DX's version is more sadder by a landslide. Watching the scene again, I started to get tears in my eyes. The X version, just ruined such a emotional and badass robot's death scene.

I`m was very sad the first time I finished Gamma`s story in the game but the second time is a lot less sadder STILL I think the death in the game was REALLY MUCH MORE BETTER.

Gameverse Gammas death is better. The shitty sonic x version just has Gamma and Beta running around in circles while having several pictures depicting of their fight because the animators of this piece of crap show wouldn't bother to put any effort at all for their series.

the game had more emotion overall.the show- the brothers seemed so lifeless compared to the game. only Amy added a bit of sadness to the scene of the show. also, the death explosions were pretty lame in the scene. In the game, all the brothers have the same explosion except gamma and beta. beta having a big explosion while gamma having a huge one, which for some reason, the music from the game and the enormous blast gamma had when he died gave a feeling i've never felt in a game even today..

When I first played Gamma I never expected him to die. When he fell over I thought he was gonna repair himself but when the music played as he exploded just rocked me to the core. It was like watching the ending of the most epic movie you would ever see

I think that Sonic DX's death is sadder because as you play as E 102 Gamma, your heart warms up to him, watching as he destroys his brothers so that they would not suffer the horrible death of being a puppet. When you see him die, you realize that he sacrificed his life for his brothers.

Sonic X's death was too abrupt, it was 'Mission completed, explode, bird!'. If it had drawn out the part where he was actually saying "Gamma....mission completed", then had a slower shot of him collapsing and exploding, it would have been far more emotional than the Adventure scene. Adventure actually had the pause between the death and the bird coming out, which made the people hold their breath for a moment before the reveal. The Sonic X scene was too abrupt to give us time to react properly.

the sonic adventure one, because without words, I could imagine all the sadness I wanted... The words in sonic x ruined my whole perception of sadness because I didn't get to think about how sad it could have been. Besides, the music combined with the cinematography made it much more dramatic in sonic adventure... Oh, the fact that I beat sonic adventure years ago also helps XD

yeah, he exclaims "oh shoot" in the anime xD that's fucking silly. there's something to be said about minimal dialogue and well timed music, and the game did this extremely well. it takes it time for the dramatic moments to set in... whereas in the cartoon it's like "pow boom zap oh no sha-shwing everything's happy now." the birds KISS each other!! ugh, that's bad

Uhm Sonic X kinda butchers the whole emotion thing Sonic Adventure had going for it, locations: SA: Egg Carrier with the sound of waves and beautiful piano playing and the correct amount of silence and minimal speaking, SX: generic base, too MUCH talking and explosions and non-touching music, sorry but SA wins hands down

Sonic Adventure DX- for the reason that after being damaged by his brother as he is walking away his memories as a flicky start to return but is too fuzzy then when he sees the bird that beta was made to trap it free then the bird flys away as gamma's memory returns then he dies in the most saddest way possible exploding as the bird flys away with him being alone a quiet explosion and sad music.(conitnued on next comment)

The Adventure definetly had more of an impact, what with the sudden silence, Gamma not saying anything, and then just falls dead, bringing an a sole but hopeful End to his story as he was able to complete his mission to free his brother's.

In the Sonic X's version, while it was really touching to see the aftermath of the robot bodies grabbing to each other's hands, they really don't focus much of it.

My guess is that Gamma's mind was reuploaded into E-123 which was also made up of some of his spare parts. This would probably explain why E-123 is obsessed with killing Robotnik. Just a theory.

Sa, the fact that you play as him you really get more attached and see things from his point of view more. the fact he kills his relatives even though he doesn't want too and dieing so the bird can be with the rest of it's family show that even though he was a robot, he had a heart.

SA wins here. Its the combination of watching the fatally wounded Gamma limp around, the large yet slow and silent explosion, the sudden music stop leading to that sad arrangment of his theme, and the fact that in the end, no one was around to even mourn him (with Gamma effectively dying alone).

In Sonic X, he just fell over and exploded shortly afterwards, and while its a nice touch that someone was there to see Gamma's fate, it does take away from the sadness. I like it though.
