  • let's just say, she was lucky. but i think it's a bad idea to let such small girls/boys ride in this kind of competitions...

  • @turpoemmelie She aint gonna learn unless she does. Mabye not on a horse this size but the rider size doesn't matter. This horse looks like a great horse most barrel horses would have bolted and he didnt even run when all the guys ran up to him. He triped, it happens to every barrel racer someday. And its still my bigest fear but when it happens to me i'll get up and move on with me carrer just like her.

  • @1233Maya Yeah, in the most of it i agree, but i just mean that she's too young to that sport. But, everybody have their own meaning, so we can all have a fight about it from now and till the world ends. I don't say that she musn't barrel race, i just mean that she's too little and too young.

  • @turpoemmelie why? So if she was your kid you wouldn't let her run barrels? (not do, RUN barrels) I think she should have been wearing a helmet and mabye on a smaller horse but i dont know this horse, it could be that old dead broke horse eveyone loves, almost all barns have that one horse. Ik a mini that will buck u off then kick u sencless but a 16hh mare that is the beginer mare and everyone learns to ride on.

  • @turpoemmelie plus shes 3 years older now soo it doesnt really matter im sure shes biger now. (i just relized that.)

  • @1233Maya okay :)

  • What a great horse. Stood like frozen when it (finally)got up

  • no helmet. that says a lot about the parents or trainer who are really "concerned" about her safety.

  • @horsecrazyiieee101 totalllllyyy agrred!

  • Poor thing!! but shes a cowgirl shes okay

  • Poor horse cant even get up because of the tie down and that little girl should be wearing a helment

  • @25BuckleBunny Touché. :-)

  • The kid was freakin' tied to the saddle!!! What idiot parent ties their kid to a horse??

  • the girls does this voluntarily, the poor horse is forced to do what this girl wants...poor horse...the girl stills rides..that tells all. i just feel sorry for that horse...for all horses being ridden..but never for the riders..they know the risks

  • @doedel234 i undrstand where ur coming from yes we know the risks and most of the time its the riders fault, but where do you think we would be with out horses. horses are the back bone of the whole of man kind. there majestic and should be treated kindly.

  • That's what happens when you put a Magic Seat on & rubber band her feet in!! Thank God the horse didn't freak out. Good pony. Glad she wasn't hurt.

  • lol dont feel sorry for girl shes relly strange but i feel relly sorry for the horsey dont care if dat girl dies! lol

  • @luluandjacob how the hell can you say that?? that is a little girl! she didn't do ANYTHING wrong and doesn't deserve some retard saying that she should have died!!

  • Wow would if the horse did take off, that would have been terrible...

  • agreed to both....i am 24 years old and ride with a helmet every time....more people should set examples for children.....im not attacking anyone because thankfully helmets are becoming more and more common in events :) i had my horse fall on me and had it not been for a helmet i would have been hurt bad! i have been riding since i was that little girls age it wasnt because of my skill level it was just and accident. and they happen just that fast! glad she is ok!

  • that is one damn good horse that horse could have took off from freaking out so bad.

  • pore horse yer run to the kid and leave the horse

  • Y'all need to can it who is saying where a helmet. ITS THERE CHOICE. where i live noone has one, its there option shut up!

  • @horseshowgirl123 Free speech... no one has to shut up about anyone's bad decisions. sorry.

  • I totally blame the parents and instructor. How dare they let a small child go in there with no helmet and a giant horse. That kid shouldn't have been barrel racing or riding that horse until she get's big enough to handle it.

  • This wasn't the horse or riders fault. It was more like the parents fault. God Damn you should've put a helmet on the kid. Seriously it only cost $40.Something way worse could've happened.

  • this is stupid, why should a 4 or 5 year old child be cantering fast on a big powerful that she porbably cant even controll, but she probably has the harshest bit on the horse and the horse turning sharp corners, and she isnt even wearing a helmet, they heads are still growning if they get damaged at that age they are damaged for the rest of there life. stupid parents, they shouldnt let therie child do that even if the child was begging. idiots need to be locked up.

  • The poor horse tripped...its not his fault!

  • OMG!!! Is she ok?? I would of tested the horse before I put put anyone else on!!

    Just a thought!!

  • disgusting. I was tied to the saddle as a little on and have a permanant back injury from a fall similar to this.

  • Kleine Kinder ohne Helm auf Pferde setzen, dafür aber ein Westernhut tragen.

    Lächerlich.

  • OMG ARE THEY OKAY?

  • @AdorkableLex I know, but you would think that they would put one on a kid as small as her.

  • as far as i know, they never wear a helmet in the western riding branch.

pretty stupid if you ask me.

  • why would'nt u wear a helmet i mean anything can happen. and maybe she shouldnt have been on a horse that big

  • She's not even wearing a helmet for goodness sake!!!

  • @BarnSour4Prince i agree!!! i had to many accidents and im 21 and i ride in them but i make my nieces always wear them!!!

  • @Life4Rodeo Do you know who Courtney King-Dye is? Olympic dressage rider? She was schooling a horse ON THE FLAT and the horse tripped and and put her in the hospital in a coma for a while. That could have been prevented if she were wearing a helmet. It's so sad.

  • @BarnSour4Prince i have heard of her yes....i agree with you...i always wear helmets now! i was lucky the dr said i almost broke my neck!

  • @Life4Rodeo I'm glad you're ok! That must have been very scary.

  • @BarnSour4Prince thank u! two me two weeks to walk proberly, and a week to try to ride but its taking me about a month or so to get over my accident...im taking things very slowly to build my confidence up! i will always wear a helmet now...people can say what they wish but it is my choice. but i wont give up on riding,,, its a part of me!

  • @BarnSour4Prince You don't wear helmets in western riding.

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT! (Sorry for bad lanugue) The poor child! Would people have any sense !! The child was hurt. C'mon she was hung upside down off a horse twice the size of her! And a helmet may have come in handy. You idiots, making a 4 year old ride barrel racing! Shame on you

  • Omg I feel sooooooooooooo sorry for the horse

  • That's not fair at all. She is too small for horse.she was turning him too tight around that corner. She was practically barrel racing at the age of four

  • @berrifieldthethird I am glad that you agree with me.

  • @berrifieldthethird I totally agree with you. It doesn't matter about how big you and your horse is. Still it wouldn't have hurt for the poor girl to wear a helmet.

  • I rode massive horses from the first day i learned to ride, they prolly put her on that big horse cause he/she knew what he was doing. In my opinion, its not size its temperment. and any horse couldve fallin down like that,it happens. and whether its a big horse or a a small pony, its gonna hurt her either way. if the horse is totally bombproof then by all means let her ride. mine is 17h and little kids ride her,but i know she wont act up. Its all about tempermant.

    I rest my case.

    I rest my case

  • Should have a helmet...

  • i feel sorry for the horse :(

  • i feel sorry for the horse :(

  • omg so scary

  • Oh that is so scary for her! I'm glad to hear that she is alright and that she is still riding!

  • All the people yelling is not gonna help. Its just gonna scare the little girl.

  • i rode big horses from day one she had control of him he simply fell not his fault and it happens even to the best riders out there you dont have control of that. I see no issue of her riding this horse. Where i used to ride we had 2 16 hd tbs that we used regularly for the kids and for camps. If the horse is child safe and the child can control it then there is no problem with it.

  • As cute as it is to see a tiny girl riding a huge horse, it's also very dangerous. When I was five, my old riding teacher put me on a 16.3 hand warmblood jumper. The photos of me cantering around and jumping are adorable, but I realize now how dangerous that was. Now I help teach children, some of them disabled, how to ride. No student, English or Western, is allowed on a horse without a helmet. Also, we put small children on small ponies. This girl's trainer should have done the same.

  • Accidents happen to everyone, the horse tripped and luckily those folks were nearby to help her. I do have to say the audience screaming their lungs off wasn't helping the situation anyhow. And poines aren't any safer that horses; same package, same damage just shorter.

  • Ridexonxstars I agree , tht is like how I was 4 yrs old jumping . And now we are moving onto alot of land and building a barn and having our friend who's barn collasped do her buisness on it too

  • I agree, she is way too small to be riding that big horse. She's too young to be barrel racing in general. Glad she was okay, though.

  • @ridexonxstars i disagree with her being to young its great to start young and if she is old enough to control the horse and has the training for it then i dont see a problem with it. Especially if you have a horse that will go the speed the child wants this horse seemed to do just that he simply fell and she got caught up it can happen to anybody.

  • she was shaken but she should have worn a helmet an also should have a smaller horse

  • That was scary

How old is she and wiz she ok???!!!!

    Was the horse ok???!!!! :o

  • That's really scary

  • was she ok ????????????? :O

  • OMFG that was a scary fall :o

  • Thank goodness for the child's sake that adults were nearby to grab the horse. Luckily, the horse didn't panick. This could've been a very nasty accident that could've killed that kid. It makes me nervous seeing little kids on big horses. That's what ponies are for -less distance to the ground.

  • No you say shes not hurt? THEN WHY IS SHE CRYING

  • @ProRiderBrakennCharl You idiot...she's a little girl, she just fell off a big horse and had her leg caught in the stirrup. She was literally hanging there. Of course she's going to cry, she's just a kid. Aside from that, little kids cry over scraped knees. She could've easily gotten some superficial bruises, the important part is she didn't break any bones or get any stitches. I gotta stop looking at youtube comments...

  • it doesn't necessarily matter how small you are vs. the size of your horse although it does play an important part i rode a 16 hand barrel racer when i was about 8 what matters is how the horse responds to you & if you can truly make it listen & how they act outside their barn like my horse Imp can be the best horse at home & crazy at a show yes, this girl shouldve been wearing a helmet, but she seemed to be okay. you CAN wear helmets at rodeos and depending on the horse i'm riding, i use one.

  • That girl is way too small for that horse. Not to mention she should be wearing a helmet.

    -shakes head-

  • Saw that coming. The parents should be shot for that. How stupid can you be? I'm not gonna fault the rider because she CLEARLY is unable to make rational decisions on her own. But then...kids are pretty smart..

  • helmet

  • awesome horse to just stand there.....

  • hahahahhahaaaa. that was a good video. hopefuly she was ok. it looked like she was.

  • So why is she tied to the stirrups, why doesn't she have a helmet and why did her parents think it would be fun to see how quickly they can get their kid killed?

  • Damn good horse not to freak out with a rag doll attached to his side. I love how the people in the front row stand up to see whats going on but do nothing to try and help.

  • Ouch!!!

  • 'the little girl is still riding on this day.' i don't give a shit. how IRRESPONSIBLE are you as a parent, to put a little girl like her on a big horse? i mean, what about the horse? UNBELIEVABLE. this really pisses me off...

  • if my daughter went racing like that she would have a hat a body protector and a 12.2 pony ( i dont have i child btw) and i am an english rider so i dont care what you say about the body protecter and hat you SHOULD wear one lots of people DIE from not wearng a hat you know :(

  • if that a right gilr??? i think it was a doll

  • young kids that compete in that sort of event should ALL wear helmets...?

  • im a english rider but i luv to barrel race

there is no way of preventin this, it was not the girl, parents nor horse fault !

she's an up and coming barrel racer,

she obviously had control of the horse,

and the horse didnt freak and roll over ontop of her, so hes obviously quiet, and thinks

the second that horse was down, people were running to help her,

so youtubers stop blaming her parents, the horse, or the girl for what ever reasons that apparently they are doin somethin wrong

  • @TheRubyRose13 yes but there is a diffference between allowing a very young girl like that to compete like that, and letting her learn to ride securely. yes the horse was very quiet, and an honest horse but accidents like that will happen and when you a bit older and more physically "tough" its not so bad, but for a girl that age it could end horribly, the girl looks like 6, wait till shes 9 to let her compete, let her get a secure seat, and like i said i bit"tougher" and she;ll be fine

  • Okay, for all of you idiots out there who think this girl shouldn't be riding this horse: In case you haven't noticed, she was in FULL CONTROL of the horse AT ALL TIMES. What happened to her WAS NOT HER FAULT, nor was it the horse's fault. I'm sure the parents knew what they were doing when they put her on this horse, and it is none of your business to say otherwise.

  • as an instructor who has worked with children of all ages, NO child that young should be running a horse like that. The parents should be ashamed for not putting a helmet on her. I don't care how well she can hold on, there is no way she can be strong enough to actually controll that animal. Get her a pony that needs to be pushed into a run. AND A HELMET!!!! Brain dammage does not heal as well a broken arm/leg

  • this is ridiculous, why are young people riding massive horses? if that horse decided to bolt, she'd have no chance of gaining control, and what's more, where's the riding hat..?

  • Poor horse can't even get up for the damn tie-down they got on it.

  • I love how everyone started yelling and everyone rushed over to the horse all at once. It's a good thing this particular horse is bomb proof, because any other horse would have spooked just from that and the girl would be hanging off the side of a spooked horse that would probably start bucking, making the situation even worse and endangering her life.

  • That girl looks about 5? Why the hell is she barrel racing, let alone on a horse that size!!!

    Actually stupid!

  • WTH?? Is that girl even old enough?!?!?!?!

That was just stupid to let her barrel race! She looked about 5!!

I am totally against barrel racing anyway.

  • I think it's safe to say that she got what was coming to her.

  • aww she is soo cute.....

  • That's why you wear a HELMET! Baaka!

  • You know, this is insane! Why would a little girl be barrel racing like this anyway?! Her parents need to get their minds together and hold off on their so-called "western riders traditions" and wait until the little girl is older. At LEAST the horse was good enough to know not to roll over! Good horse! (I even think the horse knew NOT to roll over by the way she tried to get up)

  • oh my god. all i have to say is good horse. he tried to get up and when he got him he didn't freak at all.

  • what the hell! a girl THAT small shouldnt be riding a horse that big doing THAT sport, seriously how stupid can people get these days?!

  • @RachaelLatimer About as stupid as you are for making such a comment. Ever heard of an old nag used as a babysitter? ...yeah, didn't think so.

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack shut up. i got more thumbs than you did nyaahaha :L

  • @RachaelLatimer What does that have to do with anything? For your information, I used to be a member on Ebarrelracing, and I have to say that the user who posted this video would more than likely disagree with you.

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack nothing and i don't care whether they were to disagree or not, the whole video thing is stupid :L and dont reply coz i couldnt give two :L

  • @RachaelLatimer Then I'm sorry, but that's YOUR problem.

  • @RachaelLatimer THAT sport honestly!!! i am a hunter jumper but to me anything envolving horses would be fun ppl its time to get your heads out of your ass that little girl obveously loves what she does very much and so do, i if a 6 yr old wants to jump or run bairrls competitively why the hell not??? however she most certainly should have had a helmit on!!!!

  • @RachaelLatimer

imagne the horse lying on her people are so mean if i was there i would yell at them

  • Good horse.

  • omg thats sooo scaryy

  • This stupid, why in the hell would you have a girl that small ride without a helmet and on top of that a giant horse? This is stupid. Barrel racing is dangerous, as is ALL riding, so a helmet SHOULD be worn. Why should barrel racing be an exception to everything else?

  • that looked really scary o.o If I were her mother, I wouldn't let her barrel race anymore <.<

  • I would just like to comment on this, as a barrel racer and former english rider.

In rodeos, you are ALOUD to wear a helmet ! you have to be completely moronic to think your not aloud. its a FREE fucking country !

Also, english riders will watch barrel racing because true horse lovers watch anything involving horses, especially if it says scary fall because 9 out of 10 times we want to make sure the horse is alright. So how about all of you grow up and do some researching.

  • @lilmjpl i agree with you COMPLETELY!!!!! fricken ppl know this could happen and i mean do they WANT 2 take a chance at being paralyzed?!?! i dont think so! and ur right about the last part 2! i ride english:D

  • @purplejumpergirl I know, I was being sarcastic as the girl I was talking to was telling me all bout her 16.4hh horse. Horses are measured in hands - four inches to a hand, so 16.4 is impossible mathematically! :)

  • With ignorance like this out there it is no wonder that barrel racing gets a bad rap. Those of us that actually train without gimmick bits and know how to sit on a horse in a manner that doesn't interfere with it will continued to be slammed by people who see the above stupidity as representative of the sport.

  • You can tell this kid has her feet rubber-banded or tied in the stirrups. Thank goodness the horse didn’t roll completely over or crush her. She’s not wearing a helmet and she has no control going into the barrel. Her dumbass parents need their butts kicked into next week.

  • Was that little girl ok? Very nice horse to stand quietly!

  • that horse TRIED to get up. he didn't want to hurt her.

  • ah thats scary, just because shes so little! What a little cowgirl :)

  • Thats a good horse to stand there. But did they TIE her to the saddle?!?!?!?!

  • OMG! that is me when i was 6! i swere that this is me on here!! who put this on here?! o btw i was not 'tyed in' i had rubber bands on my feet to keep my feet from slipping outta the stirrups.. and the stirrups were real small so my feet just turned over and i was there..that horse was the best horse ever.. her name was Punky.. she is no longer with us since her age and hoof infection got to her...and im still riding even better today! o btw i ran again on the next day after the one on the video

  • @LetzRope Good for you! You got right back on after that fall! Jeez, I saw this and I had to watch again. That must have hurt! Sorry about Punky.

  • helmets, people. honestly what were they thinking?

  • LOL at these western hillbillies putting this like 5 year old on a horse

  • @jamaicajumper16 wow your stupid its a rodeo and i bet this lil girl can ride 10x better than you when you were 5

  • @MagenEfron no shit she was competing, and did i ever say she was a bad rider? no. and it would be impossible to compare me to her since when i was five i was jumping, not barrel racing..

  • @jamaicajumper16 why are you even watching this if your an english rider????

  • @MagenEfron uh i happen to have ridden western before in my life, and i dont only do english..plus, just because i ride english doesnt mean that i dont like watching barrel racing...... i mean come on, when you see something that says "scary fall" you are going to watch it

  • @MagenEfron Wow is she not allowed to watch barrel racing if she's an english rider .. ? There are a lot of english riders who have watched this .

  • @SoberDevotion sty out of this god why cant you just mind your own buisness

  • @MagenEfron ur postin this on you tube, if u dont want people to c it then shutup!!! btw the reason i'm lookin this far back in ht comments is bcuz ur unreal and i was seein if ur comments could get any worse, aparently i haven't seen everything.

  • @miltonluver4 what exactly didnt i want people to see?? and yeah im a bitch so i really dont need you telling me that

  • @MagenEfron I never sed u were a bitch i thought i didnt hav to

  • @miltonluver4 you didnt awnser my question what exactly didnt i want people to see i never remember writing that to someone so refresh my memore if you can

  • @MagenEfron wen u sed 2 SoberDevotion to "sty out of this god why cant you just mind your own buisness" It is ther buisness wen they hav to look at ur stupid wrds wen they watch a video on utube

  • @miltonluver4 actually smart one it wasnt there buisness if they werent involved in the fight so the really didnt need to comment and you think my words are stupid listen to yourself god you spell like a caveman

  • @MagenEfron if u think i actually spell like that you are an idiot, its not fair to other people to have to deal with people like you when they just want to watch a video!

  • @miltonluver4 First off they didnt have to read or comment back on my post!

  • @MagenEfron it bothered them so they did like I'm commenting too

  • @miltonluver4 Ok well some people like you need to lean to keep there mouth shut

  • @MagenEfron Really? Look whos talking!

  • @miltonluver4 Actually wen i argue i make a oint your just being a dumbass and "trying" to offend me well it isnt working i could actually care less about you

  • @MagenEfron good then stop replying you've already tryed to make your "oint" and if you think i am a dumbass then u obviously dont know what ur even saying

  • @miltonluver4 Jesus christ!!!! you seroiusly are a stupid ass arn't you fucking started this and im gonna end it!!!

  • @MagenEfron Thank god!

  • that horse is brilliant but i agree with eventerkatie84 if i was her i might not be riding anymore and i love horses i have one

  • Awww!

  • WHAT A GREAT AND HONEST HORSE !!!

  • aww i think how it was cute...how so many ppl came to the rescue....some ppl say little kids shouldent ride so young on such big horses...but i did it too

  • aww :( she was dangling lik a doll :( im glad she is still riding tho :) i would to!

  • That is an amazing horse, but seriously what were these people thinking?!

  • nice horse, I love how he didnt freak out after it :)

  • As if the girl should be riding a horse that size anyway that is why they have ponies.

  • the horse probably would have jumped right up except for the tie down.... i wish people would correct problems in horses rather than patch them up........

  • dang good horse!

  • Why wasn't she wearing a helmet?? I wear one whenever i get on a horse

  • thank gosh those people got to her. and that horse.

  • why is she tied to the horse? are you kidding me?

  • ouch.. that looked PAINFUL! but i'm glad she's ok! <3

  • Bless the horse, but the girl should of

    1. worn a helmet and

    2. rode a horse/pony more suited to her size. that horse was waaay to big

  • wow =[ and all I could think was "why is such a tiny girl on a horse that size?!?!?"

I mean, when i was riding at a young age, I wasn't even allowed to sit on a horse that was too big for me

  • i am a western rider, and i am 12 years old, i wear a helmet anytime i am on a horses back. Thats just common sense! LOL

  • nice calm horse lucky girl that is upsetting to see though for the horse as well as the girl

  • Poor little girl :( she could of ost her life. That horse was REALLYT calm too.

  • woow omgg :|

ivee seen a little girl smaller than this riding a bigger horse :| at a show :|!

this kid shouldnt be riding this big horse i dont care how good of a rider she is,

like comon people where are your brains!

this is NOT a mean comment,

    im just saying.

  • D: im pretty sure if that happened 2 me i woulda pissed my pants!

  • Little girl+Big horse=nasty fall.

    Wear a helmet next time.

I like western, but i'm a hunter jumper, and i Reccomend helmets to even walking aorund bareback.

  • was she supposed to gallop out of the gate?

  • that child is clearly over-horsed lucky the horse was so good when it got up and didn't bolt off with her around the ring,

agree with below - what were the parents thinking

  • Omg! The poor girl!

  • I totally agree with the people that say she needs to wear a helmet. Putting on a helmet is such a simple way to protect your head. And for 4-h where I live it is required that you wear a helmet for speed events such as barrel racing which I think is a good choice. Thank god that horse did not spook when he feel down!

  • OMG! That horse was wonderful bless it. It didn't panic. It didn't run. It just stood calmly and waited for the safety team bless it. Hope they were both ok :-)

  • WHY IN THE HELL. What parent would give their consent to have their child STRAPPED to a horse that's quite clearly TOO BIG FOR THEM. Get a grip. And I know, western riders don't wear helmets. But come on. If this was my child, i'd rather she wore a helmet and didn't die, thanks. Parenting FAIL.
