It must be said too that McGeady got booked for complaining about this non award such was his dusgust . perfectly good goal and if Celtic had drawn this game via Diamonds (after the whistle strike)then the Celtic fans would be complaining about this goal just as much IMO.
I know, i know, its the first i've watched the video but lol
the refs in scotland are terrible, when i complain, i dont say it isnt fair on just rangers, all i say is that its shit letting referees away with that
and st mirren will probably play up though, they play well in the cup, as yous seen last time
Referees always take the easy option and penalise the forward. Every corner kick the defenders push, pull and hold and yet it's usually their foul in the refs eys. The honourable exception was the ref who gave Sutton a penalty (V Juventus) when the guy had both arms around his waist.
Neither goal should have stood. In both cases you can clearly hear the refs whistle going before either shot has been taken. Players stop, and stop trying when this happens.
I'm sorry but the ref who has come out to say the goal should have stood is a disgrace, as players had stopped. By all means, say you made a mistake in calling a hand ball, but don't make up new rules.
Anybody can see that he's got his elbow in Diamond's ribcage. Honestly, if you want to argue that it was a soft free kick then feel free (it would be a decent case) but don't just make shit up.
Pause it at 0.20, you can quite clearly see that Killen has his arm/elbow on Diamond's ribcage. That's called a push. How anyone in their right mind can compare this to the Diamond handball is beyond me.
I have no doubt that many things are beyond you but when any ball is played up in the air there is going to be jostling for position and there is always contact and an arguable infringement. It is the referee's responsibility to determine whether that infringement impinged upon the opponent's chances of defending or attacking the ball. In this case it clearly didn't so the goal shouold have stood.
There is always going to be jostling and that's why free kicks are given regularly for these kinds of incidents. I've seen far softer free kicks than this one given and I've seen more blatant fouls go unpunished. What is beyond dispute is that whilst there is debate over this incident, the infringement for Diamond's "goal" was an explicit mistake. You can't compare 50-50 decisions going against you to clear and obvious mistakes that are beyond explanation.
Granted but the incident in question was not 50-50 as there was barely an infringement to speak of. I find it hard to envisage "far softer free kicks" than this one.
That wasn't a 50-50, there was no foul or even any claims of a foul, the players were side-by-side and McDonald won the header therefore it's exactly the same as the Aberdeen goal. It's amazing (well actually it's not really it's to be expected in this country) that this incident wasn't given the same media attention.
Foul on Diamond. (Not clear on this vid, but clear on the actual tv and for those who where at the game)

So all the players stopped did they?
Presumably that doesn't include the Aberdeen defenders chasing after Samaras and the Aberdee n keeper running back to try and save the shot!

If all referee's failings were taken into account and reversed then Rangers would be playing in the third division. Wee arrow people.

You gotta be joking if you honestly believe that is a foul.
No matter what team you support, you could nae call that a foul.
