A stock Type S should be around the 250 whp range. Comptech (aka CT Engineering) in commenting about their dyno results for their supercharger kit says there's about 5 hp at the wheels difference between a TL, AT & MT. AT's have lockup clutches which cancel slip at the torque convert, however internal parasitic losses of the AT's excess of gears results in slightly greater losses than an MT.

280 whp more believable from the MT, not an AT. The J32A3 (i.e., the 3.2L motor, makes 288 whp w. the CT supercharger + CAI + exhaust. It's hard to believe the same power range is achieveable from the relatively small displacement increase along with similar mods similar mods in a conventionally-aspirated build.

I fele it was limited in the top end by the merge pipe (j-pipe) whch I put back to stock for some more low end torque at the drag strip where my 1/8th mile times were lacking, but trap speedswere amazing. Looks like it may hurt top end HP though. I actually found this video my searchinfg for other TL's with my numbers and came across this. get at me if interested.

@gerzand, sweet ride you have. From the mess of dynos and stats off Gen 3 TL posts on ACURAZINE, the mods you have (also assuming intake/exhaust) makes sense for the Type S. Not sure if you have the AT or MT. Not sure also why you're seeing gains from stock J-Pipe, but your results prove it. I have an ALTP J-Pipe along with Greddy Evo2, ATLP hi-flow mid cat, & AEM CAI, plus other secondary mods...I'm assuming I'm getting high 240s to maybe low 250 whp.

@EvOcho a CAI wont give u much HP altought tons of people claim they will. and stright pipes wont unless ur forced induction (which stright pipes reduce back pressure) and the car is tuned for backpressure from CATS. so if u take away the back pressure without tuning it, your car isnt getting more horsepower. throttle body spacer is the gayest thing ever, my friend has one in his si. Im not hatin cuz im buyin a TL type s, but sorry man those mods are not giving you 40 hp.
