solid bro .!! his timings and chops are sick .. KeEP JAMIN

  • VERY COOL

  • That was just amazin'...

  • lol dog in the room. good man HARD song. keep it up

  • Dude, that was good. Very good. Keep it up.

  • nice job bro, you played tight right over top of that

  • Cool man. You more comfortable playing that than Niel does! Thanks for the video and keep playing.

  • RUN FOR SAFETY DOGGY!!

  • nice techinique and playing, maybe get a better camera for quality, but sweet. thats quite a kit too, i'm lovin the electronic stuff

  • Nice u play it right

  • Wow. There are no words. Just WOW!

  • to many cybal hits in the beginning.

  • when u get nearly as good as this god of the drums right then u can tell him what he did wrong

  • I am this good.

  • How did you mute the Peart parts?

    Wow nice.

  • damn you naild that about as good as anybody ive ever heard try to play anything peart wrote

  • u forgor one spashy hat part, but other than thatm pretty good!

  • Damn ! You got that shit down !

  • very nice, almost perfect.

  • nice work bro, very impressive

  • man, bravo yet again, this is the standard by which all posters should model themselves :)

  • i wish i could like drink after u to hopefully get some skill. check out my videos....i suck.....

  • good stuff man... good stuff.

  • WOW...

  • lol! white version of carter beauford. That is funny, because its true. I'd say i wish i had half the skill you do, but i am exactly at HALF the skill you are....I'm halfway there....maybe in another 6 years lol! good job man

  • that was amazing! Neil Peart really would be proud of you.

  • i liked the cat to :)

  • jesus christ, this is so inspiring.

  • wow nice work man

  • That performance of Tom Sawyer was absolutely god-like. People like you inspire me to keep playing because it shows that its not impossible to drum like Neil Peart.

  • I love you...... in a platonic way of coure and man wow. Shit that is a work out! You're really good. I like to see you do "Subdivisions" and probaly "Test for Echo". I'm play a little drums too and those are my fav songs to play and I love to see you play those and see what you're reaction to it. ok ok I loved it *bows down* do more!

    Rock on!

  • nice job but you play some extra cymbals , anyway you did a great work this song is very difficult

  • i dont know why but at first i thought you were the white version of carter beauford, maybe its just the hat and shirt but anyway awesome performance

  • neil would be proud

  • I'd better go for a lie down after that lot Ill,,,that looked well busy....well done....nice post. Go get a beer and cheers to ya!!.

  • Very nice job dude. This song is extremely hard. I get tired on the hi hats too. Sometimes im lazy and play with two sticks on it. :P Keep it up tho!

  • yeah dude, good work.

  • good job man. i was 12 when i first played this song, cudnt get more then 3/5 done with the hi hat cuz it was so tiring. im 15 now, still cant do the whole song.

  • Songs of the like used to wear me out at your age as well, keep practicing and you'll get there bud.

  • Very nice hi hat work

  • awesome. you had a very smooth flow with the song which is great.

neil peart also said this was the hardest song he's every written for drums. so nice job even more

  • Thank you and I didn't know that, you learn something everyday. I've never been comfortable playing this tune.

  • nice job

  • Very nice! Jam on!
