  • This makes me want to learn icelandic

  • He actually got the icelandic part pretty well, his accent isn't perfect but it does sound like he can actually speak our language..

  • Actually, let me just ask, what is this whole song about?

  • What language is that hallo Elskan min thing? and, is he just repeating what he said before in the part?

  • @icedragonxl4

Icelandic. And yup. At least from what I can understand from icelandic.

"Þú ert svo falleg : You are so beautiful

Hugsa um þig og hjarta mitt fyllist, first part no idea, last part "my heart fills"

Komdu, komdu heim" Come, come home.

    You are so beautiful.

  • Þetta lag er laglegur kaldur.

  • Icelandic.

  • if you listen on the end he sings i see a band from norway or japan so it is not swedish and not japan that can u hear so it is norwegian

  • @TheZanzj1 That's another song, Alchemy Mondays, which the uploader accidentally 'obtained' alongside this song.

  • @TheZanzj1 Believe me, it's not Norwegian. Well, not modern Norwegian; it's Icelandic, which Norwegian *used* to be similar to, so I can see why you'd think it's Norwegian. There are still similarities, though it reminded me of Danish at first, at least with his pronounciation.

And, yeah, @Peace0Love0Lolz, as far as I can tell, the English and Icelandic bits mean the same thing.

  • @EpicFailHat oki ty for telling

  • @Peace0Love0Lolz Looks like it now that you mention it. The only observation I made was the similarity to Swedish, but yeah it looks pretty similar and you can infer what he's saying.

I need to be more observant...

  • Took me a moment to see that 'elskan' was so similar to the Swedish word 'älska'. I believe the song means 'Hella my darling'.

  • @bushinarin

"Hello my beloved". Close to the norwegian and swedish word elske(love) elskan/elskede. It is a stronger word with more romantic meaning than "darling".

  • @Kverul Thank you! I'm trying to learn Swedish, and any help with Nordic language is welcome!

  • @bushinarin

Why Swedish? Norwegian is much better.

  • @Kverul It's personal preference really. Besides I regard the languages as very similar. I just really like North Germanic language, and I can't really place why. I'm still not very good at it yet though.

  • Inte svenska!

  • was listening to this song and had to check up the lyrics (found them here) was sounding like somewhat bad scandinavian, but if its icelandic it solves everything :P

  • I don't speak faroese no

  • Havent heard this song in ages.Dam im so happy I stumbled across it again.

  • if only id didnt have the bit of Alchemy Mondays pasted to the end

  • @zorbakpants2 ignore it then. Thats what came at the end of the version i got from limewire, i was annoyed too, and didn't realize until finalizing.

Actually, my little trailer at the end matched up perfectly with it, so I can't be mad at it completely lol..

  • @CrimzonRegret My version dosn't have it O-o

  • OH MEIN GOTT~! Voltaire can sing in Icelandic? He already sings in Japanese AND Spanish O_o whoa hes gotta be the MOST talented singer on earth lol.

(pity I can't find a song of him in German, its my favorite language XD)

  • @EvilBakaCat his german song is called "I am Rammstein"

  • @ell975 I've listened to it and its not really german mate lolz but its an awesome song about an awesome band XD

  • Voltaire + icelandic = SEXY!

  • jeez what language doesn't he speak!

  • @101Penspinning

    apparently German T_T

  • Icelandic is just plain sexy. I don't even understand how, it just IS.

  • btw im from iceland as you may figure XD

  • Halló elskan mín

    Trúi ekki hvað tíminn líður

    Síðan við skildumst að

Sá hafid rísa í augum þínum

    Þú ert svo falleg

Hugsa um þig og hjarta mitt fyllist

    Komdu, komdu heim

Það er svo kalt án þín hérna

  • @H4CK1O Do you know what language that is?

  • It's a beautiful song, I know that much <3

  • It's Icelandic. You have it wrong, though.

    Halló elskan mín

    Trúi ekki hvað tíminn líður

    Síðan við skildumst að

Sá hafið rísa í augum þínum

    Þú ert svo falleg

Hugsa um þig og hjarta mitt fyllist

    Komdu, komdu heim

Það er svo kalt án þín hérna.

    Small technicalities but wrong nevertheless.

  • This is actually very impressive, he's got almost all the pronunciation dead right... Considering how difficult icelandic can be..

  • can anyone translate the icelandic parts? 'cause i cant find them anywhere on the internet.

  • @zant741 Its the same as the first verse

  • @zant741 its just the english parts on icelandic..

  • @zant741 Translation: "Hello my darling. Can't believe how time has passed. Since I said goodbye, saw the sea swell in your eyes. You're so beautiful. I think of you and my heart fills. Come, come home. It's so cold without you here."

He's pretty much repeating what he said before.

  • Only with an artist as amazing as Voltaire can you follow up one of him most heartfelt songs (and one of my favorites) with a snippet from "Alchemy Mondays," and have people get excited rather than pissed.

  • It's Icelandic. I know this because i am Icelandic.

  • Voltaire, teh lang. master

  • Epic.

  • Icelandic is such a beautiful language! And it's actually not too hard to hard to understand for a Scandinavian person like me with roots in Sweden and Norway.

    Beautiful song btw!

  • Voltaire is so awesome, and this song is too X3 Icelandic :D!

  • I like how the whole song is sad and then you put alchemy mondays at the end

  • I'm Icelandic so believe me when I say that he singing in icelandic there (allthough because of his pronounciation it sometimes sound like it's Faroese)

  • Omg, Japanese, Icelandic, Spanish songs, awesome! I wish there were some Slavic, Hungarian and Italian songs of him.

  • @skuggi89 You damn man.I'm myself am Icelandic as well, and I was just about to boast about it.

  • @discoduck1994 ö...haha;)

  • @skuggi89 Bastarður.

  • @skuggi89 I'm from the faroes, and his pronunciation is significantly different from Faroese, although some words sound almost exactly the same, such as "hugsa", "hjarta" and "fyllist".

Btw, just out of curiosity, do you speak Faroese?

  • Does anyone know were I can download this song or buy the album?

  • Buy it online or at one of his shows.

Haha. Last time I went to see him in San Antonio (TX) I bought practically the whole merch booth and he gave me a belt buckle for free. :3

(I would've bought it, too, if I'd had enough money with me for it.)

    Voltaire is such a sweetheart.<33

  • The language is icelandic.

    And I LOVE this song.

  • i think its swedish idk

  • it's definitely north germanic, and I can't understand a word of it, so it must be Icelandic xD

  • Wow this song is the most beautiful song I ever heard!!!

    The last part is funny!

  • How is it funny?

  • he's talking about my little promotional advertisment with the song Alchemy Mondays

    ;)

  • Thanks and...

    I'm a girl. ^_^;

  • ooo im so sorry, its very hard to tell if you dont go on anyones page...sorry!

  • It's ok! I always been mistaken for a guy in the internet, its ok! ^_^

  • @FlashMob22

so......lol "the internet is for porn porn PORN"

  • Nope. There are no women on the internet.

  • Huh? I'm sure there are..?

  • It's an old internet thing. Anybody from the deep, dark, internets will know what I'm talking about.

  • rule 34: if it exists there is porn of it

rule 35: if none can be found make some

  • HAHAHA that sadley is so true!

Web Soup taught me that as well......

  • @CrimzonRegret

lol rulez of da interwebz never fail

  • @Laffnman08 I like you

  • @Laffnman08 rule 47: you will never have sex

  • Comment removed

  • it goes up to 67 or around there

  • Comment removed

  • okay, what are the real rules called?

  • ddo you whant me to list all of them?

  • @FlashMob22 no just the name of the video/website

  • dunno why you got 2 thumbs down i completely agree with you

  • so you will never have sex?

  • ahahaha i will... i'm sayin to whom these rules apply to will not....

  • so not me

  • @Chronos844 Rule 34. Nothing else needs to be said.

  • @Laffnman08 its actualy, rule 35: if no porn can be found at the present time, it will in the very near future

  • @Laffnman08 but what does that have to do with....oh my god...

  • @Laffnman08 So that's where Worf's Revenge, Sexy Data Tango and Cantina came from.

  • @Laffnman08 He's already done that. Look up his song Cantina. Or The Sexy Data Tango. XD

  • @Laffnman08 Sup /b/ro

  • @Darkpup15 newfag brother joseph? ^^

  • @SinisterGrapefruit Lol, you should see the newfags that think rules 1 & 2 apply to anything other then raids.

  • @Darkpup15 Which is completely true, and let's not get into a newfag nerf-batting of eachother. I just see it as a newfaggy act to go "Hey there!" to people you see also having knowledge of the quite mainstream site 4chan. I for one am an old-fag (not e-peening, i swear) and going "omg your form 4chna!?1" got boring after a month or so due to it not being rare. Besides, i asked you a question, why are you taking offence? :P

  • no there are no women on the internet

  • Indeed. Law 30 ftw.

  • It's Icelandic. Says it inside the album cover. :3

  • "Hallo" is also norwegian for hello :P and "min" is "my/mine" in Norwegian to :P LOL!

  • icelandic

  • icelandic have words that are very like norwegian

  • I'm inclined to say it's icelandic... but it sounds more like Danish, the way he pronounces it xD

However, the words and their spelling reveals it's not Danish.

    I know, since I'm norwegian.. =P

  • i asked Voltaire himself one day, and he said it was Icelandic.

  • You're right, it sounds more danish than icelandic, and since I know a girl from Iceland, and I'm danish myself, I should know. But still, it's pretty good of an american.

  • Well, technically he is Cuban, but yes, he is not too poor when it comes to speaking outside of his language. For example, he seems to speak Japanese rather well.

  • How do you know it's Icelandic?

  • I'm Icelandic myself. |D His pronunciation is a bit off, but it's a really good song.

  • yeah thats pretty good icelandic althoug it feels like he,s saying hello not Haló

  • What language is it in, I wonder?

  • It's in Icelandic. I'm really impressed how well he sings in it. 8D
