I needed to read the Chinese subtitles to understand his singing...but his spoken Mandarin is absolutely amazing. I mean, there are many foreign artists performing in China from time to time; they always stutter and mis-pronounce their Chinese when actually conversing. Gackt's Chinese almost doesn't have an accent at all, though. It's very impressive.

General comment regarding the history stuff: What I understand, at least, that bothers a lot of Chinese people is not necessarily that Japan did those things (which were obviously AWEFUL) but that they haven't really publicly apologized to China, saying we messed up-it was wrong-sorry. Japan's reaction(I think) has been more or less ignoring what has happened, versus, for example, Germany after WWII. They owned up to their mistakes and apologized profusely -very aware of their history.

But many are offended by many of the japanese officials who denied what they did to us (and korea) back in WWII.
