He is translating and adding stuff to the question too in order for them to answer more clear. My japanese is still crappy but i understand Die and Kaoru better than the translator. xD no offense.
yea, It's kinda sad that people would boo at them. When I saw them in June with Deftones, during Kyo's acapella, this dude screamed out, "DEFTONES!" It pissed me off so much!
Is it just me..or do some people here..fucking stereo type japanese culture..as not being..and when you mention heavy metal and japanese bands..pplz say fuck that...and think they're just fucking being posers...cuz ive had pplz say that..when i mention..say..dir en grey..and heavy metal..and i show em..something like...Saku..or I'llD Empire..or the marrow of bone album..and they say..thats not fucking heavy..i honestly think thats stupid
I hate it, too! Diru has their own style. Let's show these jerks Obscure and that will shut them up. Or I would simply say, "If they sucked so much, they wouldn't have been around for 11 years!"
haha trust me..i thought it was shinya at first too cuz of the blonde hair but then..if you listen to his voice..then listen to shinya's voice..theres a slight difference :P
I mean Shinya! Not Kaoru. XD (total opposites...lol)
They're amazing live, if I were near someone booing... they would die.
I ran into my friend at the FVT tour & she was with her other friends, & they'd never heard of Diru but they all said how much they sucked and patted each other on the backs for it.
Been friends for 7 years but we didn't speak for months after that. But we're friends again we just... mutually don't mention "the incident." Though I still think she was lame.
BULLSHIT.I adore Dir En Grey and Im from america and i small ass town at that and if ANYONE. I SAY ANYONE. Would ever boo them i would kick there ass.
There music is very inspireing and i think its great how they explore a varity of topics[rape abortion etc] in there songs.
I don't think it's so much that Americans are rude, but Deftones fans. When I went to see DeG with the Deftones, I was royally pissed off at the way the Deftones fans were disrespecting DeG, booing and flipping them off and such. I actually bitched out this dude I was so mad. But when I went to see DeG the first time, when they were headlining their own tour, it was amazing. So pretty much, Deftones fans suck!
oooohh myyy gaaawd! People booed them?? I cant believe it... theyre SOOOO good! I saw them live two days ago, and they made SUCH an impression that the whole room was actually quiet. you could hear NOTHING except Kyo`s voice... it was SOOO amazing!!
When I saw them, it was the first date at Islington and I didn't hear anybody booing, or see anyone throw things at them. It was one of the best gigs I've ever been too!
i agree with most of the comments that have been posted.there is a lack of respect to unknown bands.i dont like to boo people it just not nice.i live in america. yeah it bothers me how people get bold or try to act cool and boo bands. but luckly at the deftones concert no boos but one asshole said "you suck" in the end. i was like "wtf?" my friend cussed him out. i cant lie though in europe there is a bigger dir en grey fan base than here. that must be why they go there more. i love diru.
Heh... I wouldn't have if I were there. I was actually thinking about going to that concert but I didn't.
I'm willing to go out on a limb here though and say that the amount of Americans that are familiar with Dir En Grey and understand the music is probably pretty small. Of course there could have been other reasons too...
Yah thats true. But still i would never boo a band because someone by me might love them and I would hate it if someone booed the band I love. You know?
I know what you're saying. I've never booed anyone before and don't think I'm going to start anytime soon. But I've been to concerts where I had no idea who the opening act was and thought that they sucked. I didn't boo them but I wasn't cheering them on and certainly wasn't above talking about the band or their fans...
I'm going to stop defending them though. I just wanted to say that maybe not everyone booed for the same reason. Not all of us are like that.
i am appaled by the rudeness of the Americans. Dir en grey were in England and i went to see them in concert and they were amazing. I dont see any reason for booing cause Kyo sounded incredible live, his voice was divine.
I should probably start over. I originally posted because Faeries365's comment made a blanket statement saying AMERICANS booed them. I just defended those people because I didn't want people to think all of us are like that. I probably should have just said this in the first place but it was a reaction I guess.
At least I can say that I saw a video someone made from when they played in my area and no one booed them.
I loved the fact that they both talked in this interview!! I was beginning to think the only job that second band member had was to sit and look pretty. ^_^
Was it just me or did Kaoru seem a little antsy in this interview? Especially during part one.
Dir en grey was on Mtv sweden.. and I missed it all, or almost. Saw the last bit of the interview.. damn. It feels like they are getting bigger and bigger...
Dir en grey doesn't have real control over sales of their items. You might want to pitch that idea to Free Will America and maybe push them to see if they can re-release some stuff. :) I know how crazily expensive CDs and merch is.
Plus, asking them about Portland and Seattle is a little bit biased, don't you think? You may want to ask a general "how was it being on the west coast?" question.
Next album? Why waste a question? You'll probably just get a "wait and see" or a "we're not sure."
Die was immortally beautiful D: i walked past him when he was watching Fair to midland practice on us putting up the banner, and he was SO PERFECT D: i near enough melted and flailed but we managed to hold out calm and not act fan-ish xD
hahaha world of dir en grey!that made me giggle so much xD
i saw the request list the band had given the venue and they had well over 100+ of alot of alcohol XD lmmfao and so much food it was hilarious i think kyo was hungry ¬_¬; xD
Did you work at the venue or something? And haha, all that alcohol sure sounds like them, Die probably requested most of it and they definitely need to eat a lot of food.
Yeah, I felt sad when I heard that. Even if people don't like the bands they should be patient and considerate to the people who did come to see them.
He is translating and adding stuff to the question too in order for them to answer more clear. My japanese is still crappy but i understand Die and Kaoru better than the translator. xD no offense.

why would an english interviewer ask loads of questions about america??
like hinaningyou said.. they did ask about the reaction in general.

This has been flagged as spam show
my point exactly...
Rexy666 4 years ago
They did ask about their experience in America in general.
Please explain why it is OH SO IMPORTANT that they ask about Portland and Seattle specifically.
And for the record, they said that towards the end of the tour, the fans were more accepting.
Portland and Seattle were at the end of the tour, so there you go.
