Why he does the salute is not clear-- the filmmaker narrates over the part where it initially happens. you can say Norman Finklestein is a little crazy, but one thing you can't call him is hypocritical. I am thankful whenever he pushes the envelope like this to make a great point.

Norman Finkelstein is the reason why i always take care to criticize the israeli government, or sometimes abbreviate to Israel in my criticism, but i would never criticize jews as a whole. Always remember that Finkelstein is a jew, and that there are others like him, Goldstone for example, and you will never fall into the trap of blaming all jews for the actions of the israeli government.

The funny thing is he isn't even a radical in any way. He is advocating for nothing more than the rule of international law and not using the holocaust as a means for a political end or a profit machine. With a few subtle changes to his delivery, he would be heard by everyone.

@BornToDie90 I agree but 1st we need to know what Zionism means: According to Wikipedia: "Zionism (Hebrew: ציונות, Tsiyonut) is a Jewish political movement that, in its broadest sense, has supported the self-determination of the Jewish people in a sovereign Jewish national homeland." This definition doesn't establish a specific location for it, but I think it would be fair to be in what was Nazi Germany, rather than in Israel. So, to be a Zionist doesn't even mean that the land has to be there.

@BornToDie90 OK, the definition I gave is historical, not updated, but even given the reality that that country was established in Israel, the country is there, that would be a problem to discuss in the 1st half of the 20th century, now it's too late, as it's too late to discuss the existence of USA, since those lands belonged to native americans. Let's take a South African path... not criticize Zionism as a whole (because there is also liberal Zionism), but the apartheidist policies of Israel.
