  • looks great, thanks!

  • i have very light swirls on my car. i have a variable speed buffer, what speed should i use? i think 3 maybe, but i dont wanna burn through the paint. any ideas?

  • Kyle, My moms 1994 Jeep Cherokee (BLACK) Two Door, has this UGLY scratch on the driver side and its very very long, Do you think this would help, Or would we have to have it completey redone, I really hope not a paint job, I hope this would do the trick.

  • this video really helped me with my car thanks man

  • Great video! As well as the Davidsfarm responce for removing the clear coat issues.

We have a Bonneville with some bad paint...so ill have to see what we can do with it!

  • ur cats real cute.

  • Thanks man!

  • Spot on bro. I use a similar process for my BMW and it works quite well on the jet black paint. You can do it all by hand too, just takes a little bit of muscle though.

  • You are right about that, that sounds great, it worked wonders removing swirls on my 07 lexus es350

  • you should get a power polisher with varible speed it works much better

  • Yeah I thought about something like that but I haven't had the time to look into it haha, plus I'm trying to save money before I head to pharmacy school this fall lol :P

  • Man that cat is awesome!

  • Yeah she sure is LOL :D

  • Thanks for the video!

  • No problem!

  • thnks man this'll really come in handy in my business. one question tho where can i buy the auto magic xp polish?? thnks again.

  • Well idk if you can get it online or try to find a dealer, we can't get it anymore but you can just buy some cleaner wax (rubbing compound) at an auto parts store, I personally like meguiars

  • there was a kitty

  • Yeah there sure was, she's a sweet kitty haha

  • what is the automagic stuff you used? How is it different from the NXT wax? Also can you do this by hand with a microfiber?

  • The auto magic stuff is a commercial cleaner wax but it is just like any other cleaner wax out there on the market, such as Meguiars, Mothers, Turtle wax, etc. Yeah you can, it'll take a lot more hand polishing but you can get similar results. Won't be quite the same though, the buffer is able to take thing out a lot easier being that it spins that much faster.

  • I just got a pontiac G8 in dark red and as soon as I got it home i noticed everyware on the paint or the car it had like Swirl marks. Like as if someone took a harsh brush to it when they washed it. I'm showing it to the dealer on monday. do you think they can remove these swirl scratches? because they seem to be kinda deep in the paint.

  • Aww man that's terrible!! You should be able to with a little bit of work. The biggest trick is to run your fingernail in the scratch and if it catches then it's too deep, but if you can run your fingers over it easily then you can most likely take it out!

  • I know it's terrible!! LOL, but I'm talking to management today And I think they could fix it... I hope... it's really my new baby!.

  • Well good luck, I can imagine how that must feel lol, let me know how it goes!

  • yea thanks for the advice

  • no problem!

  • ok so why do u have onother vidoe of ntxx wax??cuase i see that you already applied ntx wax the last bottle or is that diferent??

  • It's the same thing, the other video just showed the gloss and depth of the side after I completely finished it, I thought it looked like a tinted window it was so clear, that what it was originally titled but I decided to change it. But yeah like I said, nothing different, just the end results

  • Great videos!! better than stupidvillage :P jaj i am gonna try this!!

  • hahaha I appreciate it! I just try to show people how it is in the easiest was I know. i'm starting to do a lot more hot to videos these days, they're pretty popular! Good luck!!

  • Nice video. I might do it sooner or later. I always wanted to do it but i don't know how and since my car doesn't look shinny anymore after I bought it new 3 years ago.

It might be more obvious if you do it in the day light, but the different is still visible.

    Thanks for the tutorial.

Out of topic: Miao (cute cat)

  • Thanks a lot, I'm glad I was able to help, if you have any other questions about it just let me know! Anytime, thanks again!

    Kyle

  • i want to know what those products names were. You showed 3 kinds of products, the NXT, the red bottle thing, looks similar to what i have in my garage, and the AutoMagic. You only used the NXT and the AutoMagic, so should I just get that 2 kinds? Also, I saw you change the foam, one is white, and one is brown and white, what were the differences and is it necessary to change them?

    Thanks!

  • very goood video. i jus recently picked up meguires swirlx a new product they just came out with. have u seenit yet

  • Thanks a lot, yeah I actually got a bottle of it, works pretty good!

  • As a professional, I have a few tips for you. Meguairs D151 (Paint Reconditioning Cream) is an excellent product to use, if I don't mind buying it a gallon at a time. NXT Tech Wax 2.0 should be allowed to setup for at least 15 mins before you wipe it off.

  • Awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I always like to check out new products! I always do let the wax sit, but at the time I made this, I didn't know how to edit videos, and didn't have time to really let it set haha.

  • You should use more product. You use way to little! :P

  • You actually don't want to use too much! Too much can sling everywhere and make a mess :( lol

  • alright thxs, i mean im 16 so it doesnt have to look amazing but i would like some, if not all the yellow transfer stuff to come off.

  • Oh yeah I completely understand. Good luck with it, let me know if you have any other questions!

  • alright, i got this free pacifica given to me but the only thing wrong with it is on the side, the person couldnt park well and scraped all the side of it on a yellow post, now the yellow is on my silver suv, how should i remove the transfer of yellow paint?

  • I would get a professional, or if you already have one and are experienced, to take a commercial buffer and some rubbing compound and buff out the paint. then you can go back over and polish it with the cleaner wax and the non abrasive wax! A free pacifica, that's a good deal, I hope it works out! Also adhesive remover I have seen can remove paint like that and is safe for the car as long as you wax it afterwards!

  • appretiated. havnt tried any of ur tips yet but it def seems like u get a good result. guna give it a go if i can find any o them pads.

  • Thanks a lot, let me know if you have any questions

  • random cat

  • haha lol

  • Hey thanks for the great video... I want to try and do this also... few questions. What pads did you use on the drill.... What compound did you use? and did you use a Swirl remover?

  • Hey no problem, well I bought the pads at O'Rileys they're foam polishing pads, what I had is available commercially but I would recommend meguiars professional compound, it doesn't really matter, just based on personal preference. What i had was a household drill and the pad just get affixed in the drill like a drill bit.

  • great video man, your are the man, know I can make look better my car....thank you

  • Thanks a lot dude, glad to hear it, anytime! If you got any questions just hit me up.

  • Now u have to do the rest of the truck.

  • lol I did, check out my video "Meguires 2.0 Tech Wax"

  • Cool video, I definitely have to try that polish and drill attachment combination. I started doing basic wash/wax jobs last summer and made pretty good money, I want to take it to the next level this season and this is definitely the step I needed the most help on, keep up the good work!

  • Awesome, best of luck! Thanks a lot and I sure will!

  • so after removing the swirl marks from the paint, what is the best way to protect the paint from suffering swirl marks again?? How often should you wax your car? Is it necessary to reapply wax everytime you wash your car?

  • the best way to protect it is to make sure you wash and wax in horizontal or vertical patterns, never in circular! you should wax your car probably every 3 months, if it is not garage kept, probably every 2 months, that's just my opinion though. It is not necessary to reapply wax each time unless you strip off the wax with all purpose cleaner or something. in between waxing jobs you can also spray wax it, it's like a liquid you spray on and acts as a temporary wax shield.

  • This is a great vid...now I have hope! Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot, anytime, I plan on getting some more detailing videos up soon, if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

  • Hey I don't know the brand but the only place I have found it is at O'Rilley Autp Parts, they have a wide selection of everything that has to do with polishing/waxing/buffing! It won't allow me to post links so I'll just send it in a message, and if anyone else out there wants a link, I can send it to you as well! I used the drill mounted pad, it doesn't have pictures I don't think, but you can check it out, or better yet, just hit up your local store!

  • Hey,

I was curious what the brand name or title of the polishing sponge is??

I've checked pep boys, autozone and advanced auto parts and no luck. Not Walmart nor Home Depot have anything like it. The closest is the Mothers Powerball, but I want what you got. Could you send me a link where I could buy one online?

    Thanks

  • Hey thanks, no problem at all. I do use clay and will probably do a video on that in the future, but for most details the abrasive compound does just fine. Not many people ask for clay (mostly because they don't know what it is haha) I've used it on my car with fantastic results, if you really want to clean your paint, then the clay is the way to go! I usually just soak them for a while in a mixture of hot water, a little car soap and some all purpose cleaner, then set them out to dry a while

  • Excellent video man, thanks so much.

    Couple questions:

Do you ever use clay? Or is the abrasive compound (first bottle) good enough?

How do you clean your foam after you are done?

  • the main thing that removes the scratches is the action of the buffer with the wax, you can use it to get the wax off too but you will still have to wipe residue off. I have found it better and safer to just wipe it off by hand. A commercial buffer has a high chance of burning paint if you aren't careful, check out my video "how to restore oxidized and faded paint" the pads cost abt 8 dollars each, the drill I borrowed haha, just an ordinary household drill....

  • hi. i thought ur supppose to remove the wax with the buffer--isnt that what removes the swirl scratches? i got a black civic and i did something stupid as i washed it without spraying off the dirt and salt real well and now i got scratches on it. how much was the drill and pads? and is foam the best to use? also does buffing at that speed burn the paint? do u use just light presssure?

  • ...Also, the pads themselves are used for less abrasive wax. you can find them in wool and other material for more abrasive jobs, but I preferably like these and use specific pads for compound and wax. you have a much significantly less of a chance in burning the paint, it's ok to put pressure on it, just keep it moving in steady motion. Hope this helps!

  • descent job, but if you really want to get serious get a porter cable and some menzerna polish and a better wax. Its amazing the difference the right products can make. good job though

  • Thanks a lot, I'm always looking to try new stuff so I'll definitely check it out.

  • what kind of buffer sponge is that?

  • I'm not sure of the brand, but it a polishing "finisher" specific pad. Not intended for waxing or compounding. Only non abrasive wax. You can find them at any auto parts store.

  • hey i watched some of your videos and looked at some of your pictures, and i have to say, you do a pretty good job. By the way nice ES350 =D they are good cars its nice to see that some people still keep their cars clean

ok so I have an Audi A4 Convertible (moro blue pearl paint) and its only a year old or so but I guess it was neglected before I bought it. There are some fine swirl marks that you can only see in direct sunlight, but i still dont like them...any advice on removing them?

    thanks

  • Thanks a lot I really appreciate that! It's always nice to see when it pays off :D First off, nice car! I understand how you feel about wanting it perfect! my best advice would to just use a non abrasive wax like I showed in the video (Meguiars NXT 2.0) If you have a bunch of swirls, try the drill/pad combination I demonstrated. Before you use a polisher, it's always best to just hand wax a particular part of the car in horizontal patterns and see if that takes care of it, you never know!

  • Hey i have a mustang i got painted about 1yr and half ago, the paint looks good, (never bin waxed) but should i just use the auto magic to remove the swirls marks that i have ,,,,,,, and thats it...or also use a finisher wax as well ?

  • since it's new paint that has had time to cure and never been waxed before, I would use any cleaner wax (you don't have to use the auto magic) anything from meguiars, mothers, turtle wax, duragloss, etc. Just do the whole car in horizontal patterns and then wipe it off (it's always better to wax horizontally, circular motions can add to the swirls over time). After wiping off, put a coat of the finishing wax, hope this helps, good luck! If you have any other questions just hit me up!

  • nice that really helped me alot, thanks dude...

  • I'm glad to hear it, anytime!

  • Well that depends on if it is deep or not. If the scuff marks are deep enough to catch your fingernail if you rub it then yeah I would touch it up. Light scratch marks can be buffed out by using this technique but using compound first! You can buy the pads at any auto part stores, I bought these at O' Rileys.

  • where you get those pads to fit on a drill gun? or do they all normally fit. & any tip for getting scuff mark off a bumper, somebody who can't drive scuff up my bumper a bit on the new ride.. i was thinking some touch up paint

  • Great video..listen i have a problem i have a 2006 scion Tc and has a lot of swirls...i have tried a lot of products and nothing..i have tried Nano wax..McGuire's 3 step system...and other more none of them works...

  • I appreciate it, what color is your Scion btw? Have you tried polishing it with the device I used in the video or something similar? I have learned that you can virtually remove swirls with using that and a good wax. I bet the 3 step system would work wonders with using a polisher! Check out my video on "How to remove swirls and scratches" I do a black expedition and you can see what I mean!

  • oh and just to clear something up as well haha, when I say polish, I mean a non abrasive wax lol, the order is rubbing compound, wax, non abrasive wax. Some people call wax polish and get things confused lol

  • Excellent video, Kyle - really enjoyed that, and very helpful.

  • Thanks a lot I really appreciate it, if there's anything I can help you with in the future with a demonstration or question, just let me know. Thanks again, take care.

  • Thanks!!

  • Anytime!

  • Thanks for the detailed explaination. I've seen rubbing in my country. (BTW, I'm from Sinngapore.) What is rubbing compound? Is it abrasive and does it dull the paint work?

  • It's no problem at all thanks or checking out my video! Rubbing compound is the most "abrasive" clear coat safe wax you can buy. It is mostly used in 3 step waxing, which includes: compound, waxing, and polishing. Compounding should only be used for paint surfaces that have been neglected, scratched, or over all dull. It will make the paint look dull but it is completely normal! It should always be followed by a cleaner wax then a polish, to bring out the paint's natural luster, hope this helps!

  • Wat's the compound you used 1st before the NXT Wax?

  • It's a commercial compound/cleaner wax made my Auto Magic, it's not a full blown compound. I only tend to use compound on faded paint and color restoration. I don't really care for the Auto Magic stuff I used because it's a little oily and tends to sling everywhere if you're not careful. It's all I had at the time so yeah lol. I would recommend you go buy some Meguiars professional rubbing compound at an auto parts store or some equivalent product, I think they provide better results!
