  • Hey Koshnjelly, I found the Stardust Ballroom flyer. It's May 18th and I believe 1984 is the year as the Sk8board drawing has "Messer '84" written on it. It's labled "LA's first all skate Gig!

with: The Big Boys, Jody Fosters Army, Agression, Faction (w/ Steve Cavallero), Ill Repute and Tales Of Terror. My earlier post I was thinking Samhain was with The Big Boys at one Stardust show.....I'm probably wrong about that. I have another flyer somewhere with the Samhain show at Stardust

  • texas likes punk rock ? times r changing go chase sum mexicans u know u want 2

  • thanks a million, the flyer isnt for me, its for my best friend whos nuts about the big boys. it took me forever to locate and actually find someone willing to sell the fun fun fun lp. i got it for him as an xmas gift. the flyer would make a killer birthday gift.

  • @koshandjelly Hey look above, I found the flyer. It's in near mint condition. I'd like to at least show it to you, but without everyone else getting your email address. I leave it up to you.

  • @Harpgrindin i actually know exactly what that flyer looks like, so how much woud you like to get for it? :)

  • @koshandjelly Awe! I also found a Samhain and Poision 13 flyer at The Roxy in Hollywood. Poision 13 had former Big Boys member(s). Are you interested in that one too?

  • They were so great. But I think I love Ed Hall more.

  • Biscuit is like the jello biafra from Texas

  • I had a signed poster of these guys hanging in my bedroom at home in Gladewater Texas, back in the early 80's.

  • One of my all time faves!! i miss these guys

  • can someone explain the whole bad brains and big boys incident?

  • Well, if you were from Los Angeles in the late 70's throughout the 80's then you would have seen the real hardcore scene where there were gigs damn near 4 times a week. I did see The Big Boys at The Stardust Ballroom around 83'. If memory serves me right someone in the band was from the original Misfits. Correct me if I'm wrong. I still have the flyer in storage

  • @Harpgrindin would you at all be ineterested in selling this flyer? pllleeeaaasseeee!

  • @koshandjelly I guess I'd sell it if I can find it. Going to storage isn't something I do very often as it's 10 miles away. Reply in a month or 2. If I find it before then I'll let you know.

  • biscuit is the james brown of hardcore

  • @allforch17 hahaha thats exactly how i described the singer to my friend. its like if james brown sang punk. biscuit was the greatest.

  • @vacuumnose

Just be happy you live in a city. A pretty big one at that.

I live in bumfuckshit, Maine. There's nothing here but about 5,000 people. Most are rednecks or just boring.

And as for Boston, I'd kill to live there man.

  • Thank you for this! Love the Big Boys!

  • 1st Band I saw in Austin SURENDIPITY! BIG BOYS RULED THEN, STILL RULE NOW! RIP Bisquit; START YOUR OWN BAND, MFers!

  • Austin produced so many incredible and original punk bands

  • awe-fuckin'-some

  • glad we shot this back in the eighties....in Los Angeles...

  • glad we shot this back when they played in los angeles, back in the eighties...

  • Austin music is just a rip off of what is going on on either coast by people too lazy or too afraid to move. "Afraid of Success" should be the Austin music scene motto.

  • Not true, these bands were doing shit a little different from other punk/hardcore bands, and haven't you ever heard of the 13th Floor Elevators, they were one of the pioneers to psychedlia/garage rock.

  • @50saint2 Psychedelic Sounds of... is one of my favourite albums.

  • Ah, nostalgia. They were going to play the McCallum High School prom one year (maybe 84?) until some fool let the cat out of the bag to administration. That would have been something.

  • Don't Forget About DRI in Texas! Big Boys Are On the Back Of My Leather!

  • I wanna buy a Big Boys album, but I'm not sure which one to get, either skinny elvis or fat elvis?

  • @Demonoftheforrest they're both great, and i'd suggest both. fat elvis is their hardcore stuff, if you're more into that.

  • @80smoviesguy I already ended up buying Fat Elvis cause it was the only one they had, I love it! I'm definitely gonna get Skinny Elvis now though

  • Putting into consideration the fact that the Big Boys are the greatest band to have ever created music of any sort, ever, anyone who was alive for this is a lucky motherfucker!

  • The weirdest time I saw them, I wasn't expecting them. They opened for the Go-Go's when they played Club Foot in 1981, and they came onstage in drag as "K-Mart and the Shoppers." Biscuit was wielding a steam iron like it was a weapon. :D

  • Lets Play God...I love this song :)

  • great band!! unfortunately just a few people know the Big Boys (and the '80s hardcore punk scene) here in Italy.

  • i love the way the lead singe dances

  • BIG BOYS rocked my world at RAULS! BISCUIT you left us too soon! PFUNK WAS NEVER DONE BETTER! I miss that music scene

  • From the background,I believe this was at the Graystone in Detroit....

  • texas had the coolest hardcore punk bands, big boys, the dicks and the butthole surfers all unique

  • Im from Texas and ive never heard of any of those :( i hope to be a famous punk musician tho

  • @greendayrandom

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Famous punk musician? How can you be famous AND a punk musician? Then you're not really a punk musician, are you? More of an alternative musician. None of that shit on the radio is real punk, I'm sorry to break it to you.

  • @methodairmoshpit When I say famous punk, I mean like Green Day, when DOOKIE broke.

  • @greendayrandom So you mean pop punk? There's a bit of a difference.

  • @shadowhalfcast Dude dont forget MDC they started there

  • @shadowhalfcast Texas did have some cool bands. I loved the big boys. Saw them as poison 13 with Samhain . MDC and DRI were cool too. so many. I may be wrong about these guys...The Offenders? Anyway, Take care dude.

  • @shadowhalfcast don't forget d.r.i

  • @shadowhalfcast dont forget mdc!

  • @lac2low4afathoe yeah MDC where cool too, I think Texas produced a aesthetically and politically more complex punk scene then say Boston.

  • @shadowhalfcast boston is more celltic and hardcore.

  • @shadowhalfcast Texas also spawned MDC, they came out of Austin, along with Dicks, and Big Boys.

  • @shadowhalfcast not to mention action toys

  • @shadowhalfcast I have to agree. I caught the scene from 85 on and missed some of the good bands from the early days but there were still lots of great bands that kept the scene alive for many years to come. TEXAS Punk was the shit!

  • Awesome - they don't make them like this anymore.

  • nice!

  • amazing!! wish i was old enough to be at that show:) punk rock is not like this anymore..reminds me of the minutemen the first song anyway..Turner r.i.p.

  • great band! R.I.P. Biscuit

  • big boys tha shit yo . put up work without pay

  • This man was a punk gentleman. Sincerely one of the nicest people. A true gem and he is missed. O... and he ROCKED all the days of his life.

  • Wish I could find a quality version of this awesome song.

  • My mom wouldn't let me go to this show!

  • @KillRoyalties00 Fuck you, go die.

  • What's that funky shit I hear?

  • YOU CAN DO SUM FUNK!

  • RIGHT ON !

  • hell yes

  • The Bad Brains stuff is true but they issued a formal apology about it saying they were new to rastafari and ignorant.

  • I saw em' @ Perkin's Palace in Pasadena Ca. 84'

    GOOD TIME'S!!!

  • that was at greystone hall in detroit prob in 82 or early 83

  • shut yo mouth this shit is funky as hell especially there skinny elvis lp fat elvis its great too all there shit owns foo

  • Say wutttttt? Yo foo...hoo yoo be jivin lyke dat too??

  • BB big boys BB bad brains they fucking hate each other HR from bad brains called the lead singer of Big boys a bloodclot faggot

  • weres the proof?

  • read up on it Dave Dictor (MDC) got in it with HR for saying that Dave is openly gay himself and thought HR was being a homophobic ass hole

  • Yeah I saw that also before watching this video

  • if you read American Hardcore, they talk about it in the Bad Brains section.

  • I loved Bad Brains in the early 80s but when they bought into all that anti-gay religious bullshit, I wrote 'em off as the idiots they were.

It was really sad too, because they were one of the greatest American punk bands of all time.

I've never heard any words of regret from them either. Too bad.

  • In the AH book, one of the BB's sort of apologies by professing being young and ignorant

  • Pretty sure it is the last show done at the Skyline Club. Still gotta' LOVE them!

  • Love'em Till I DIY. Steph and Woody in Austin,Tx

  • Dude in the Misfits shirt at 1:28 is excellent.

  • That would be me in '80. I know dorky but when you have been picked on for being dorky, you start to rebel against the cool kids.

  • DIY... Austin TX were the hell is at! -Biscuit

PS Drumer is wearing the same shirt from the Houston Fitzgeralds show.

  • not club foot, they didn't have those doors behind the stage. Not sure where that was, don't recognize it, probably not austin. That was cool!

  • Isn't this the Ritz in Austin?

  • I don't think it's the Ritz either, I don't know who had those big louvered doors behind the stage. Wherever it is, the ceiling sure is high. With the club foot there was a loft thing behind the stage that you would see at that height.

  • rightoh its in La! It says right in the info posyed FLOPSIDEvideofanzine. and as far asazncutie reneber what they said, go out and start your own band!

  • hey azncutie, if you dont like it, why are you here? fun fun fun, thats' what we say, fun fun fun, thats' what we play...

  • Looks like Club Foot to me. I might have been there!

  • RIP BIscuit! you were the ebst!

  • killer man, check out the vid i just made for their classic red/green stop and go..big boys rule..

  • The Big Boys are the most under appreciated band ever. I am a huge music fan, and nothing gets me going like the Fat Elvis. There shit is historic.

  • fat elvis and skinny elvis are the best albums i have ever owned in my life time

  • you are fucking dead on. I lost the Fat Elvis CD and I cannot stand it. The Big Boys are unbelievable. Gonna re-purchase it this weekend. I must have this music in my life. I knew Biscuit when he was flippin' burgers at Scaz.

  • I WANNA PAAAAAAARTY!

  • R.I.P. Buscuit! We miss you! Go out and start your own band :)

  • let's party

  • i love their style! hardcore punk+skateboarding+funk= Classic BIG BOYS!! SKATE FOR FUN!!

  • why the fuck are you even using your time posting on this video? nobody gives a shit if you dont like it. fuck off.

  • geez you know nothing, for fucks sake not only the famous can be good.. you need time and dedication to understand stuff like this u need to spend time digesting and reading up on these bands

  • never knew "comments" always have to be good. i say what i want, if u have a problem then dont read it, people have different taste what can i say.

  • look pal it doesnt work that way! if you dont like this music then fuck off and dont watch asshole! Funk off

  • azncutie you are a COMPLETE moron!! Just because YOU don't like it do you think no one else likes it and you think it should be deleted so others can't enjoy it? Your idiotic comments (and bad taste) do not even warrant a response. Don't you realize the reason "noone sings shit like this nomore" might have to do with the fact that it is well over 25 years old? Please go back and finish your 3rd grade education and to your Eminem crap music. Or better yet, just GO AWAY!

  • hahaha! Thanks for responding to the dumb comments. :) Nobody who gets educated in rock n roll is going to think the Big Boys aren't worth listening to.

    Hugs!

  • who are you to fucking say what sucks you preppy bitch loser

  • who the fuck are you to say what sucks you preppy bicth loser

  • this is teh best shit,
