  • Ive been weight training for about 6 months now and have discoverd that there are about a million different ways to do it.  Ive been using a MAX OT type training for the past 3 weeks. Is it "Ideal" to achevie failure on the last rep of the last set? If not what is the ideal way to "fail"?

  • @davidstrub No. you are not supposed to actually gail on the last rep neccessarily. if you know you can stop, then stop before you fail.

    so if you did 5 reps on bench, and know you cant do another without failing, just stop. So you are still going till failure by doing every rep possible, you are just not actually failing

    typically 4-6 reps to positive failure per set

    2-3 minutes of rest in between sets

    6-9 sets per major muscle group

    1-2 major muscle groups per workout

    5 workouts a week

    Use compound movements rather than isolation movements. As for form, cheating is okay as long as it isn't dangerous or limits the range of motion.

  • BRO I training this system for the last 4 years from what I see you are completely wrong in most of your routine exercises.

  • Once again, why dont you use full depth in your reps on your dumbbell press. And also you might wanna twist your hand every rep almost to starting position which results in even deeper movement and recruting more muscle fibers.
