I love all the comments saying things like "Japanese Port" and "fixed glitches present in the US version." Akumajou Densetsu came out in late 1989 in Japan, while the US release was late 1990. Come on, people. Those glitches y'all know were issues made from the game being ported from JP to ENG...

You know what's frustrating? It's frustrating that they fixed the "can't hit me" glitch that was in the US version of this game. See, in the US version, that middle head can't be hit by Alucard without him jumping into the middle of the entire form (and taking damage). Sure, they apparently gave Dracula more health over all in the Japanese version, but he's much easier in this version, too.

There are movies that make Dracula's son named Alucard, but if you've read the original Dracula books, you will see it is the name he first uses to slip by Van Hellsing.

Yeah, making the last boss HARDER is a good example as to why this is a bad example of a classic.

Castlevania rocks, and this game has its AMAZING points, even. But if you want an example of a classic that MOST people played, Castlevania 1 or 2 is a better pick.

I'm not stating this video is invalid or anything. Its cool and you did a great job. I'm just saying I always hated C III more-so because of the unnecessary difficulty. (They made it HARDER in America.)

Yeah, I never beat the US CVIII when I was younger. Tbh, I had a hard enough time beating Akumajou Densetsu...though the first CV will always be the hardest to me.

@ZeromusX I have, and the american version is much harder, you almost NEED cheats to beat him lol. Everything about the american version is much harder, enemies do more damage, enemies have more attacks, enemies are faster, etc. Sypha even takes 5 damage when against dracula :(

I only beat this game using a save state. I still to this day can not beat that knight. I forget which stage in which he is a boss but I can't beat him. I can beat the rest of this game with very little trouble. I even beat Castlevania 1 easily but that knight!

Hmm, I suppose it would work if one would try to optimize the sprites for the NES. Remove colors here and there, remove LOTS of animations since the game wouldn't even use half of them.
