Hitting an Owl Statue with your sword activates it. Once it's activated, you can "save" by speaking to it and selecting that option. This will take you back to the selection screen to choose your file, showing an owl next to the file you just saved on. By reopening that file, you are "erasing" your owl save, continuing where you left off. The only way to save your progress permanently is to play the Song of Time.

Link gives the Ocarina to Zelda in the future. She uses it to send him to the past, to a point BEFORE Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm. The Royal Family tries to execute Ganondorf, fails, sends him to the Twilight Realm. Meanwhile, Link leaves for Majora's Mask and Zelda still has the Ocarina (because now the future never took place), and having fullfilled it's role, she gives it to him.

@ariel12955 Okay, I loved oot, and I will never give up my love for oot, But this game has to be second on my scale, follwed by tp. Now my reasoning is that it was the VERY first game I ever played by myself and beat after figuring out by myself in the days before youtube walkthroughs. To this day, it is the only Zelda game I have beat however, and I might change my mind it I ever got my hands on MM. (I didn't like 4 swords, the screen on my Nintendo sp bothered my eyes).Oot wins, if you ask me.

Question. In the end of Orcarina of Time when he warns Zelda of fiddling with the future he has the Hyrule shield on his back. If Major'a Mask is a direct sequel, why does he have the Hero's shield when he starts? Shouldn't he have the Hyrule shield still? He still has the Kokiri sword that he got in Orcarina of Time.

Well, it's basically implied pretty heavily that Zelda sent Link back in time to a point before Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm, informed the Royal Family of what happened, they tried to execute him (events leading up to Twilight Princess). Because of this, Link never got any of the future (adult) items and presumably doesn't have most if not all of the past (child) items, including the Spiritual Stones (since there's no need now anyway).

At the end of Ocarina of Time, there are two endings: In the future, Zelda sends Link back in time. The Hero of Time disappears. Ganon breaks free, Link is not reborn, the God's flood Hyrule (TWW). In the past, Link returns to a point before he took out the Master Sword, they try to execute Ganondorf, but they can't, so they seal him away in the Twilight Realm (TP). Ganondorf gains power again at the same time in two different dimentions. TP and WW happen simultaneously.

Only a few of them are required. Most of the masks are optional. However, you have to get all of them in order to unlock the final mask of the game. Because this is a 100% walkthrough, I will be collecting all of them.

Caleb, in OoT, Navi always directs you where to go (except to the fairy that gives you Din's fire). How's Tatl? I let her speak on purpose, yet she only led me up to the song of healing and then said that swamp was to the south. What must one do to make her talk? Navi did it herself... frequently.

There is nothing to indicate whether this is the Lost Woods or not, but I tend to think it is not for the simple reason that he's traveling straight through it and the fact that it doesn't look like the Lost Woods from Ocarina of Time at all.

From what I know of, after the events of Ocarina of Time, Navi left. She wasn't really needed as a partner anymore, so she left Hyrule forest altogether. The Great Deku Tree told Link that, if he wanted to find her, he'd find her in forests like these. He notices Tatl and Tael, but disregards them, since he knows they're not the fairies he is looking for.

Just as a tip, you can roll before you jump off a ledge to jump farther. I believe it makes you jump as far as you would if you had the Bunny Ears. I don't know if he mentions this at any point in the walkthrough, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I mean, that theory does make sense, but most people agree that characters who travel from Hyrule to Termina, dont have counterparts, And besides, Epone obviously knows Link.
