Did you ever feel self conscious in China? I hear if you aren't Chinese everyone stares at you.

I studied Mandarin in college, and have been speaking it for 20 years. Because I speak a foreign language, I have been able to travel around the world and have my employer pay for it. I lived in China for 3 years, but moved back to the US years ago. I keep up to speed by going to Chinese restaurants and practicing with the help there.

May I ask you a question? Why is it that you know how to speak mandarin?

may 1st 2009, i leave for shanghai china. as a crazy American. i need to ask my host to show me the walmart. iam interested in seeing it for myself!
