That is pretty extreme. I work at one in Riverton Ut. We have the best walmart in the valley. No algae. No ich. No parasites. Of course we get fish that die. It's not like we can keep them all alive. It's almost impossible. But in our tanks the main problem is the goldfish. Common Gold mostly. We rarely get other fish that die. This isn't all walmarts. But I do think walmart should get rid of the tanks in the ones that can't handle it. I've been a fish keeper for years and know what I'm doing.

That is horrible. However this video makes it seem like they are doing it on purpose, which there're not. But I agree, if they can't take better care of their fish, they shouldn't sell them.
the walmarts near me haven't sold fish in almost 10 years, so i was horrified when i went to look for a bigger tank for my baby sister's betta fish, and i saw cups of bettas there. i actually had to SAVE one, from being killed by another, because someone was able to stick them in the same cup, because no one's there to watch over them. i kept an eye on them for weeks, and finally got the one closet to me to stop selling them. i checked on the other one, and things were better. almost saved one.

The problem is always obvious, tanks are overstocked, overfed, water changes are minimal, livestock arrives in poor condition to begin with.
