Also, to their credit, they admitted to getting their ideas from the American Robert Godard for innovating the idea of liquid propulsion and most of the methods used in their rocket designs: obtained from the details of his patent applications during the 1920's & 30's. Russia might have had a few 'firsts' but that was a long time ago, the Russian space program is a shadow of it's former self. The Soyuz module might be reliable but it's getting old very fast and sadly I don't think Vlad Putin is interested in getting it back to it's former glory. He is more interested in bullying the old Soviet sates and tweaking with the gas supply to Europe. So in the meantime I will look towards NASA, ESA and China/India for the next 'firsts'.

Also it's been proved multiple times that it would be very difficult, especially back then, to create the movments that the astronouts made in the videos unless in a low gravity enviornmet. The russians sent luna 16, 20 and 24 to the moon and brought back moon soil without humans, they sent lunokhods 1 and 2 rovers, lunokhod 2 traveled 23 miles on the moon during it's mission, no other rover in history even comes close. what the americans did was just put a flag on the moon so they could brag about it, the russians did everything the americans did with robotic probes.
