Thanks, this information is very helpful ... but good lord man, you need to change the positioning of your camera and/or your hands. Can't see 50-60% of what you're trying to show, but the bottom half of the screen is perfectly clear and useless.
If it rains tomorrow, sod it, no way im getting the train and walking like 10 minutes from the station to buy one. If its dry and i can be bothered, deffo will buy one :)
This dark-skinned dude is a scavenger. He lies from A to Z. Probably he's trying to advertise for someone. I had listened to him and had bought an Epson inkjet printer, and guess what, it turned out to be a piece of junk.
Can I use this pen on regular paper or its only made for special paper. I dont care about recordig ad technical part. I just like the way its designed. I remember their use to be old pen with 4 color refill l ike that it was thick and has capsule type shape it said something like monaim on it. Cant find that pen anywhere now :-(
Yes it can be used on regular paper....but i dont think you will want to spend $100.00 on a pen that your just gonna write and use as a regular pen......
i forgot.. u cn also buy styluses ( like ink cartridges but with nothing in them ) for apps so you dont have to waste your ink.. :) u can also buy pencils to draw.. :)
ermm.. this makes me wanna buy as teachers in my school talk a lot.. few quick questions..
1) can u delete things of it ? like notes you dont need anymore ?
2) do the pens run out quick ?
3) does the echo have a camera ?
4) do you think that this could be educational revolution ? i mean.. schools gettin em etc.. ? i wish the prices would be lower.. it would help me a lot in my school life.. im gonna save up :)
also, how much does the notebook paper cost? if a person were to photocopy teh notebook paper would it work/how do the menu etc. buttons work? i am a bit over my head with this...
@mrok555 the infrared camera copies where your are writing on (x,y) co-ordiantes. The tiny dots of the paper serve as the co-ordinate grid. Then it links where you are writing and what audio it is recording.
I have the older pen and it records through an entire lecture hall with decent quality. If you use the headphones/ stereo microphones the quality is great.
would you consider doing the desktop interface? I'm curious about editing and "lifting" parts of the notes, such as a drawing and putting in another document. Is that possible. Thanks for this video. It's the best I've seen on the Echo so far.
As you have both pulse and echo, which do your prefer, is the echo more reliable than the pulse??? I want to get one for university, so lecturers can be recorded as I write, can you record a lecture without writing anything so when you go home, upload the recording, then in your own time, take your notes done without rushing in lectures. Thanks for the comparison, also can you tell me the what the release year for the pulse was, 2009??? In the UK they cos t£120+, is it worth it for that price??
On all demos i've seen on youtube i noticed it has a tone whenever you tap a button. Is there a mute option for the tones? im worrying it would talk or beep while in a lecture, whenever i tap record/stop button. could anyone please answer me... im considering buying this pen for my classes. Thanks
@ferdiemac Yes you can mute all sound functions for when you are in lectures or tutorials, this pen is great, but if i were you i would but the echo i have had two pulse smartpens and although are really like them both have aquired faults resulting in them being sent back, whereas the echo seems to be much more reliable
This is something fantastic but what are the accessories that I have to buy with it if I'm a first time user. I will mainly use it for writing up of minutes?
You should of Wrote yourself a script or at lease a note pad of differences so you wouldn't have to recall differences off the top of your... um.. head.
@RealSkyDiver2 when I spoke with the livescribe people they made it seem as if it were top secret lol. But its cool to beable to write something and have it appear on the screen as you write it.

which 1 is better. livescribe echo or pulse??????
TheUltimate231 1 year ago
i have them both.
1) echo is a bit thinner and the grip of the pen is by far better than the pulse.
2) the echos mic is better
3) the echo has more memory
4) overall, for sure itseasyer to write with the echo than with the pulse.

@mrok555 the camera reads the dot pattern on the paper, hence it can read its positions and find out what you're writing.

How long battery time does it have? Will it hold for, let's say, 5-6 hours of recording?
And, do you know how well it records from grater distances? (In a lecture room I might end up much farther away from the lecturer that 15 feet...)
OscarssonJoakim 1 year ago
Does it record per example what a person 5 meters away says? A teacher?
Novinte 1 year ago
@Novinte yes I was maybe 15 feet froms omeone yesterday and it recorded them. As long as they speak up.
