As Patrick Campbell said, several of the members of Congress he worked with said that, if not for the old GI Bill, they wouldn't be sitting where they are today.

How McCaine was against helping vets is beyond me - especially when his Party is the one who lied us into the current wars. I'm against sending our heros to Iraq. The VERY least we can do is treat them right when they get home. Now we need to upgrade the VA hospitals.
All the Vets past and present are pulling for you Paul and Senator Webb,who fought in my war many thanks,you are the true hero of this wonderful legislation.

Thank God for Webb and Hagel... and Paul Rieckhoff. As Nin says... God bless you all, and God bless our many soldiers and veterans. And SHAME ON McCAIN AND BUSH for trying to give McCain credit for this legislation when he was against it.
This goes to show you how important it is to vote. ..Sen Webb barely won in VA.
A lot of IAVA are running for office in '08,please support the good ones of either party.
Sen Hagel is to be commended also! There are some decent republicans out there.

Congratulations to the IAVA, sending war vets to college greatly helped the US after WW2 it should work now.
