At a security console in Raccoon City Hall, Delta Team sees footage of Nicholai betraying his team earlier that day. This footage can also be seen in the Inserted Evil ARG.. The clip that is here.

If Jill jumps off the bridge, Nicholai takes the last helicopter, and Jill has the choice to either blow up his helicopter and kill him, or try reason with him, which allows him to escape.

A copy of a report written by him was available to personnel on Sheena Island the following month, though the final entry dated after the city's destruction was signed by a member of Umbrella B.O.W. Development Staff, rather than Nicholai.

He went to the Raccoon Park where he met Jill again, revealing his real plans, before escaping to the "Dead Factory" upon the arrival of a giant worm. The Grave digger.

Jill met him for a final time within the factory grounds, where he commandeered a Helicopter - the same helicopter Carlos told Jill about.

Two days later, in the early hours of October 1, he was in the Raccoon General Hospital where he was seen by Carlos, either attacking a fellow UBCS member named Tyrell Patrick, or with Tyrell telling him that Nicholai shot him. Carlos later has to run away from C4 charges planted by Nicholai which later blew up the building. Nicholai used his position to assume command of a UBCS team tasked with "Operation: Emperor's Mushroom"; to retrieve a sample of blood from a Tyrant named Thanatos.

Platoon Delta - which he was assigned to - suffered heavy casualties, with only he, corporal Carlos Oliveira and Lieutenant Mikhail Victor surviving; Nicholai had already betrayed his unit by locking them in a room full of zombies.Upon the inclusion of former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine into the group, they prepared for evacuation to the Saint Michael Clock Tower.

If you all don't know. Nicolai had a different mission compare with the rest of UBCS. Sergei Vladimir was the one who gaved the order for UBCS to enter the city. Rescue the civilianse was just a cover up. Nicholai and the rest of the supervisers was a member of "Operation Watchdog"; a covert mission to gather combat data on Zombies and escaped B.O.W.s, along with any other dangers in the infested city.

this game is not canon though. Nemesis in this game is from the movies and it has a lot of info wrong on a lot of things that don't match with RE2-3. Still will be good though.

It's only right that since the game takes place during Umbrella's operation during the Raccoon City Outbreak, it can only take place either before RE 2 and 3 events.

Considering Jill made it out at the last minute, I'd say the game ends before she gets to the Dead Factory.

@Fade2Dark Yes canonogically, he survived. There have been documents signed in his name throughout the series following this game. The choice where Jill tries to reason with him when he comandeers the helicopter is the canological choice.

@randalolc You're referring to S.D. perry's novel, where an unknown shooter (nicholai) picked shots at mikhail. Its a good book, but not a very reliable source. play re3's intro, where you see fast paced clips of all the mercs dying.. a bunch of zombies get off an eleveator and attack "ahh! where they come from?!" I believe that was mikhail. He and his team were ambushed.
