The bigger question of course is a policy question. Why are we continuing to meddle in the internal affairs of other countries. In addition to the ongoing fiascos in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have 700 bases in 140 countries throughout the world at an annual cost of many hundreds of billions of dollars.
