  • Eric is like a good wine: passing years makes him great

  • The Texas Alexander version is on Youtube, do a simple search for it...

  • Everyone saying the Animals covered the song are absolutely right. Alan Price of The Animals himself sand the song was originally a sixteenth-century English folk song and that English emigrants took the song to America where it was adapted to its later New Orleans setting.

The oldest known existing recording is by Texas Alexander, recorded in 1927 for Okeh Records, Clarence "Tom" Ashley (with Gwen Foster) recorded it for Vocalion Records in 1934

  • Cool but not as good as the old version of 64

  • @ElMonoDeMuerto man, his voice is 42 years older. how much will be left of your voice in 42 years?

  • Wow! Most Cool!

  • i loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove you!!!!

  • Eric Burdon has still got it!

  • good singing. the music is terrible though.

  • He still has an amazing voice (which is surprising and great). I presume that isn't the rest of the original The Animals playing the instruments though - I do prefer the original (without that added stuff). But still amazing.

  • @summzashi dude he was the lead singer of the animals so its practically HIS song ;)

  • This man still has a great voice

  • Just like time travel. I only a few weeks ago saw his first performance. Now he's old. Strange feeling. Still he's kick ass good.

  • @Octavice he is like 70 now. amazing how fast it goes

  • good cover

  • @teariki13989 cover? its his song....jeez.

  • @oldascosmicdust It isn't his song. The Animals version was a cover to begin with.

  • @Summzashi its not a cover if no one fucking knows he originally wrote, just a publicly used song

  • the red head look very cute ya

  • why is he sitting down while singing?

  • Its funny with that nylon stringd acoustic guitar! Maybe he heard my version and got inspired! :-)

  • He rocks it out harder now then he did back in the day when he first did this song...

  • Will always love the famous Geordie! Maybe b/c he shares a birthday with my Dad - 11 May 41. . . Naw, I just love Eric for Eric.

  • fuckin good ..who is this band

  • ya eric burdon is a great singer

  • i still luv ya eric

  • eric mcfadden

your fans send a big hello from san rafael

when are you coming back to the tavern?

    we love yah

  • One word....ICONIC!!!!!!!

  • Eric's still got plenty of voice, but he's constantly hitting off key notes, and he's overdoing the yeah yeah stuff. Nothing a good review of his own performances wouldn't fix, and maybe some help from a vocal coach.

  • Dude you should be ashamed what you wrote on your channel..it's just silly the way you accuse people without any proofs and you talk in their back..youre just making yourself silly..To make people looking bad like youve done on ur channel is a terrible thing, not to mention its very childish and imature from you, that won't bring you joy or pleasure in your life, you should give up this stupid game because one of these day your behaviour must stop or being reported, you must go ahead and grow up!

  • Sorry man I read you comment to your channel , pleaee you claim the EBBeMine stole your videos look on YT you are upset one videos but what other one who realy stole your videos llke Works song or Mother earth which your videos have your not upset . This not upset you , that must be a joke man , I fallove you over the years and everyone who puts Eric videos you claim that is yours, Please be real and grow up woman your are realy childdish for your 35 years old

  • Nothing sends shivers down your spine like Burdon live.

i can't possibly tell how glad i am to experience that.

  • I'm 58 years old and have been a big fan of Eric since I was 13. He had it then. He has it now. he's Legend.

  • Overdone... there is a mysterious, understated and subtle perfection in the Animals' first inception of this song. This just doesn't work for me. Still has a good voice, good musicianship all around, just overdone!

  • @ihatedonhenley overdone is the right word. It's a blues balad, not a jazz jam.

  • @ihatedonhenley I agree.

  • einzigartig wunderbare Stimme!!!!!!!

  • At the age of twelve I dance my very first slow dance with a boy who shall forever remain forgotten...but a sweet rite of passage for me....thanks Eric!

  • You won't find anyone out there who can scream the blues out of their throat like this. Absolutely magical.

  • Sexy Bass player

  • It's not the same The 3 Musketeers than 20 Years After :-)

  • Man, He STILL has that voice !!!

  • ERIC THE BEST OF THE BEST....

  • Less respect for this version than the original.

    Less dignity

  • great song

  • Burdon is not the young Burdon...but the 60's years.

Watch the film of Casino (Deniro,Peschi,Stone). The part of "day of reckoning", in the end! I think this Eric Burdon' s song, was a good idea in the film.

Eric should be forevermore, the voice of the "day of reckoning"!

    Peace X)

  • very nice although it doenst compare with his voice back in the animals...

  • Man I was gonna get to see him with my pops who introduced me to Eric Burdon, and The Animals, but my dad got the flu at the last minute and I didnt want to go without him :(

  • I love this song anyway but in this particular version, I really enjoy the fact that Eric Mcfadden (guitar), Paula O'rourke, (bass) and Wally Ingram (drums) are the supporting band and the finest Animals that Eric Burden could have ever chosen to play with him! Great keyboard player too!

Keep it up Eric Burden! Keep on doing your thing and come play in the San Francisco Bay Area some day please!

    Thanks,

  • esse coroa canta pra caramba

  • You go grandpa!

Not meaning to be offensive, but I think others from the 60s have aged better, such as Paul Mccartney :P

Cant believe how amazing he can sing even at his age, almost as good as he was in the 60s!
