  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO!!! I need to do a Physics Lab on the Hero's Fountain. I love you so so much right now. <3

  • can you tell me if I can make similar one with the sema principle for a Garden fountain...I maen with more solid material?

  • thats so cool

  • what is another way to keep out water if u dont have play-doh

  • Buy usin dat der play-duh

  • @maxykid55 candle wax, super glue... use your head!

  • This may sound like a stupid question, but where can you get acrylic tubing? Can you buy it from an ordinary, everyday grocery, or do I have to go a hardware store?

  • drinking straws :)

  • just get standard tubing for fish tanks its 50 cents a foot u can find it at any petstore

  • At teh acrylic tubin store dumby

  • no, the fountain lasts only as long as it takes the middle bottle to fill up the lower bottle with water. Trust me i am using this to spin a water wheel for a rube goldberg machine

  • thats fuckin EXTREME

  • inorite?

  • does it run for ever? i think then it must produce energie, or?

  • dude it is impossible to make energy it must last for a long time though

  • i know that a pepetomobile (i think it named like this) is impossible, but i don't understand this system, so i thought maybe it's possible... *confused*

  • because it is beautiful

  • OMG a perpetual motion device?

  • how does it work

  • cool

  • thats pretty smart !!

  • Brianna's a bitch man, but dude fuck your voice, your brains the important thing here

  • Wow, maybe we use this for our wedding rather than the chocolate fountain my fiance wants. This could save us big bucks and a lot of calories!

Love your voice ... I can say that because I'm not married yet. :)

  • I'm going to have to get this magazine...such cool stuff.

  • Ya - very cool!

  • cool

  • Haha, neat-o!

    -UmbaFlicks

  • well well, something looks like a perpetual motion machene (yes i know its impossible, just saying, it looks like it)

  • cool but, yea...

  • Cool.

  • what if we used this but a bigger scale much larger and used it like a weak water powered engine we might even solve the energy crysis or whatever just thinking

  • na, I don't think so. If it would work, the water would at least shoot up a bottle's length

  • well there's no such thing as perpetual motion, factors like inertia and friction prevent something like that from actually creating more energy than it uses...there are some interesting theories out there though on the subject

  • that actually sounds brilliant but the only problem would be we would need a source of air pressure strong enough to move a quantity of water large enough to power a single house let alone a neighborhood. I know this because my emergency generator is based on this design.

  • The water in the middle bottle is going down as it goes up in the lower bottle, so it will stop when the bottom bottle is full.

  • add some watercoloring next time!

  • Does the air pressure build from pouring water on the top, pushing the water on the lower level up to the surface through pipes?

    Genius man!

  • how much it will last?

  • It depends on how much water you add. A few minutes.

  • I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that gravity and is helping out. Thus the weight of the water is pushed into he next bottle as a result forcing air and creating pressure which presses water out of the next bottle. Basically a more complex version of someone sipping through straws. As long as water stays in the system, the volume of the liquids and gasses will stay constant and keep it perpetual assuming gravity doesn't turn off? I want to make this in series and create a nice case to hold it.

  • Sort of...but it will not last forever. The air pressure overcomes the water pressure in bottle {b}, (see link for a diagram) but unfortunately when the same bottle {b} is full of air, the fun stops....no perpetual motion.

  • Darn it.

  • Oh, I can see it now. Darn it! i was overzealous.

  • actually kind of cool

  • Thanks. It's really easy to build too!

  • you should do one with patrolium baralsmaybe?any barrel really, and use pvc pipe, it would be big and awesome!!!!!:)

  • That would be cool, I assume it would work. Maybe something for Maker Faire?

  • Maker Faire?

    whats that
