It is legal in South Dakota. They are registered the same as a motorcycle here. We were pumped when they finally decided to allow quads on the streets. The only place they are not allowed is the interstates.

headlight (high and low beam), tail light, brake light, horn, turn signals (front and back), speedometer, street tires, mirrors, exhaust that meets sound requirements, and you should be good to go! =)

as i said on this guys other video, this atv was likely brought in from another state such as idaho or arizona that allows atv's to be titled as motorcycles thus making them street legal ... willing to bet it was brought into california with said motorcycle title and dmv just issued a new plate and title ... if im wrong id like to know because id love to register my atv for street use.
