This is the best live version of this song I've seen so far. In other versions, the singer has a tendency to drop all of his high parts down an octave or use other melody variants, rather than singing what he actually did on the album.

This one still isn't perfect. But it's damned good.

Thing song has probably the highest notes of any of the songs shinedown has ever sang, and the volume of his voice in the song is very intense. If he sang the studio version of this song on a daily basis his vocal chords would probably be injured.

This was a great performance from an incredibly talented group of Gentlemen. Unfortunately, you can tell that this performance was for a DVD. If you listen to the other live performances of this song, he's not even trying to hit the notes from the album version... That is one of the main reasons that I get apprehensive about going to concerts. Are they gonna put in a full effort like they would do if they were recording in the studio, or are they gonna half-ass it?

I have never heard more emotion put into a voice than I hear when I listen to Brent Smith sing. He has one of the richest voices I've heard. A little scratchy and nasally, but that's what makes it amazing. It's a true voice, none of the polished crap they have now. I would kill to sing like him.
