  • i hate classifying music but if there was a top grunge band, these guys by far would take the top honors, he had one of the top voices of all time, the music kicked ass, and the lyrics were great, not putting nirvana down, but these guys could roll all over them. sell out or not, who cares. i would see them in an instant, especially with some of the crap groups put out these days. rock on.........

  • i liked the slower version better but its good

  • the best song of sg.

  • Some of you guys need to give Chris a break. He's been active singing since he was 20 and he's 46 now. Of course he's not going to sound like he did 20 or 15 years ago when he was in his prime! But even with that given, he sounds great! Much better than when Scott Weiland started with STP again.

  • chris has trouble hitting the old notes now. painful to listen to. glad they are back though. fuckin awesome.

  • does no one see this reunion as a sham for cornell to save his career if that's possible? Here's a gay-runge classic, this reunion: "Smells Like Pearl Sham"

  • @Alhambrattp i see it as the most awesome thing i have ever seen in my life.

yeah i know he mentioned in an interview that selling out would be reforming soundgarden, but who gives a fuck?

And listen to beyond the wheel from this show if you think he sounds tired, he nails that one.

can you belt out 20 insane hard to sing songs out without having one weak moment?

and if you don't like 'em, why are you posting comments here?

  • @omegalen

They have a thumbs down button too....anyone can watch a video they might be interested in and rate it good or bad....are people stupid enough to think that only good shit will be said about a video they like?!?!

  • His voice sounds tired.

  • @somethingstupid21

Agreed or it sounds relieved that he could do a sham Soundgarden reunion after selling out....which chris said last year he didn't sellout and selling out in his mind would be reforming soundgarden....so I guess he's a sellout.

  • lets suck cock for herion rock, like kurt

  • Say what you like but there are NOT many bands out there that can play in a 7/4 time signature like this and make it sound commercial!!!!!!... Kudos and welcome back boys!! you have been missed!!!!

  • This is like a dream come true.... SOUNDGARDEN IS BACK

  • fuck gay grunge but hail Soundgarden who were so much more than just grunge shit like unlike Pearl shan and Nirvana. Also hail AIC.

  • You can clearly see the ghost of jimi Hendrix in the top left corner

  • @tacohead34 aint that kim thayil?

  • You can clearly see the ghost of jimi Hendrix in the top left corner

  • Fuck the 80's revival shit, lets have a full on 90's revival so we can forget about the total and utter shit of the last 10 years

  • @bobbybin3011 yeah lets suck cock for herion rock like all the junkies did in the 90's yeah full sick cock sucker junkie

  • Grunge comeback would be complete with a Kyuss reunion.

  • the knights of the sountable ride again!!!

  • imagine how it would sound after remastering and remixing

  • when i was in high school the three biggest bands were soungarden, alice in chains, and stone temple pilots. now they are all playing again! thank you god!

  • one word: INCREDIBLE !!

  • Badmotorfinger is the Sgt Peppers Album of grunge. And this performance has so much body to it.

  • cant understand why he gets such a hard time over his voice hes been singin his heart out for 20 years give the chap a break for feck sake he also gave us the best rock n roll of those 20 years aswell

  • to the people who say that chris isnt as great, go fuck yourselves. he is just as good or even better than before. when most people get his age, the tuning drops. he is still rocking in the same key making it not sound like shit

  • he also almost permanently damaged hus voice during the superunknown tour he had to change his singing technique or risk never singing again

  • When i think "grunge", it's never Nirvana or Pearl Jam, It's always Soundgarden and Mudhoney! Listen to how dirty they sound, you almost need a bath after listening to "Superfuzz Bigmuff" or "Louder then Love"!

  • I am just wondering was Matt Cameron the drummer at this show???

  • @t1i9n6a2 Of course.

  • @t1i9n6a2 yeah he is.

  • They sound really great. But Chris is not the same... he's still amazing, but not as good as he was in in the '90s.

  • @l3v3e Voices change, he's older now dude! Ed Vedder and Mark Arm sound different now too! It's a natural part of getting old! Chris is old now dude!

  • @baratheda777 I completely agree with you, but just for the record straight, Chris was alcoholic and a drug addict too. Nothing destroys your voice (as fast) as alcohol does. So, he's really great (even in higher notes too, outshined is a hard song to sing), but his voice not as bright/sumptuous as it was. But I can't wait to see 'em live!

  • @baratheda777 Chris is only 46. That's not that old. Robert Plant is 63...now thats about 3/4 the way up the ladder! LOL And both still sound great!!!

  • @Mainrollman Not to mention the Rolling Stones...

  • @Mainrollman i actually heeard somewhere that the male voice doesnt peak until around age 50....so maybe thats why he can do this easily

  • finally they are back together!! and chris has still got it :) ..thanks for the uploads

  • Dude, this is not grunge. This is heavy rock, at perhaps its purest and finest form since Zeppelin and Sabbath laid down the template.

  • @rdean400

I wonder, was grunge about a sound or about a style? While I would just as soon call Soundgarden a hard rock band, didn't they pretty much start the non-hair rock movement in the late eighties that came to be called grunge?

  • Hmmmm, no they didn't, not even close. They were one of the best rock bands of that era, but in no way did they start the "non-hair rock movement".

"grunge" was a term marketed by record execs to market a certain type of music to a certain audience, nothing more.

  • @ConiferTreez

Like you'd even know. What were you, 7 when they released this album? Ever see the original lineup? SURE you did. Go back to playing with your Border Collies, you useless, poser bullshitter. Hey, do you listen to "grunge" whilst traveling the rustic Spanish countryside?? You remember your trips to Spain, don't you? Collecting Spanish Alanos all the while? Or was in Panama? Joker. Clean that fry station.

  • @ConiferTreez

Who would you say did? Maybe Green River/Mudhoney? Or would you say no one did and it was just a natural evolution in fashion?

  • @ConiferTreez Your quite wrong. The term grunge was coined by Mark Arm of Mudhoney. And then yes used by marketing butt plugs

  • @samarias13 I love Mudhoney lol Well all "grunge era" bands for that matter

  • they sound fucking great.

  • Soundgarden to me represents the last great era in mainstream heavy rock. After they disbanded, everything pretty much went to shit with with the onslaught of nu metal and then emo. To see them back and sounding this good...I guess there might be hope yet. I can't wait for them hit the road and plow down every skinny jeans and mascara wearing metro-sexual freak in sight.

  • f yeah...and the levels are right....guitars up, drums up, vocals not hung out to f'n dry the way audioslave did,...hated that shit, maybe help his voice last, be around longer as well....full on soundgarden, perfect

  • For the power of Hard Rock!!!

  • I kind of hope his solo band was there to hear this.....

  • I hate it when people call this shit grunge. WTF Get a clue.

  • @dukeljk

Grunge is defined by the area where the music came from in the early 90's...

    Seattle.

so this is rightfully called grunge.

Pearl Jam sounds nothing like Alice In Chains, but their earlier work is still grunge.

  • hey guys, I extracted the audio from these "videos" and added artwork and all the info for ya, link on my page in the channel comments section

  • this sounds fucking awesome fuck the haters its been over ten years and their still amazing and only gunna get better!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BACKING FROM THE SHIT.... Cornell still covered in shit

  • SOO FUCKIIING PREEETY AWESOOOOOOME !!!!

My favorite band since my 15 years

    BACKING FROM THE DUST o/////

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE GODS ARE BACK!

  • I worked in this music store (GC) in Seattle a few years back, and this guy I worked with said to me, "that Kim Thayil is a one-trick pony". I laughed and said, "nice trick!"

  • One of the heaviest riffs this side of Hell!

  • wow, they sound amazing! The old Soundgarden stuff just never sounded quite right being played by Audioslave or Chris' solo show band.

  • @meanstreak1977 word.

  • finally they are back fuck yeah !!! I m goin to see them at LOLLA these year !!! fuck yeah !!!

  • THE GRUNGE LORDS ARE BACK BABY!!!

    Hellz yeah.

  • @MiraclePilot this is metal

  • @MiraclePilot They ALL are..amazing, right?

  • @MiraclePilot they are back, but theyre not grunge, okay?

just cause they were seattleans, doesnt mean they are grunge. theyre metal. good old fashioned metal.

  • @mlbmlsnfl That's just your opinion.

The stupid genre bullshit doesn't matter, it's just good music.

  • @mlbmlsnfl Dark, garagy alternative occasionally punk.influenced metal = grunge. More oldschool metal than other grungebands thou

  • SO DAMN COOL

  • Both Matt and Ben sang backup vocals on this one...as powerful as ever.

  • back vocals by Matt Cameron, as always

  • WOAH, this is 2010????????

  • Is that Eddie Vedder partly on Back Vox?!?!?! or is that just someone in the audeience

  • @ZGippe40GK sounds like him...strange

  • I cannot wait untill they come back!! Those who do not believe me, they will be back..because its motherfucking seattle!!!

  • @ZGippe40GK They are officially back dude.

  • I can't believe I was there...

  • Is this for real??

  • Yes it is, and I'm going to see them at lollapalooza this year!

  • I'm so happy. *tear runs down cheek*

  • oh fuck yes
