Caroline won't get pregnant. Klaus's mom cheated on her husband with a werewolf when she was human. That's why she was able to get pregnant. Then when her children got older their whole family was turned somehow, that's why they're the original family. Klaus never became a werewolf, because he became a vampire first and that stopped it from happening. That's why he needed to perform the spell to make the werewolf bloodline activate.
