Yellow? but I thought rail transportation was the new green?? What a waste if they are just sitting there rusting. How about melt them down and use them to build stuff like new rail cars, or better yet engines for our commuter trains so they can replace the old dying ones that keep making me late for work. (thanks AmTrak, hope those fed tax subsidies are doing you well.)
@MiGeighteen Huh. So let's see if I follow your train of thought. You think we should melt down tese perfectly useable intermodal cars that are stored due to the downturn in the economy and turn them into new cars so that they can be placed into storage as there is no need for them due to the downturn in the economy.
@charlieb640 Mainly being sarcastic there bud, don't get all bent out of shape. I would prefer to see them hauling cargo instead of sitting and rusting. I certainly don't like to see miles of unused stock sitting in the middle of a picturesque state. They shouldn't be there anymore though right? "Recovery Summer" and all....
@charlieb640 all good man. Good to see they are back out. Yes Rec Summer is sarc too. Unfortunately. I don't care who does it, but someone needs to let the businesses start growing again.
Most are being pulled of storage as the economy is improving. Mostly autoracks and lumbercars.

@MiGeighteen No questions at all and I missed the 'sarcasm'. My bad.
I had over 1500 in storage in our facility and with the exception of a few hundred cars that need to have new lining put in they're all out.
Recovery Summer? Is that sarcasm too?
