  • Great vid, important message. When I got my first boyfriend (at 17 :O) I realised I'd been completely misled about the importance of sex to guys, and even though he'd had girlfriends before, he never expected anything until I made the move. Yet I still feel I'm letting him down if I'm not in the mood, which I'm trying to get over. I have only realised now, at 18, that those ideas came from media like this. I only hope my little sister doesn't think the way I used to because of stuff like this :/

  • Excellent, it sucks that they disabled the music but this is still well worth looking at, i'm going to link it to my feminist blog. It's the psychology advertising agencies use to sell their products. They will sink to any level to make money which includes subtle words and images and like you pointed out word associations to subliminally plant those thoughts in your head and you begin to relate them. Very talented they are, the advertising agencies. Very smart indeed.

  • It's a formula for maximum sales - simple ! But if you were the owner of the magazine, would you also not want a formula for maximum sales? The point is, nobody disagrees that it is an unscrupulous and dirty business, but if we decide to buy into it, then who are they to stop us buying???? It is the general public that needs to realise that they are being completely misled and indeed led completely astray abd it is the general public that has to collectively stop buying into the marketing msg.

  • So the main here problem is that women may want to please men, how horrible.

  • you know, this is a great, thoughtful clip and I really enjoyed it, but I would have enjoyed it more if you had used the spell check.

  • Wow, I really iked this. Love your videos. Id like to hear some music though.

  • Mr. Paterson ftw!

  • im a guy and i find this very true and by the end about when they r lookin at it after sometime it affects them i feel lik some men's magazines lik men's health r doin the same thing wit a pic of ether a buff guy (which was we wanna be) r a guy holdin a hot ass girl and wit the same thing wit diets and relationships ans all that jazz

  • OMG, I have noticed this. These magz are putting it in the minds to cater a man's sexual desires. Basically just saying that all men want is sex from them. If women continue to think this way, they will just treat a man like he just wants sex. No wonder women are so mean to men now.

  • Those patterns are ridiculous. It's like I noticed them subconsciously and it turned me off for some reason, then watching this video I was like OH SHIT THEY DO ALL LIFT THEIR DRESS UP and crap like that. Crazzzy.

  • The objective is always to sell something to the highest bidder (women). It's like all the Hair Product commercials....I mean, when do you ever see a woman walking down the street in slow motion, caressing her hair?Or just swaying around, suspended in a white background dreamworld,in slow motion with their hair flowing around like they're underwater? Stop buying into it. Buy a Scientific American magazine instead. Women are the ones buying all that pretentious shallow stuff, not the men.

  • money has a bad influence on people, best thing you can do to stop magazines from posting these things is not buying them. sales = they make more

  • Exactly. When I was a lot younger for some reason my sister and I used to like Cosmo and I bought heaps of them. When I look back know I wonder what I was thinking. Buying thier trash only supports the image they present of women - the higher the sales are, the more advertisers they can attract, the more money for them.

  • its not just men making these covers.. magazines owned by women do the same thing.. why? Because women buy it. The hotter the model, the more likely the magazine "appears" to gain you men, the more interesting it seems. This video should be shown in high schools. Lately male magazines have been doing more and more the same to men. The goal is not to make women feel imperfect but to make sales. Women feel imperfect is just a side effect. A bad one, but never meant as the goal of making em.

  • so true, this helps me out with my art project because i chose this topic =]

  • wow ! these are great points! this was greak .. thanks :D

  • thank u thank u thank u for posting this so meaninful video.. just amazing!

  • Np.. I'm glad you liked it.
