dude you are awesome, also i've found that the single player would stop but if you kill CoD2SP_s.exe in taskmanager then restart the game it works i did this in a batchfile using taskkill do the same with needforspeed underground 2 it seems like it's something todo with rundll32.exe the game wont run if that's not loaded first it seems hope this helps somebody out cuz dude you saved me going back to XP thanks again

besides setting xp compatibility you need to match windows sound quality and cod2 sound quality to 44khz or the game wont start. tested on dozen vista configurations, worked on 100% of them. hope this helps, game is pretty much still alive :)

It really does work. I thought when you couldn't see the game running that it was a pisstake, but just tried it. I didn't have the CD thing you specify in 'Recording', but did have a disabled device. Enabled it, all good. Thank you.

i have a different problem, i have win 7 64 bit and when i run the game through xfire it runs ok till the map is loaded then i get a black screen and the menu. i can choose sides and weapons then its all black. i've tried TAB+Alt but it still stays the same (i see the picture until i move my mouse and then its black again).

Guys if its not working.And you have the Cd , follow these Instructions:

1: Put Cd in.

2: Dont Run.

3: Go to My Computer.

4: Right-Click. and press open (to view files)

5: Run the Set-up.

What graphics card do you have or onboard graphics version?

Yry running the game in compatability mode as win xp sp2 AND ad admin.

Rightclick the icon, go to properties, click the compatablility tab, select the 2 options.
