Don't mean to be a downer, but this game doesn't look very good. It feels generic. It came off weak to me. I think some people may think this looks great because it's been a good while since we've had a decent JRPG over here in the West, and esp. on the Wii. Visually, the game looks decent visually, but the gameplay looks kinda slow and animation are stiff as a board. That swords doesn't even look cool. It's generic. (This is coming from a big RPG fan and a long-time Nintendo fan.)

Xeno in the title points to other works by monolith and allows them to pick up on there fan base. Recognition creates sales.

It's not for everyone. I happen to love MMOs and those Shining Force Neo and EXa games.

The story is light, but the gameplay is fun and addicting to me. It's kind of like Monster Hunter, but with more stoy and missions. Watch some vids, or maybe go and see what others are saying on websites. I think it's the best RPG on the Wii thus far.

Yes, there is a very big connection: Yasumi Matsuno, was the creator of Vagrant, as well as things such as FF XII, FF Tactics, and Ogre Battle 64.

i still think this looks better than a ps2 game like ff12 due to a few factors.

1.) has poping grass

2.) lots of bloom lighting from what i can see in the trailer

3.) large vast landscape with a better draw distance than final fantasy 12.

This game looks alright in the trailer, not the best graphics, especially in the character models. I understand what rahnyc4 means by that animation but I've seen worse, I just can't recall where. I hope this is good when it comes out. One thing that stands out as the best part of this trailer has to be the music (especially at 0:54 ). I love music like this when it's done well and this trailer hit the bullseye dead center. I wonder if this is the same people who did Kingdom Hearts 2 music?

Hmmm, this has got to be the new game from Monolith. The character designs look like Xenosaga and Disaster, for one thing.

It's obviously a bit early to say too much about this game, but I'll say that the title and music look intriguing, the gameplay looks like a more action-oriented FF12, and the graphics could definitely use some work (as they inexplicably look worse than FF12). Other than that... we'll have to wait and see.

barbadosx i dont know at which games you look at, but there are enough wii games that have way better graphics like, mario galaxy, the conduit, metroid prime 3, even twilight princess and resident evil 4 have way better graphics then this game and those are gamecube games.

The wii doesnt come close to the graphics of the ps3 and x-box 360 but it does have 3x the power of the original

x-box so if you think that the wii cant really get anybetter then this in terms of graphics you are wrong.

well not now since the xbox n ps3 are getting into 3rd gen Engines. But if u take the Conduit n then take a game built with an original 360 engine like Perfect Dark Zero. The Conduit is pretty much on par. Keep in mind that the Wii hasnt been getting new engines n the 360 ps3 have. New Engines = better graphics. U could have the top of the line graphics card today but if u use Half Life 1's engine u get HL1 graphics. U KNOW NOTHING. now that the wii is getting engines it WILL get better graphics

Of course Wii gets new engines. The conduit is a new generation engine for Wii. Clearly, it doesn't look as good as most of the 360's titles. And you are comparing a mid-generation Wii-engine to a first generation 360-engine in your example.

Looks like it has the potential to be a great RPG. I hope it gets released in the US & EU. I'm still very disappointed that Nintendo didn't release Disaster or Fatal Frame 4 in the US. So to compromise with what time they had, they saved these IPs for the press while the audience got to see the next Metroid, Mario, and Golden Sun titles. The downside? Less attention for the new stuff.
