  • Sweet!

  • please give us some more info about which filter did you use and brand name? thanks

  • nice shot, what do you call that thing that hold the cokin filter?

  • How can someone be really careful so people don't steel your camera??

  • at 1:04... my heart starts crying for camera and the lens... couldve used tshirt on rock... :'-/

  • OMFG you Look like the old Big Show from WWE

  • @smildonfatalis1 Ha ha - just googled to see who you were on about! The other one I get is Billy Connelly :-)

  • @photoexposed yeah you do look like him lol it's cool

You should try an American accent then tell people your the Big Show and you grew your hair back

  • @photoexposed You also look like Mick Foley a little bit

  • This should be titled: "how to use a cokin filter".

  • i would use ps for that

  • great image but i think that with a tripod and a nd filter and a long shutter speed would make it alot better, making the water look great!

  • Nice video however:

NO respectable photographer is caught with out at least one tripod (even one of those little ones).

This could be done in Photoshop almost as easy, if not easier.

  • @fret2424 sometimes tripod aren't convenient to lug around and are unnecessary. yeah, if you can, you should bring one, but your statement that no photographer will be caught without a tripod is frivolous and arrogant

  • He said "tripod," not trombone. :{)

  • yeah can use gradient in photoshop :P

  • @fret2424 Agreed - however many people (myself included) don't like sitting indoors on the computer any more than absolutely necessary and prefer to be out there taking pictures.

  • Wow I've seen like, all of your videos and

the end results are just stunning.

I have to get me one of these.

  • (continued from below)

    3) your filters

once you've got all these parts, you take off the lens-cap, screw on the ring adapter, slide on the filter holder, and then use your filters at will. They basically slide in and out however you want to use them. Once you've bought the basic filter holder and ring adapter, you can buy as many lenses as you want, and mix and match at will. Use graduated filters, ND filters (good for adding mood to an image) or just play! Ebay is probably best.. Good Luck!

  • There are basically two types of filters - square and circular.

I personally use square ones, because if you have different lenses, especially fish-eye or wide-angle, you need to constantly buy new filters to fit the different lens types, whereas with the square this isn't so much of an issue. To do this, here's a checklist of what you need:

    1) a Cokin 'P' system filter holder

    2) a ring adapter to fit the diameter of your lens (start off by getting one for your most-used lens)

  • Great vid!,

What else do you need for this filter? as in, what holds it on the lens? or is it a special lense meant for filters.

  • hi im new to all this use of filter and just wondering if you can help me,I have got to chose 10 filters from this list and not sure which ones would be idea to start with,Hope you can help. Blue, red, ND2, ND4, ND8, orange, brown, green, yellow, pink, purple, graduated blue, graduated brown, graduated red, graduated green, graduated gray (ND4), graduated orange, graduated yellow , graduated pink, graduated purple

  • It's cool, but I wouldn't say it looks natural, or at least I've never seen a sunset like that lol.

  • ive been whatching a couple of your videos and you are great man.

where can i get some of these filters?

  • Google "Tobacco Graduated Filter Cokin"

  • hey great video, what is that card called again that you used to add the mood to the sunset. thanks for your help.

  • This one's called a 'Tobacco Graduated Filter' and it's made by Cokin.

  • @vilentone This one's a cokin Tobacco grad. They're OK but if you can afford it go for a Lee filter which I think are better quality.

  • Hi All

Thanks for sticking up for me while I'm not around rptatbud! Sorry been away making films for a magazine. See what you mean about the blue sky reflection bcasts, but the pics OK and I don't want to spend my life in front of a computer. I like being out and about!!

  • welcome back (:

    Keep those videos coming!

  • a very creative idea, never thought about something like that, and the photo turned out to be amazing. Where can you buy this filter and how do you stick it on to the camera?

  • Thanks...You can buy graduated filters in any camera shop or on line. They come with a holder that screws onto your lens.

  • couldn't u have just photoshopped it and made i better..because u could give more of a precise gradient and fix the reflection in the water?

  • Hi bcasts. Fix what reflection in the water?

  • Fix the Blue reflections of whats supposed to be a Red sky.

  • "real" photographers don't photoshop (: well, maybe a little

  • almost all pros photo in RAW mode, and that means ps after shot is taken.

  • yep. tweak exposure/WB/saturation, etc.. neat, but superimpose artificial reflection... hm... why not let the camera do the work. I don't know. the more authentic the photograph, the more valuable it is. Don't get me wrong, I love PS, but I enjoy using filters and push equipment to the limit far more (:

  • yea i agree with you, ps does the job pretty fast and also i need to crop my images often to get the best out of it. Har to shoot a picture without cropping afterwards, and im not cropping in my camera nono :p, but i agree with you if you can get the picture you want from only using the camera it feels better inside, u get more proud from that!

  • ditto!! DSLRs and image editing software kind do go a bit hand in hand. But there's nothing like looking at that *PERFECT* shot on the screen and knowing that it needs not a bit of editing (: Oh, I still remember that first time it happened.

    Happy shooting, Fouracesswe!!

  • i love filter make nice and smoot ficture..

  • "I realize, I've left my tripod back in Cairo" ........hmmmmm... now there's something you don't hear every day

  • Hi rptatbud. Sounds cool eh? But what a numpty halfwit thing to do **#^£"@//#!!!

  • LOL, I'm traveling in Israel right now. Was hopping to take a drive over to Cairo and make a spoof video on your tripod comment, but alas! no such luck on this trip (:

Great photography videos. Keep it up (:

  • Thanks - and a spoof tripod in Cairo film would have been cool! Maybe next time...

  • Nice, but would have used a piece of clothing to support the camera on the rock and insured the horizon was straight.

    Interesting..
