allot of people don't realize that these were the way to receive volunteer calls at your home in the 60's and 70's...i think they were more reliable than some of the modern equipment used for the same application...thanks for the upload!
I grew up with a Plectron in the house this brings back many memories.
I remember writing down address's for my dad and running outside to send him off to the fire house. Then I remember starting in the fire service this is a blast from the past.
Clermont county was on 33.94 mhz. If you had a multiband radio on 33.90 for Hamilton Co, then maybe you were hearing both. Also, Hamilton Co. stopped using the "warbling" sound and replaced it with Motorola QC tones. Is that what you are remembering? I've got some of that too.
Thanks for the reply! Loveland and Milford sounded very familiar with their three-digit identifiers (e.g. 221, 251) way back then. The tones I remember from Hamilton County dispatch sounded different from these. I was using a radio with a slide-rule dial and monitoring around 33 to 40 Mhz on the VHF-lo band back in 1976. Maybe the tone-outs sounded different because I wasn't using a Plectron, but a regular radio?? Your postings are great and I will look forward to more if you have them.
Do you have any Hamilton County tone-outs (circa, 1976)? The tones were unique and I've never heard them anywhere else since. HC used them to dispatch fire and life squads (e.g., New Baltimore, Miamitown, Blue Ash, etc...). The tones began with various long high-pitch followed by funky sounding two tones, sometimes four tones. Can anyone help? Would LOVE to hear these again!!

Yes, some old Clermont and Hamilton Co. recordings. Plus some skip from LA on 33.82 and 33.70.
