  • Wow, this caller has some confused concepts. With people so confused all the time and unable to even think clearly, I can understand how religion gained a foothold and continues to thrive.

Most religious people strike me as having minds full of mud.

  • 4:14 patience gone.

  • In my understanding "to exist" means "to be percepted". Something can not exist by its own.

  • i like how they try to undermine thousands of years of faith.....with fucking jars?.....nothing is real explain real? explain how it feels? do you believe, or is it a chemical reaction in your brain telling you that you do? is there a god? i'm sure each individual that was born on some area of this planet has an answer to that question. because of course we as humans know all and know nothing, the only species of monkey that is capable of this magnitude of ignorance.

  • I think I need to call this show. The arguments from my fellow Christians are quite weak. The bottom line is: We can demonstrate the existence of a disembodied mind by arguing for the first cause itself.

  • @Autumn6

You don't need to call the show because you can make your argument for your Christian god right here - go ahead, the floor is yours and we are all waiting....

  • ATHEIST'S RULE OF FAITH: TO SEE GOD DIRECTLY IS TO BELIEVE. HAHAHAHA CAN YOU WITHOUT AN MRI BRAIN SCAN AS YOUR BIBLE, PROVE TO ME THAT YOU ARE NOT BRAINLESS???

  • Seriously Christians, just stop with yer bullshit, nonsense rambling. But then if they did, we wouldn't have this show......so never mind.

  • @Andohish llol I agree

  • its always funny listening to jiber jaber of religious people, yammering knowledge who knows get from where , while being hammered with alcohol and possibly drugs.

  • It's not NOT a jar!

  • It is because it is, therefore God exists. Okie-dokie.

  • That call had to have been a joke. I hope so, for the love of humanity.

  • Callers reaction when Matt asks him to pick any one thing and define what the hell he is talking about is priceless....

  • Lol! 4:13=victory sip!

  • uhhh derp derp singularity derpity der derp uhh disembodied mind derp de derp general relativity derp 2+2=4 derp derp derpity. Therefore god dun it. I swear he just throws together big words to try and make his argument sound intelligent

  • HERR HOW DO I NUMBERS GOD DUN IT

  • Tracie is as brilliant as she is beautiful. But she's got a mean streak in her. Usually, she's the good cop to Dillahunty's bad one. This video reminded me of the Ali-Terrel fight. I was waiting for her to yell "What's my name?" as she beat up on the poor guy.

  • Numbers are symbols that allow humans to keep track of objects. The cosmos

could care less about humans keeping track of objects.

  • This caller straight up has asperger's

  • Kalam and Pascal should go bowling.

  • I live in San Antonio, Texas, and I'd love to one day just bump into someone from The Atheist Experience in a bar scene, catch 'em at table, and discuss or debate, whatever they'd like. I'm sure if it was Matt, he'd ultimately make it an argumentative thing, and get in his little disputatious tone. I'd rather meet up with Tracie, because I think she'd consider what I'd have to say without automatically dismissing the way Matt sometimes does, and I'd introduce her to perennial philosophy.

  • @Hanahleia: Perennial philosophy is not useful in a pragmatic sense. I doubt Tracie would subscribe to the premise that it offers. Universal truth in philosophy is not demonstrable.

  • @chinopisces Well, I come at it from the angle of people like Alan Watts, Aldous Huxley, and Terence McKenna. Alan Watts makes it very convincing, and there's even a talk where he discusses it on YouTube titled "Myth and Religion - Jesus and his Religion." I'd recommend Alan Watts' lectures or books to anyone, especially atheists.

  • @Hanahleia: While I am a promoter of Eastern thought in general, I do not approve of the claims of supernatural. Taoists and even Buddhists are prone to deny supernatural claims based on principle alone.

I prefer the skeptical perspective for all practical reasons. I recommend Bertrand Russell, one of the most important philosophers of our time. His quote, "One should not believe in anything without valid evidence" is one of the most important axioms of intellectual integrity.

  • @chinopisces Well, concerning eastern philosophy, evidence of what a Zen Buddhist may call "satori" or a Hindu may call "samadhi" is a very murky thing to address. It is a kind of evidence, but not one that stands up to usual scientific methods or procedures, but Alan Watts spoke of it greatly, I believe even Bertrand in his later years considered it, and Richard M. Bucke approached this aspect of mind in his book "Cosmic Consciousness." It is the point of Buddhism.

    /watch?v=l6NBdo9n3mg#t=1m38s

  • @Hanahleia: If evidence doesn't stand up to the scientific method, then why should I regard it as valid evidence?

Cosmic consciousness, satori, nirvana, or any other mental state has nothing to do with the supernatural. It has everything to do with imagination. While I encourage these thought experiments for philosophical purposes, we must not allow ourselves to fall under the slippery slope of objective reality.

Regarding philosophy and not reality, I happen to like Deepak Chopra.

  • @chinopisces Are you, by any chance, familiar with the work of Terence McKenna? He had an interesting philosophical perspective. I suppose it depends what you mean by "supernatural." McKenna described these experiences as "being struck with metaphysical lightning." I think you underestimate this "mental state," it is a colossal transformation of consciousness which could literally challenge your entire perspective.

    Some suggestions:

    /watch?v=zCoMx1Ub8TE

    /watch?v=9c8an2XZ3MU

  • @Hanahleia: I am. I love that guy. In fact, I encourage the notion of psychedelic experience for those who are ready. For me, it was the most profound mental migration of my life. I'm actually considered a 'guide' for people who are new to the experience. Ironically, it helped me become an atheist.

But what does that have to do with the supernatural? If you consider our minds to possess an infinite range of possibilities, I might agree with you if it is solely based on individual experience.

  • @chinopisces I'm not sure if I could describe what I mean by "supernatural" succinctly enough here in this post, so I'll send you a message, if you don't mind...

Okay, I sent it, but I forgot to link you to a reference I made in the message. Where I say "scroll down" to view an animation of an isotope, the link to that page is as follows:

    ww w(dot)answers(dot)com/topic/homeomorphism

Or you can simply Wiki "homeomorphism." I apologize for that. I rushed the message and ended up leaving it out.

  • @Hanahleia: I haven't read your message yet, but I'll describe the simple definition of 'supernatural'. It simply means, 'beyond natural'. Ghosts, spirits, trans-dimensional travel, floating in midair, immortality, etc.

I'll read your post and get back to you shortly.

  • @chinopisces Sure, but I was referring to the processes of these things. For instance, Terence had the idea of the brain working something like an organic antenna, & that these hallucinations of the psychedelic experience are actually glimpses into parallel dimensions. String theorists propose that we're locked in tune with one of perhaps infinite parallel dimensions. The fact that you're witnessing a dead relative or friend may be due to the fact that in a parallel universe, they're still alive.

  • @Hanahleia If that were the case, those people aren't your relatives. You don't share the experiences or understand the life of 'your you', your counterpart in any such parallel universe. You don't know what you did in that other life. You don't know the people, they may look the same, but their lives are different and they are related to the person you would call you in that universe. They're not yours to be related to.

  • GO Tracie!!!!

  • "I don't understand what you're saying and why"

  • Why does he call in so much to be humiliated. I'm fairly convinced he is an absolute stoner looking for some deep thought provoking kicks!

    2+2=4 WHOOOAAA

  • @liamarioeire Nah, most stoners are aware of the differences between a concept and an object. Nothing better than a joint to talk about theory of language, concepts, set theory, propositional logic, fallacies, etc.

  • logical absolutes + first cause = god

    christian + opinion = d'oh

2+2=4 is an Axiom not a logical absolutes.

  • How the fuck do these assholes get hold a job or get through a day???

  • May the almighty Hoevah rise up on his mighty golden chariot and and slice off a holy wedge of his zeus like beard to form a reckoning triumphant lightning bolt from the skys of Heaven to strike down the resound hatred formed from your cave thoughts and Darwin devil conkey eyes..oh yee of tasteless fortitued and hungered faith...say ith my Lord amem

  • I have so much respect for you guys being able to deal with "absolute" idiots everyday hahahahaha

  • Orwell proved that two plus two equals five anyway.

  • One problem with many people who make shit up is that they don't realize that they're making shit up.

  • "Smoke weed every day"

  • Any guy wanting to debate Tracie needs to measure his balls first.

  • @lewisner So Bon Scott would be able to make a good argument?

  • @twistedH3L1X Not right now but in his heyday yes.

  • @lewisner well its too late for that and the real point of the jars are to give him something to take them home in

  • This is the kind of mindless believer that the Atheist Experience should not be wasting its time on. The guy has no idea what he is talking about and can't explain his reasoning clearly. In other words, he's the perfect believer.

  • Geez, I guess i know why people believe in fairy tales....just lower your intelligence level

  • retard

  • Good evening and welcome to another edition of 'Storage Jars'. On tonight's programme Matt Dillahunty, the american atheist leader who seized power in Austin this morning, tells us what he keeps in storage jars: Nothing, and absolutley nothing.

  • They are veryyy patient.

    Q: "why is 2 + 2 = 4?"

    A: Because you're a moron.

  • @AlexWwwolf

    Why waste patience on morons?

  • @TheGreatHaste unfortunately morons are people too, if you do not try to help, how can you expect to be helped in exchange. I think that this is what the show is about.

  • @AlexWwwolf

I don't really think I would necessarily desire the help of a moron.

And they didn't straight up insult the caller, they answered his question rationally.

  • I think this guy has a mind but not a brain haha

  • "If we were in Mexico, we would have dos jars." lol

  • Do Christians really think somebody had to MAKE two plus two equal to four for it to be so?

Do they think if nobody did, then two item sets would split into 5 or 100 would placed close together? What kind of acid trip are these people on? Or do they really have no clue what they are actually trying to prove? I'll go with the latter.

  • This caller was really Tommy Chong trying out a new bit.

  • DO they PAY people to be stupid and call in... or do they put an advert in a paper for a free bible?

  • minute and a half in.. and it hits me he's saying "pee" as a constant when he means Pi... the idiot doesn't even know what it is or how to say it, and he's trying to argue against it? yikes...

  • Tracie was getting a bit upset at this moron

  • wow 2 + 2=4 so that must mean that there is a god, this guy is a fucking moron

  • @FAVREandREDD lmao!

  • I listen to this in the background while I play WoW

  • that guy is really dumb ._.

  • /user/ppsimmons#p/c/A983C3CCFC478D82 check this channel out for amazing things about the Bible and God!

  • The logical absolute of a disembodied mind began when 2+2 came together and caused the big bang to from from a singularity of first cause.

  • I think that this guy Ken is brainless. Here it is. The first demonstrable evidence that a mind (barely) can exist without a brain.

  • he sounds like a guy on drugs.

  • Is this guy needs proof that 2+2=4 he needs to go back grade 2.

  • what is it with Christians always thinking 2+2=4 proves their theology? its just so silly

  • @funcpl2741054 It's called common sense

  • @funcpl2741054 Which branch of Christianity thinks like that? I may be wrong but I THINK there are roughly 38000 of Christianity. All have different teachings, methods. I know you haven't met all 3k branches of Christians . w .

  • And you're done... I love Matt and Tracie ^_^

  • Another retarded caller. I love it! Religious people crack me up!

  • I want some of whatever this caller was smoking. Holy shit.

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn dude i pissed my pants when i read that. fucking hilarious....

this guy was beyond any realm of reality!

  • @13stevejohnson I bet your smelling pretty bad urinating on your self like that?

  • @majorl311 you bet!

  • @13stevejohnson what do I bet?

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn ill have what he's having

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn you just answered you own question...."holyshit" ;)

  • @majorl311 So, am i beeing tested? If he's god, he knows everything. There's no test. He knows what i'm going to do anyways. Then, he's useless, and are making us do useless things here as well.

No more discussion for now. If you think your eyes are really open, go for it. Cience proved itself too many times for me to even consider religion.

  • @gugglle bye I'm on to better things, take what I told you or leave it

  • @majorl311 "We eat through the same tube that we breath*". Got a bit distracted here.

  • @majorl311 No, I dont see order, or a good design to things to work. If god created things, why the hell we have to eat? So we can fight for it? Or die because there's not enough? Couldnt we just absorb energy from the light to survive? Or didnt have any energic needs at all.

We eat through the same tube as we eat. Lots of deaths because of that, real smart.

Anyways, religion for a long ago tried to prove itself and failed. Cience on the other hand...

  • @gugglle it is what it is not what you fantasied it should be, perfection comes after you make it through this life and then you reach the next life, you didn't know you were being tested did you,the test is hard some turn to God some turn against God!

  • @majorl311 You mean this heaven /watch?v=24uuDa7S2HQ&feature=channel_video_title

  • @TheBlitMaster bye bye again give it up!

  • @majorl311 Give what up? According to you I'm an atheist whom has nothing (technically I'm a deist but we can pretend you're correct on something). If I can give something up, then that must mean I have something which you don't. I think you're just jealous of my charming good looks. See, you realize your husband Kirk is starting to have, thoughts, and as we all know, they fuck up the faith thing. So you know it's only a matter of time before Crockoduck boy meets the real master.

  • @TheBlitMaster off into the rabbit hole into the land of nonsense you go again, bye !

  • @majorl311 The land of nonsense, as defined by a guy who believes in imaginary beings because a book of myths - and his mommy - told him "He" exists. Gotta love religious folk.

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn the Bible says and this is the God I speak of the one who is the intelligence behind the creation of the universe and everything therein, that is who I am referring to and who do evolutions atheist refer to,they say abiogenesis did it, some bacteria started in the mud and out of it came males and females of fish, birds, humans ,mammals and reptiles no intelligence required

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn Genesis 2:7, which says:

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

(Genesis 3:19) “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn What are the scientific proof that man’s body came from the dust of the ground, as the Bible says? The human body is made up of materials and minerals found on the surface of the ground, and not from the core of the earth. Oxygen, being the most abundant element on the earth’s crust or on the ground, makes up 65 percent of the human body, and carbon, also abundant on the top soil of the ground, is 18 percent, and hydrogen is 10 percent.

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn The 59 elements found in the human body are all found on the earths crust.

This is amazing because what the Bible says perfectly match the scientific composition of a human body.

    you're going back to dust

  • @FlyingPinkUnicorn (Job 10:9) “Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?”

(Romans 9:20-21) “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?” he made one to honor and the atheist evolutionist well need we say more?

  • @majorl311 If you quote anything out of the Bible, you automatically look like a fool because any intelligent person today KNOWS that it's only a collection of bronze-age myths and fables and there's hardly a sensible story in it. You might as well go full tilt and quote some Alice in Wonderland and a pinch of Jack and the Beanstalk and make it a trilogy. Really, people living inside fish, talking snakes, talking bushes, people turning to salt, and having their strength in their hair?

  • @zideffil Genesis 2:1 tells us “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

I am going to show you that you think you know the Bible but indeed you are the one in the dark!

  • @majorl311 You are some kind of idiot, I guess, and should know better than to quote me garbage from a book that I have already said is full of shit. I cordially invite you to give your head a shake and see if you can hear anything at all rattling...anything?...anything yet? No, eh...I thought not. Goodbye.

  • @zideffil

    Psalm 14

Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Every thing you say is tainted because it is based on a false belief and a lie!

  • @majorl311 The Psalms are poetry, not scripture, they just got voted in there by the people one day. If you take divine wisdom from them then you sir are a the real fool.

  • @majorl311 No, Genesis 2:1 says "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.", If you can't even quote mine your own book right, what makes you think that quote mining someone else's book is going to help you?

  • @TheBlitMaster Ok I think I said good bye to you once upon a time and it didn't stick so go your way have you way good bye again , do what you wish if you find God when you die don't say no one told you!

  • @majorl311 I'm a deist, get it through your thick skull. The difference between you and me is my god is cooler, and he can kick your god's ass.

  • @TheBlitMaster your God appears to me to be the God of this world we call him Satan you 2 stay close now! bye your replies are going into the trash then into the emptiness !

  • @majorl311 Come on cunt turd. Prove to me that you can come up with even a single sliver of intelligence within that elevator of yours that you call a brain. I called you out on your ignorance and utterly demolished every single creationist claim that you've made without even moving a muscle. I also said that my god could easily kick the ever-living shit out of yours and all you can come up with is that Satan can too. So, here we are again retard. Either defend your claims or shut the fuck up.

  • @TheBlitMaster I will let it play out, there is an end to it all!

  • @majorl311 Why would I care what you want? I'm owned your scrawny, wrinkly, insignificant ass on every single point you made, and yet you still continue to make them as if you think nobody else is smart enough to verbally beat the shit out of you like I do. Hint, when someone is whopping your ass in a debate, you either admit that they beat you, or try to defend your erroneous claims, you don't pussy out like the little bitch you are.

  • @zideffil What are the scientific proof that man’s body came from the dust of the ground, as the Bible says? The human body is made up of materials and minerals found on the surface of the ground, and not from the core of the earth. Oxygen, being the most abundant element on the earth’s crust or on the ground, makes up 65 percent of the human body, and carbon, also abundant on the top soil of the ground, is 18 percent, and hydrogen is 10 percent, from dust to dust!

  • @majorl311 "Oxygen, being the most abundant element on the earth’s crust or on the ground, makes up 65 percent of the human body", I already told you why this fails, it's only 24% Oxygen. "and carbon, also abundant on the top soil of the ground", You do realize that soil get's it's carbon (and most of it's nutrients) from scat, and/or floods of lava/salt water, right? " is *12* percent, hydrogen is *63* percent, from dust to dust!", fixed it for you.

  • @zideffil The 59 elements found in the human body are all found on the earths crust.

This is amazing because what the Bible says perfectly match the scientific composition of a human body.

(Romans 9:20-21) “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?”

  • @majorl311 "The 59 atoms found in humans are all found on the earths crust.", and so are billions of microscopic lifeforms, both living and dead, besides, it's not the atoms that matter (no pun), it's the molecules. Lipids, DNA, proteins, apatite, carbohydrates, and electrolytes are not mere atoms. Besides, there are 88 atoms in Earth's crust, and only 98 atoms that are naturally recurring (and 20 more that were created in labs), and only 84 were primordial (existing before life on Earth).

  • @zideffil n the Beginning (Time), God created the heavens (Space) and the earth (Matter). Let there be light (Energy).

The very first verses of the Bible names the four fundamental properties of the universe, (noted by Einstein around 1916). In Genesis, light energy from weak and strong nuclear force generates all matter to form. These fundamental interactions of matter and energy result from the duality of light as both particle and wave.

Genesis, the Bible was not meant for you!

  • @majorl311 Your last comment more than proves that you are mentally disturbed. Please, for your own sake, get some help. Professional help. Pretty please? Yes, Dorothy, I DO mean a psychiatrist.

  • @zideffil Everyone who disagrees with you about God is crazy, there are millions of us, get used to it!

  • @majorl311 Only millions? Wow, you guys really let yourselves go, I mean. I could've sworn you had billions yesterday.

  • @TheBlitMaster so man your full of pride and you don't need to acknowledge God, that is it your whole thinking process is tainted by your belief that there is no God, death is the end for you you think, so why are you always in here battling with the God you say doesn't exist after all if you died today and that is it, I would think you could spend your last hours doing something better, but then if you face the God you say doesn't exist what will you say then?

  • @majorl311 "but then if you face the God you say doesn't exist what will you say then?", Which god that I say doesn't exist? Besides, what if the Muslims are right? Then you go to Hell for worshiping a prophet as a god. But if it was your god, I would say nothing, and listen to nothing he had to say, and then I would probably punch him in his balls until he cried like the pussy ass bitch he is. Questions?

  • @majorl311 Well, at least we can agree on one thing - that Genesis was not made for me, as you said because it was made for children or people who have a childish way of looking at things and who will believe anything, no matter how stupid and silly it is. Yup, it was made for you alright.

  • @zideffil I am sorry but you and I were created for a reason and to enjoy fellowship with the GOD who created us, He made us for that but many don't want anything to do with Him so the mean cold streets are were they will reside, you are being sifted out here on this earth and the God has place for believers and that is Heaven and Hell well you didn't want anything to do with God?

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 Yes it is like trying to break a granite rock with a rubber hammer, you can't get it through there head that there is a reason for us being here!

    peace out to you few!

  • @majorl311 /watch?v=gcUo9Tk0A

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 First, it wasn't coined in the first century, the Gospels weren't even finished until the second. Second, why is it that all I have to do is replace about 5 words of your comment to make it a description of any Pagan religion, or Hinduism? Oh, yeah, that's because the people who wrote the Gospels and the Tanakh stole from the religions of the people 'they' (the Romans were the ones who actually did it) conquered.

  • @majorl311 god created a place for us? says who?

There's no piece of evidence to support that god created the universe, or either the heaven/hell exists.

The bible came from men, saying they were saints from a god who wouldnt smite you if you just shut up and believe in him. This was made to control people, like most of the religions did.

There is no evidence, there is no good reason to believe in it, so no, thank you. 15 years listening to things that dont make sense are enough for me.

  • @gugglle hey open your eyes and look around you there is clear design in the whole order of things, order means design, design means designer ,creation means creator, now that was not to hard was it, it is hard when you have no common sense however!

  • @majorl311 Look, Cumfart the gay. For the septillionth time this Planck time. You're pathetic argument was debunked before you first uttered it into existence. Now go home Ray, your pedostache is starting to smell up the place. If you want to follow the way of the master, you can start by actually listening to the one whom has master in their name.

  • @TheBlitMaster bye bye

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 Thanks for your help here!

  • This video is dumb

  • Why beat up on the guy so harsh? He was at least willing to engage and by showing how his thinking was warped or wrong you could move forward. Instead it was like good cop, bad cop and then hanging up

  • Comment removed

  • God is brainless you say, God told the Jews commanded them not to eat the pigs and not to eat the bottom feeding shell fish and they obeyed and they avoided the diseases associated with that, you see at that time people would crap on the ground and throw out the waste outside the city and the pigs would clean it up eating the human waste and eating the other dead animals !

  • Comment removed

  • this one is really good

  • 8:05 General relativellee

  • the title of this video should be "The difference between nothing and absolutely nothing".

  • @reydiyohed I have also herd the claims or "I am a christian" and "I am a true christian" My question is.... what is the difference?? Got to love that christian mentality.

  • now thats a Tan!?!

  • I dont think this caller knows his own name

  • Tracie is totally badass.

  • "Can you measure numbers?" Huh?!!!

  • @Akira625 If you pull out a measuring tape to measure numbers, it has numbers, so you need to measure that, but that measuring tape has numbers too! So you get another (etc)

That's an infinite chain of events. Since you cannot have an infinite chain of events, there must have been a beginning. That beginning is the Christian God. :D

I'd make a good apologist lol

  • . . . just ask Dennett.

  • I know what the caller had in mind but he didnt speak on it well. The caller was saying that God exists as a Mind/Spirit (not material). That the universe NECESSARILY began to exist, so the "nothing" before it must be THE beginning as an efficient cause lest we say the universe popped into existence from NOTHING and by NOTHING. The evidence of the brain is just as much evidence for a distinction between the mind and the brain as the mind CAN exist when the brain is removed from the head . . .

  • I feel sorry for the caller. He stepped into something way beyond his depth and did not know it. Too many people do not know the science and make assumptions (like there was nothing before Singularity) that end up making them look stupid. The truth is that basic theoretical science needs to be taught to kids in Primary (Elementary) School so that this kind of thing can be avoided. I don't think the caller was stupid just uneducated.

  • @geniusrepairman1 That would be way too complicated for children. Some even have a hard time with multiplication lol.

  • @iTrollThis Well, maybe String Theory is too hard, but a basic understanding of what science actually is would be important, and also a brief history of the Universe and the story of Life On Earth is not too hard. An hour or two a week from about Year 4 would mean they would have a good solid foundation to add complexity to at Year 8, say. I learned about animals and dinosaurs when I was small and I never learned the multipication tables!

  • If something is a thought, i consider a thought a real thing. therfore what ever someone thinks is real (in their head).

  • @CaptainDiablos That's fine if you want to define "real" on egocentric terms, but it ignores 2 aspects of reality which can be explored.

Firstly, if you take drugs, but not necessarily have to take them to achieve this effect, you can hallucinate. Are those hallucinations real?

Secondly, the study of psychology has shown the human brain to be flawed at mapping "outside reality" as defined by what we can correlate is there with other people, especially scientists.

  • that guy's fucking hammered!

  • @majorl311 Is that supposed to be scary or convincing?

'And so Thor did say "kill all frost giants before the day of my return, lest ye all rot in hel".'

Is that convincing to you? Is that going to make you reconsider your position?

  • @iseezapie You went down the same rabbit hole that Alice went down and you live in the land of make believe!

First of all what is it that I said that your speaking of?
