in the beginning of all the auditions, MANY people come with extremely dramatic stories but if they hit the big stage, they suddenly forget their stories. it means that they were just using their stories to gain some screen time so america will know them before voting.

I recently lost my father and I would never dream of breaking down in front of a camera while talking about him. I have too much respect for him to do something like that, because what happened to him was private. Mourning is a private matter. Kristen was not saying he didn't love her. It's tragic what happened to Danny Gokey's wife. But he's not showing respect by broadcasting his tragedy. If he had done it to raise awareness for a disease, that would be different. But he didn't.
People grieve differently, dear. You don't even know this guy, or how much he loved her, so how can you say that he's not showing respect for her? Maybe that's the best way he knows how. He did actually bring her disease to light; he started a foundation in her memory. I'm pretty sure that the Fox and AI were the ones that were "pimping" that story, not him. i think if the producers never even known his wife was dead danny would still have gottan as far as he has. if you listen to his voice he does have a very good soulful bluesy voice but just doesn't really know how to use it. besides, marc broussard is a better and original singer songwriter. and he actually knows how to use his voice to add the soulful blues. just one listen to "home" and you'll understand.

ONE THING every1 needs to understand is that danny is not using his wife to get more votes. here's how i know -
in the beginning of all the auditions, MANY people come with extremely dramatic stories but if they hit the big stage, they suddenly forget their stories. it means that they were just using their stories to gain some screen time so america will know them before voting.
danny never forgot his wife throughout the competition and just really wanted to inspire people more than anything

This seriously is bullshit! What's wrong with Danny wanting to prove that people can overcome tremendous adversity? it touched a lot of hearts and he's one of the most memorable contestants ever. It's a beautiful story and had nothing to do with the judges' criticism.
scott was blind and the judges still gave him harsh criticism when needed. they did NOT give danny pity points and people are serioulsy insane to overthink this.

Danny was a disgusting contestant and he should never have made it that far. He was not properly criticized on the show, because the judges were showing too much pity. Allison and Matt should have placed higher than him, but at least the Final 2 and the winner were PERFECT. Kris Allen power!

what is good television without a few controversies? hehe, i know people enjoy seeing the talent portion but, why not spice things up with a little gossip or two =) bashing tv personalities is a trend and for me, it makes celebrities more interesting. just goes to show that people notice them, which equals publicity =) plus, i don't think it's personal... and danny's a good sport, i'm sure.

He was really upset she was booted off, was practically in tears..and he was smiling at how very well she was singing cry baby. I recently lost my father and I would never dream of breaking down in front of a camera while talking about him. I have too much respect for him to do something like that, because what happened to him was private. Mourning is a private matter. Kristen was not saying he didn't love her. It's tragic what happened to Danny Gokey's wife. But he's not showing respect by broadcasting his tragedy. If he had done it to raise awareness for a disease, that would be different. But he didn't.

People grieve differently, dear. You don't even know this guy, or how much he loved her, so how can you say that he's not showing respect for her? Maybe that's the best way he knows how. He did actually bring her disease to light; he started a foundation in her memory. I'm pretty sure that the Fox and AI were the ones that were "pimping" that story, not him. i think if the producers never even known his wife was dead danny would still have gottan as far as he has. if you listen to his voice he does have a very good soulful bluesy voice but just doesn't really know how to use it. besides, marc broussard is a better and original singer songwriter. and he actually knows how to use his voice to add the soulful blues. just one listen to "home" and you'll understand.

I find it very interesting that Idolarity caught on to this dead wife exploitation thing so early in the season. Back then I hadn't even noticed Adam Lamberts talent. Very sorry about the passing of Danny's wife but my vote is going for the more talented singer....Adam Lambert.

danny is very cocky but kris allen is not anything better. mediocre voice will get lost in the shuffle of truly great and original vocalist and singer/songwriters. jason mraz is a better singer and jack johnson and john mayor have way more identifiable voices. kris will not stand up there with kelly clarkson, carrie underwood, elliot yamin, chris daughtry, david cook, and jordan sparks as a vocalist.

Can't help watching this video one more time after listening to the horrific "Dream On".
His performance was bad, but judges are still working so hard on his behalf. It's driving me nuts too.
Whatever, that final note will be remembered in the history of AI as THE bad note, however hard the judges try to sugar cook it. He's not gotta get over it any time soon............ I felt a bit sorry for him.

.This interview is very dishearthening. Who are they to tell anyone how to grieve. Talking about your missed love one sometimes is apart of the healing process. Until you are in Danny shoes do not judge and keep you false opinions to yourself. It's sad, to exploit this topic is such a manner as this.
