@TheZanzj1 Believe me, it's not Norwegian. Well, not modern Norwegian; it's Icelandic, which Norwegian *used* to be similar to, so I can see why you'd think it's Norwegian. There are still similarities, though it reminded me of Danish at first, at least with his pronounciation.
And, yeah, @Peace0Love0Lolz, as far as I can tell, the English and Icelandic bits mean the same thing.
@Peace0Love0Lolz Looks like it now that you mention it. The only observation I made was the similarity to Swedish, but yeah it looks pretty similar and you can infer what he's saying.
"Hello my beloved". Close to the norwegian and swedish word elske(love) elskan/elskede. It is a stronger word with more romantic meaning than "darling".
@Kverul It's personal preference really. Besides I regard the languages as very similar. I just really like North Germanic language, and I can't really place why. I'm still not very good at it yet though.
was listening to this song and had to check up the lyrics (found them here) was sounding like somewhat bad scandinavian, but if its icelandic it solves everything :P
@zant741 Translation: "Hello my darling. Can't believe how time has passed. Since I said goodbye, saw the sea swell in your eyes. You're so beautiful. I think of you and my heart fills. Come, come home. It's so cold without you here."
Only with an artist as amazing as Voltaire can you follow up one of him most heartfelt songs (and one of my favorites) with a snippet from "Alchemy Mondays," and have people get excited rather than pissed.
Icelandic is such a beautiful language! And it's actually not too hard to hard to understand for a Scandinavian person like me with roots in Sweden and Norway.
I'm Icelandic so believe me when I say that he singing in icelandic there (allthough because of his pronounciation it sometimes sound like it's Faroese)
@skuggi89 I'm from the faroes, and his pronunciation is significantly different from Faroese, although some words sound almost exactly the same, such as "hugsa", "hjarta" and "fyllist".
@Darkpup15 Which is completely true, and let's not get into a newfag nerf-batting of eachother. I just see it as a newfaggy act to go "Hey there!" to people you see also having knowledge of the quite mainstream site 4chan. I for one am an old-fag (not e-peening, i swear) and going "omg your form 4chna!?1" got boring after a month or so due to it not being rare. Besides, i asked you a question, why are you taking offence? :P
You're right, it sounds more danish than icelandic, and since I know a girl from Iceland, and I'm danish myself, I should know. But still, it's pretty good of an american.
Well, technically he is Cuban, but yes, he is not too poor when it comes to speaking outside of his language. For example, he seems to speak Japanese rather well.
This makes me want to learn icelandic

Icelandic. And yup. At least from what I can understand from icelandic.
"Þú ert svo falleg : You are so beautiful
Hugsa um þig og hjarta mitt fyllist, first part no idea, last part "my heart fills"
Komdu, komdu heim" Come, come home.
You are so beautiful.
